Again, my name is Margie Patino, I am the wife of Pastor Jesse Patino and welcome to my podcast, Pastor's Wife. First, before we even start, you know such an atmosphere, choice of music, hey I got jazz on. But then again, I said I am a pastor but we are going to be talking from the heart today. We are going to put all titles away, everything that you have labeled on you today and I want you to come just as God created us. Amen. Whether you are a man, whether you are a woman, the heart is the heart and we are going to have a discussion on the heart tonight. You know we go through social media these days and you know I have my share of you know things I upload, things I talk about but have you ever noticed you know when we get into the conversations of life, we always have to find other people's words to fit our situation. You know often our issues are in life is that we were never taught how to express what our heart says, little key words, importance. You know we don't see ourselves as important, as necessary. We don't see ourselves that the same things that people talk about every day that it is actually instilled within us. You know we were created as man, these beings that I mean you know the word of God even says that we are a little higher than the angels so this tells me when God had put me in the position to be as an image of God. How we have the opportunity to carry a character of God. You know unfortunately growing up not everybody has you know the cheerleaders on your side as you're running down pressing, pressing for the mark you know and actually some of us we learn about God maybe at a later time in our life that you know came through either a trauma or even you know a time that was really hard in our lives but today I want to just talk on something so simple that we complicate all the time. We complicate it you know if we feel happy we want to complicate it and we want to point out there what made us happy, how it made us happy, what I feel you know what emotions came with it you know but sometimes happiness is not always an emotional thing. Sometimes happiness can be displayed in how we walk, how we talk, reading and I was trying to read this book and this book was talking about how to read body language of other people. You know it cracked me up because in our society today we have either become so closed in or so callous to the just to the joys and the things to experience in life it's like we make up excuses not to feel the joy, we make up excuses not to have the conversation that you know is good for us. We make excuses of why we can't go out because if we go out we can't actually enjoy the moment unless we had someone or something or some substance that is in our company you know and it's sad because you know we were created to be created to be unique not one of us is created the same you know our hair is different the number of our hairs are different from our fingerprints to our feet you know and this society today is always trying to figure out who somebody is by the way that their body or their flesh is molded. Like you know I laugh at the fact that people can literally identify people through their toes you know the position of the toes or how long the toes are or how big the feet is wide or I don't know but they were able to distinguish from where they came from isn't that crazy just like our fingerprint can distinguish who we are it can tell our identity because at one time in our life somebody tracked that identity somebody made a print of our identity you know just like you know we walk every day you know I think back in the I mean honestly in the time that I from the time that I was growing up to experiencing from I would I would say elementary school to teenage life you know we come across these things in our life like music and movies and you know I always like the old films I don't know what was it I don't know maybe because they weren't so noisy you know you were focused in on what the movie was trying to show you like it was not hard to miss like today there's got to be so much chaos and so much loudness and so much activity to keep our attention back then it was simple it was peace everything was like like an orchestra everything just played so in tune you know but now if you look at what our generation is watching today if you look at what the younger generation is watching today everything is so dramatic everything is so spiritual everything is just so supernatural or so much fantasy put in it that we are losing the reality of who we are because we want to add something to us because of what we've seen in people or what we heard from the movie and it might be something like Teenage Ninja Turtles or to Thor or all these superheroes you know because right now in this generation we're looking for a hero we're looking for someone to look up to we're looking to someone that is going to inspire us we're looking at someone that is going to make us feel what we need to feel in order to feel alive and for some we're so dead that we end up doing ignorant things we go and jump off a cliff or go and jump off a bridge or we go and swim with the sharks or we go and you know we want to be in this fear factor stuff where you know you want to face your fears you know and what we don't realize is sometimes it's not the more that we need it's the less you know I had a current situation you know the situations of life I guess and for some you know I've told my situations and they seem like my life is just so so wow you know because right now we're going through a struggle I know all y'all are going through struggles but can we be real about it because remember this is discussion of the heart this is this is something coming out of the soul you know to remind us to motivate us to inspire us you know and and the thing about it is is we have to come to an understanding that more is not always necessarily what God intended for you to have in order to feel alive it's more of him more peace more love more joy you know and and I honestly believe that our generation today doesn't know how to experience it and we get angry because we demand the love and the respect and the honor but a lot of us don't know what that is you know a lot of us it was an example in our life you know a lot of us people dropped us people failed us in that category you know some of us didn't have everything that a child needed when they were in school that's why a lot of us did not develop the way we were supposed to develop academically you know the parents relied on the schools because the parents were the ones out there working and depending on where you go to school is going to depend on how educated you get the reason