Professional development should be provided to help teachers incorporate more phonological awareness into daily lessons. It is also suggested that teachers receive training on standards in grades above and below their current grade level to better understand student performance. If students are not performing at grade level, phonological awareness assessments can help bring them up. Recommendations. I included this quote because I feel that teachers should be provided professional development on the standards in the grades above and below their current grade level to help gather an understanding of where the student should ideally be performing and if they are not performing where they need to be we can use phonological awareness assessments to help bring the students up to grade level.
