Shalom Precious One, thank you for joining us here on Radio HCI today. We are Deacon and Deaconess Kiyosin from the Harvest Chapel International, Denyami Kumasi, and we count it a great honor than us to be coming your way with today's episode of our Morning Glory Devotion. Let us kindly say a word of prayer. Faithful Father, we thank you for this time of studying your word with you. Please teach us like never before. In Jesus' name, Amen. Let us kindly take our confession from Joshua Chapter 1, Verse 8. Joshua Chapter 1, Verse 8. This book of the law shall not depart from my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success, Amen. Today we bring you the second part of the series titled, Hearing from God. Hearing from God. And in this second episode, we attempt to answer the question, Who does God speak to? Who does God speak to? Our scripture reading shall be taken from John Chapter 15, Verses 14 to 15. John Chapter 15, Verses 14 to 15. I will be reading from the New Living Translation. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves because a master doesn't confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends since I have told you everything the Father told me. The Lord add his blessings to the reading and hearing of his word. Amen. Hearing from God. Who does God speak to? In our previous episode, we provided sufficient justification to backtrace the truth that God still speaks even today. As a result of his love and great concern for man, he won't keep mute. He still has a lot to say to us. Today, we'll look at another aspect of hearing from God, answering the question, Who does God speak to? Does God have a selected group of people he speaks to? To let the cart out of the bag rather a bit too early, the answer is a simple no. The God of all the earth, the creator of the universe, is not restricted as to who he speaks to. By his sovereign power and rights, he chooses whomsoever he wishes to communicate with. He spoke to righteous Abraham, an unrighteous king, and so, by inference from the many examples in the scriptures, God can speak to the saved and the lost, the believer and the atheist, the rich and the poor, the pastor and the newly born believer, and even little children. In short, God can speak to anyone and everyone, including you and me. However, despite God's non-restriction, from the scriptures, we can clearly see him make us do a habit of speaking to a special group of people, people like Abraham, the disciples of Jesus, Samuel, David, etc. With Abraham, he declared in Genesis 18 verse 17 that he would not hide from him what he was about to do, as due to confide in him. Of the disciples, in Mark 4 verse 34, they had the privilege of having Jesus privately explain to them all the parables he used, parables he never explained in public. He even told them plenty of things concerning his death and resurrection, secret things he never told anyone. All these people had one thing in common, they were close friends of God. They had a close and sincere relationship with the Father. No wonder Abraham was described as a friend of God in James chapter 2 verse 23 and so were the disciples in John chapter 15 verse 15. And so, just as men are free to speak with anyone but only confide and make a habit of sharing their intimate conversations with people they call close friends, so does God. In other words, God can speak to anyone but he habitually speaks to those he calls his friends, those who revere and honor him, those who do his every command, those who have decided to make him a close friend. Precious beloved, just as we learned in our previous episode, God has a lot he wants to tell you and me, all his plans and purposes of bringing us to unexpected end. He yearns to tell us all of this and more. He yearns for our friendship so that we may hear it all first hand from him. Precious beloved, it is good to be a child of God but it is better to be a close friend of God. Do all you can to become a friend of God today. God richly bless you. Let us take our memory verse from Psalm 25 verse 14. I will be reading from the English Standard Version. The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. Amen. Let us kindly share a word of prayer. Our loving Father, we thank you for the blessing of this truth. We thank you for your earnest desire to speak to us as friends. We receive grace to become your true friends in Jesus' name. Amen. God richly bless you for listening to today's Morning Glory Devotion. As you begin your day, accept God's invitation of friendship, for he earnestly desires to speak to you. Join us same time tomorrow as we dive deeper into the subject of hearing from God, answering the question, how does God speak? God richly bless you. Shalom.
