Jordan Love, the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, has signed a one-year contract extension worth $22.5 million, with a guaranteed sum of $13.5 million for 2024. The Packers offered Love the option to either extend his contract or exercise his fifth-year option. Love chose the contract extension, indicating that he feels he still has a lot to prove as a player. Some fans have criticized the decision, but others, including the podcast host, are supportive and believe that Love has the potential to succeed. The Packers have also added more weapons to their offense through the draft, and despite being in a rebuilding phase, they hope Love can lead them back to the playoffs in the future. Welcome Packers fans, today we have a new update on your son, Jordan Love, this is the biggest news for me. So welcome back guys to THG Podcast, I'm your host Tony, and today Jordan Love just got paid for a one year contract. So from what I know so far, the Packers did not want to give, they gave Jordan Love the option of, did you want to go your fifth year option, or did you want us to just extend your contract for one more year. And I guess the Packers did so, they both agreed on both terms, like hey let's do this. So for what Jordan Love is getting from his contract is $22.5 million, plus a $13.5 million guarantee for 2024. And the option, if the Packers wanted to do that too, the Packers would have paid him $20.27 million and fully guaranteed. So I believe the Packers kind of understood, and Jordan Love also understood that Jordan Love has a lot to prove. And I think for him, it is my best, my opinion, is that he believes that he has not achieved enough to get that much money, to earn that fifth year option. It's just to me, me as a player, or me as a fan, we want to see ourselves to improve ourselves, right? We want to see ourselves to achieve greatness and achieve our goals. And for Jordan Love, I think that's the reason why he took that extension for that one year. Because he believes that he has not proved himself yet to us. And so, I kind of understand that perspective, because everyone is going on the negative side saying, dude, this guy just came off the bench, and you're giving him this much money? He hasn't done anything yet. He just played one game. He played a half a game against the Eagles, and a full game against the Lions. So you guys, you can't blame him for that, because it wasn't his fault. And that's the reason why I hate some Packer fans who are just putting so much negativity on Jordan Love. And I said multiple times and multiple times before, is that whatever the Packers decide to do, I'm going to support them and go with it. Because you can't tell the Packers GM, hey, don't do this. He's not going to sue you. He's not going to make a double-dig his decision, no. Your voice, yes. I understand us. We have podcasts for a reason, to give our opinions and to kind of give our perspective in sports. But you're just a guy, and you don't have any kind of podcast or whatever, social media types of some sort, and you're just kind of talking so much trash, saying Jordan Love ain't that, Jordan Love ain't all this. And yet, why don't you make a podcast about it, say something about it? So like I said, the only fans I can deal with is the ones that are supportive. I get it. There are times where you have to be truthful. There are times where I say, hey, there are times where if Jordan Love does not play well, then he doesn't play well. I would tell him, I would say straight up, he needs to do better. But as of now, for him to earn this much money, it's a win-win for both sides. If the Packers give him the fifth-year option, they would be paying him a 20-minute guarantee. So do you want that, or would you rather have the 22.5 and a 13.5 guarantee money? So now, at this point, to me, as a Packers fan, I am just going to support what the Packers want to do. And I have already bought a Jordan Love jersey. I know I bought it too soon already, and that's okay. I believe Jordan Love can be that guy for us, for sure, for us Packers fans. We've been waiting for this time for him, and the Packers have gotten more weapons for him too. And in the draft, I think the draft was amazing. They gave Jordan Love and two new tight ends and a new wide receiver. And I think we will draft two more wide receivers in the later rounds, which is fine too. Just going to fill in the depth chart for the Packers. So right now, the Packers are starting really young. They are no longer a playoff team as of now. They are in a rebuild mode. I believe that maybe the next few years or so, Jordan Love can get us back to the playoffs, for sure. So this is all I got for this episode today, just a little small update on what's going on. And I know a lot of people, like I said before, are being so negative about it. I'm just being positive. I'm just being happy. That guy has nothing to talk about for this week besides the draft. And I've been busy with playing the Star Wars Jedi Survivor game. I've been spending a lot of time on that for the past week. So excuse me if I'm late on the draft, or I'm late on this too. But just kind of get this out to let my Packers fans know that, hey, we just had to support Jordan Love. There shouldn't be any negativity against him. He has done nothing wrong. He's been on the bench for three years. I believe it is time for him to start shining, to get out there, to show us what he got. So until next time guys, thank you for watching, thank you for listening. I'll see you guys on the next one. See you guys later.
