Hello Parents! Here is a thought from this week's lesson.
In class this week, we discussed the healing of the centurion servant in Matthew chapter 8. We talked about worthiness and whether it is necessary for a miracle. We concluded that faith in Jesus Christ is the primary factor in receiving miracles. To help increase their faith, we looked at a talk from President Nelson called "Christ is Risen, Faith in Him Will Move Mountains." I wanted to share this with you and encourage you to have discussions about it with your child. Your kids had some great insights and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. God bless. Hello parents, I just wanted to take a moment to share with you one thing we discussed in class this week. For two reasons. One, just to give you an insight into what your child is discussing in seminary. And two, to give you one more gospel topic to discuss with your child if you would like. This week, one of the things we talked about was the healing of the centurion servant found in Matthew chapter 8 verses 5 through 13. We looked at a couple phrases where they talked about worthiness. The Jewish people in town claimed he was worthy of this miracle. But he himself said he wasn't worthy for the Savior to even enter his roof or come into his home. So we talked about whether you need to be worthy for a miracle or not. And the one thing that stood out was that it was his faith. That's what left the Savior amazed at. It was his faith. And so while worthiness is important, we came away with the conclusion that it's our faith in Jesus Christ that is the primary factor in receiving miracles. So to help them consider how to increase their faith, we looked at a talk from President Nelson. The talk is called Christ is Risen, Faith in Him Will Move Mountains. And this talk gave us five ways to increase our faith so that we can receive more miracles and also be instruments in helping others receive miracles. Well I just wanted to share that with you. Your kids shared some wonderful insights this week in class and I hope they bring these discussions home with you. Take care everyone. Have a great weekend and God bless.
