The host of the Hawks House podcast discusses the upcoming Seattle Seahawks wild-card game against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are a strong team and the Seahawks are considered underdogs. It will be the third time these teams play each other this season, which could benefit the Seahawks. There are some injury concerns for the Seahawks, but they need to establish the run game early and get DK involved in the passing attack. The tight ends could be a key factor as the 49ers struggle to cover them. Defensively, the Seahawks need to limit the production of the 49ers' wide receivers and put pressure on the quarterback. It will be a tough game, but the Seahawks are determined to fight till the end. Go Hawks! Welcome back to the Hawks house podcast hosted by me a die-hard fan in this episode I will be covering the Seattle Seahawks wild-card game against the San Francisco 49ers and giving my thoughts on what has to happen for the Seahawks to win So as we all know the 49ers are a great all-around team with very little weaknesses It's going to be a very hard game to win and the Seahawks are big underdogs Basically nobody expects them to win. This will be the third time that these two teams play each other this season Which could help the Seahawks out because it is very hard to beat the same team three times in a season Ryan Neal will be back from his knee injury. That's a big upgrade The knee injury has sidelined him for about three games But Shelby Harris and DJ Dallas are both still listed questionable for the game Losing either of them would be a big hit So here is what in my opinion Seattle has to do on offense to at least stay in this game The first and most important thing is that they need to establish the run game But they need to establish it early they can't just wait until the third or fourth quarter to really get it going and Both of the previous games against the 49ers the Seahawks were not able to run the ball Basically at all the first game was with Rashad penny The second game was with Kenneth Walker. Neither of them were able to get it going If they can establish the run game that will obviously help open up the passing attack much more Speaking of the passing attack DK needs to have a much bigger impact than he has had in his last two games Also in the last game against the 49ers It was pretty obvious that char various Ward the 49ers corner is basically going to shadow DK The whole game and make it really hard for him to have any impact. So anytime he catches the ball He's immediately going to see char various in his face. It's going to tire out DK. I Think Tyler needs to be able to take the top off of the defense and catch a deep ball or two That's obviously always an option with Tyler Lockett on the field But I think our biggest our biggest Health help or hope with this game is our tight ends The 49ers defense is amazing Like I said, we all know all of their stars and exposed of Fred Warner and not only just the stars on their team Just everybody is so fast to the ball, but they do have one tiny little weakness and that's covering the tight ends Thankfully we do have two pretty good tight ends and Noah fan and Colby Parkinson that both might be able to have big days I really think we should try to get them involved as much as we can Moving on to defense the 49ers will have Devo Samuel back for this game, which is basically the only difference on offense And in the last game against Seattle our cornerbacks were able to limit the production from the 49ers wide receivers Mainly Brandon Iuke, so I think we need to be able to continue that The problem that we did have on defense in the last game against the Niners was stopping McCaffrey and stopping Kittle Kittle had multiple big catches He also had a big touchdown and he really gave our safeties a hard time Whereas Christian McCaffrey rushed for over a hundred yards pretty easily. I Think our rush defense might be able to do a bit better of a job this game because we have put together two straight games Of limiting the run which will give them confidence Obviously, we're not going to stop Christian McCaffrey it's very hard to stop Christian McCaffrey even with a great run defense and we don't have that as For the Kittle problem. I think it is more important of an aspect is that we are going to need to stop Brock Purdy and not necessarily George Kittle and In my opinion the way we stop or limit Brock Purdy is going to be getting consistent pressure on him Daryl Taylor, Uchenna Nwosu, Boye Mafé and Bruce Irvin are all going to have to continuously get to the quarterback to at least hurry him up I know Brock Purdy has played well through the sacks this year But this is the playoffs where nerves are going to be high, especially for a rookie who has only played like six games If we can get to Purdy Pretty early at least we can cause a couple of error throws and maybe get a sack or two I think there is a chance that we can get Purdy out of his groove for the whole game The team is an uphill battle and there's a reason that the 49ers are a two seed and that Seattle is a seven seed We aren't supposed to win, but if there is one thing that I know It's that Pete Carroll and his team are not scared for one single second of this 49ers team And they're going to fight till the end. So Go Hawks
