The morning devotion discusses the topic of God keeping his promises. It uses the example of Joseph, who was abandoned and forgotten by those he trusted, but still believed in God's promises. The message is that while people may let us down, God always keeps his promises. We are encouraged to trust in God's promises and put our hope in him. The devotion ends with a memory verse from Joshua 21:45, emphasizing that not a word of God's promises will fail. Music By faithfulness, Lord, each moment we find so true to thy word so loving and kind shalom dearly beloved you are warmly welcome to another episode of our morning glory devotion god bless you for joining in in our just ended prayer startup facilitating this morning's devotion our pastor and mrs amwasa of harvest chapel international let us kindly share a word of prayer precious father we are very thankful for this morning and for the gifts of life we thank you for another opportunity to learn and to share your word please grant us insight and understanding in jesus name amen let us kindly see a confession from joshua 1 verse 8 this book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth but i shall meditate in it day and night but i may observe to do according to all that is written in it for them i will make my way prosperous and then i will have good success amen the topic for this morning's devotion is god keeps his promises god keeps his promises and our scripture reading will be taken from genesis chapter 40 verse 14 i'm reading from the nlc version and please remember me and do me a favor when things go well for you mention me to pharaoh so he might let me out of this place amen god keeps his promises amen after suffering such an ill fate through the betrayal of his brothers joseph many years later was again left abandoned and forgotten by another companion in his life he thought he could depend on it was at this point in joseph's lives when things were literally at a standstill there was no indication that the promises of god concerning his life would be fulfilled he genuinely made his case to pharaoh's butler after he had given the interpretation to his dream he said i'd remember me when it is well with you and please show kindness unto me make mention to me to pharaoh and get me out of this house yet two full years had passed and the butler had totally forgotten about his former prison housemate beloved this scenario plays out in most of our lives when we have to depend on our friends and associates for favors and opportunities many of us have felt disappointed at one point in time by people we have put our trust in remember that friend of yours forgot to put in a good word for you and to give that recommendation you thought was going to be a game changer to open that door for you that uncle forgot to honor his promise of connecting you with another person concerning your job search we have also on our own parts let many others down our friends our colleagues and family members we also have not been able to keep all the promises we have made to people who put their trust in us willfully or otherwise we have not been able to live up to the high expectations others have placed in us so we feel others as others also feel us beloved the good news is that our father in heaven is not a man like us when he makes a promise he always keeps it the promises of god are indeed sure sure than anything else in this world we try to meet promises and we wish to do our best to keep them but we are mere men and we are not perfect and many times we feel are the promises we make when god makes a promise he is perfect and he always keeps it as we read through the bible we see many promises from god beloved each promise is for us and we can trust in it and bunk all of our hopes on it we also read how god made and kept his promises to the great figures of faith for our learning and encouragement the powerful narratives through the lives of abraham isaac jacob joseph prove that indeed god is a dependable god beloved as we set off in this new year let us rest assured that god will stand by his promises concerning our lives he will back his word to you and your family he will remain faithful to his covenant he will go through this year and will at the end of it say just like joshua did that all of god's promises have been fulfilled and none has failed in jesus name amen beloved let's take our memory verse for the morning from joshua chapter 21 the verse 45 joshua chapter 21 the verse 45 not a word failed of any good thing which the lord had spoken to the house of israel all came to pass not a word failed of any good thing which the lord had spoken to the house of israel all came to pass amen adi lord we thank you for your word this morning we thank you for all your rich promises concerning our lives lord we put our trust totally in you we choose to depend on your word this year in every area of our lives we know and even as you order our steps we'll end up in the place where you want us to be amen hallelujah god bless you so much for connecting and being a part of our prayer startup and morning glory devotion we trust that you have been blessed join us same time again tomorrow at six o'clock a.m for a prayer
