The reading discusses the importance of breathing and its connection to overall health. It explains that better breathing leads to a better and healthier life, while irregular breathing affects the mind. The body is described as a microcosm of the universe and requires oxygenation for nourishment. Prana, or life force, is found in the air and is carried to all parts of the body. Improper breathing affects organ function, including digestion. The importance of chewing food thoroughly and drinking water mindfully is emphasized. Yoga is defined as a practice that brings a scattered mind to a reflective state and allows communion with divinity. The reading concludes by thanking listeners for joining and mentioning the book's title and author. Hey there, it's Miss Lafalot. Thanks so much for joining us for number 10, the reading of Transcendental Rebirthing by Ivan Koss. So the last sentence was, that their surface covers about 80 to 100 yards squared, which is 40 to 50 times that of the human skin. The lung capacity of great athletes, mountain climbers, and yogis is far greater than that of the ordinary person, allowing them to perform extraordinary feats. Better breathing means a better and healthier life. When the breath is irregular, the mind wavers. When the breath is steady, so is the mind. Our body is a counterpart of the universe, a microcosm within the macrocosm and on the gross, subtle, and spiritual levels. Every particle of the food and drink we must be oxygenating before it can yield us the proper nourishment. We get nourishment from the sun also, through sun yoga. Prana is most accessible to us from the air, but is also found everywhere, even in places where air cannot penetrate. As oxygenated blood is carried to all parts of the body by the circularity system, so is the prana carried to all parts of the nervous system. This life force is used by our acting, willing, thinking, feeling, dreaming, etc. It needs constant replenishing. If a person breathes improperly, all of the organs suffer from the lack of oxygen, including your digestive system. All the food must be absorbed by oxygen from the blood and become oxygenated before it is digested and assimilated. It is also of the utmost importance that you chew your food until it becomes liquid and imbued with saliva, which is the only thing in your body that is alkaline. Subscribe to a yogic motto. Eat your water and drink your food. Yes, it's true, you can chew your food to the point where it disappears down your esophagus without you ever taking a swallow. Compare this yogic eating to people eating habits in the West and the number of people that choke to death on the food every year. Therefore, it is said that you drink your food. When drinking the water, make sure it stays in your mouth for a while until it mixes with saliva. Chew on it. The word yoga derives from Sanskrit root yuj, which means to bind, join, attach, and yoke, to direct and concentrate the attention, to use it for meditation. Yoga, therefore, is the art which brings an incoherent and scattered mind to a reflective and coherent state. Ultimately, it is the communion of the human soul with divinity. There are literally thousands of yoga. In the West, this force is known as the nerve force, life force. That's all today, folks. Thanks for joining number 10 reading of Transcendental Rebirthing by Ivan Koss. This is Miss Laugh-A-Lot. Thank you very much for listening.
