The speaker discusses the concept of porn addiction, comparing the mindset of an addict who doesn't believe in God to a godly man who knows it is wrong. The godly man can seek guidance from God, while the man without God is left to fend for himself. Temptations vary, but the outcome seems to be the same - giving in to the allure of porn. The speaker suggests that the guy who searches for a shorter time may be making more effort to stop. The speaker emphasizes the importance of relying on God for deliverance from addiction. I would like to go into further detail about the concept of porno addiction. I know some of you are thinking, can he just move on? But there is so much more. For instance, for example, how do you see yourself as an addict compared to a porno addict who doesn't believe in God? The difference is astounding. But both of them find themselves in the same situation. You see it becomes a mindset where one person tries to justify his actions and the godly man struggles to do the same. One does not see any wrong with porno while the godly man knows it is wrong and has a strong conviction within himself. In the end, a man without God is left to fend for himself. But a godly man has a chance to call out to God for the guidance he needs. Furthermore, there are numerous temptations that prove God's ability to help you overcome them. Therefore, while the temptation factor in relationship to porno addiction may vary for each one of us, the general outcome seems to be the same. We do give in to the allure of porno, don't we? Why then do some guys search for hours while others might only search for, say, a few minutes? Once more, my audience will be limited to Christians. Not having Jesus as their Lord and Savior is a greater issue for the lost. It is possible that the guy who looks for a short while is making more of an effort to stop than the guy who looks for a long time. And let's acknowledge the guy who is looking less a little credit. Are they both feeling guilty about the time God has given them and misusing it since we have X amount of time? 24 hours a day to be exact. It is possible that the guy who is looking less can't have an easier time to repent. So I regress. We aren't talking about temptation. Once again, it's the guy who is looking a lot less successful in overcoming the temptation. A thousand mile journey starts with the first step. It reminds me of what I wrote in my book. That it's taken a long time to get where you are with porno. And it may take a long time to get rid of it. The closer you get to God and start to rely on Him, the shorter the period of time it will take to get totally delivered.
