Audio.com Community Guidelines

Last updated: 15 January 2025

Overview

Audio.com is a respectful community where everyone should feel safe and empowered to share. This platform is a welcoming and open environment for everyone, whether you’re a podcast creator, musician, audio contributor, or listener. This document outlines our Community Guidelines and features important information regarding your use of audio.com as well as the audio files you upload, share and consume on the service.

User interactions

We want all of our users to have positive and meaningful interactions on audio.com. We actively encourage conversation, collaboration and constructive feedback. However, criticism should always be focused on the content and not the individual who made it.

It’s ok to say something like:

“Your beats need work. Try doing xyz.”

It’s not ok to say something like:

“Your music’s shit and I hate your voice!”

We have zero tolerance for content, comments or feedback that is abusive, hateful or discriminatory against individuals and/or protected groups. We encourage users who encounter content or comments that violate this policy to report it using this form.

Below you will find the types of content that are unwelcome on audio.com as well as some things that are permitted within a specific context. Not abiding by these rules may result in your content and/or comment being deleted and/or your account suspended.

• Abuse, bullying and harassment

• Hate speech and content targeted at protected groups

• We do not tolerate hateful content that discriminates against anyone based on their age, caste, colour, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, nationality, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, medical condition, veteran status, or other characteristics associated with systemic discrimination or marginalisation.

• Diss tracks are ok as long as they are not targeted towards protected or marginalised groups.

Audio.com does not allow the sharing of personal information (audio recordings or transcriptions of private conversations, full names, unlisted telephone numbers, home and email addresses) of another person or entity without their consent.

• Spam, scams, misinformation, impersonation

• Do not post spam (repetitive content, messages, comments, egregious self-promotion), scams, phishing, and/or misleading metadata (descriptions, tags, titles, or images) that is intended to superficially increase plays.

• Misinformation is content that promotes deceptive, false and dangerous information that can cause harm to others or poses a direct threat to public health. Examples of this could be, but are not limited to, unfounded conspiracy theories relating to vaccines or asserting that life threatening diseases such as Covid-19 are a hoax.

Reporting violations

We want audio.com to be a safe and inclusive platform that encourages creativity.

We recognise that some of the above topics such as drug references or violent crime may be present in certain musical styles or podcast genres, so we ask that you consider the context as well as the author’s artistic licence before reporting violations.

Users who encounter content that violates any of the above policies should report it by emailing social@audio.com (with ‘Content Violation’ in the Subject field and the relevant URLs and screenshots in the email body).