I'm saying that is because sometimes in the school districts you know you're more a babysitter than you are a teacher like I cracked up during the COVID I mean everybody went viral right okay we all went viral and then I think there was even a point that one of the teachers with one of my kids was basically like well you know the answers are on this line but I'm just saying you know we do the test but there is a glitch in it in other words these kids were able to go in and they were able to see all the answers answer all the answers right and they pass the test yeah great okay they they passed that year but how much knowledge did they obtain it was a quick quick fix quick fix quick fix and then that joy of accomplishing something really was a false identification of what we expected if we really tried hard but instead we got a quick fix so this knowledge that was obtained was probably lost right after you completed the assignment because there was not no study there was no meditation there was no no real yearning to want to learn they I guess what I'm saying to that discussion of the heart discussion of the heart you know you know growing up I was always basically one of those childs do as I say not as I do kind of child and and you know there was a lot of things that we pick up along the way from our parents especially if our parents aren't too safe you know what I mean then hallelujah but I guess we have to learn to inspire ourself you know if you got these areas of depression in your life if you got these areas of what they call anxiety because we're anxious all the time because we don't know what to expect we don't know what's to come but I'm here to tell you today that I'm a walk-in testimony amen I'm a walk-in testimony of what is possible what can be created in one's life that has no understanding no knowledge of what a healthy family can look like amen but I want to inspire you today I was inspired by some quotes that I heard and I have to daily inspire myself half of the time because sometimes you know I don't know if you're like me sometimes you can just go off the deep end when you think because sometimes you get so grateful you know that you can sound arrogant to someone when in reality they don't understand how much it took to have the courage to be able to say things you say today or look the way you do today or take a selfie of yourself when many in your life had called you ugly disgusting pitiful you know they felt sorry for you but really in reality it was a controlling mechanism so you would not express what you knew was true about yourself see sometimes people with insecurities would want to sit there and dominate what's good in you because they can't produce that that you have so it becomes a thing that is envious it becomes a thing that is offending because there's something deep down within themselves that know they want that you know what I'm saying not so much to be like you because nobody really truly wants to be like you but they want to have these qualities that you have carried out and walked out but what they don't understand a lot of the qualities that we obtain in our life come through a lot of pain one of my sisters today posted on Facebook you know about the DNA of God because it was preached this morning by my Apostle Calvin Hines and he made a good point you know the only way of obtaining the DNA of God in other words the only way of obtaining the character of God in our life or the character of the statues and what the Word of God says that we are to walk in because it images who God is and his character in order to be able to walk all this stuff out people there's going to be some pain in your life and sometimes the pain can come with knowing you have to give something up that you have done for ages that you have made a place in your life for that thing that continues to eat at your soul that you know for a fact that it will drag you down if it let you know I was going online and I get fascinated by historical you know famous quotes you know of powerful women and the reason why I say powerful women is because you know sometimes a woman needs to know what they're capable of you know sometimes a woman needs to know that even as our place as our person as how society sees us because I'm going to tell you right now as a woman we still are not fully accepted we still are not really honestly taken serious in a lot of roles in our life which I believe that made room for what we should say not common impossible you know because a lot of people still have not accepted the fact that women can succeed in areas that men felt that they were all the only ones to be able to succeed in that area you know when you get a chance at something you know you have one time to present yourself you have one time and how you present yourself as a woman is going to determine how people look at you amen we have to understand as women we can lead our lives we can determine what we want in our life we can determine how we are going to focus on things we can determine how we're going to run our house these are just things that should already be happening amen I mean we are in a generation that that basically girls don't know how to sew girls don't know how to cook girls don't know how to be wives girls don't know how to you know modest you know modesty is just gone completely out of the window and I can't even talk because when I got saved modesty just was not my forte I mean I was taught different I watched I learned you know and that's what we don't understand as mothers as parents as fathers we don't understand that everything that we example in our life our kids will take from that might not come out in the same situations that we grew up in but it's going to come out and the thing about it is and then when we begin to see our character kind of manifest in our kids it's not always the good stuff and that's funny and then we want to get mad at them because all of a sudden we see ourselves yelling back at us or we see ourselves cussing back at us I mean come on let's be real you know this is this is open for discussion you know because you know we cannot be so religious minded we're no earthly good we have to understand that we can have Christ in our homes but also we need a building up of ourselves God didn't intend us to be insecure you know in fact you know I mean come on Romans 8 1 and 2 and you know it talks about I am free from condemnation we have this the spirit of condemnation in this days where we're always we're always down in ourselves we're always talking about ourselves we're always putting ourselves down you know God says that I am secure in him so why is it so hard for us not to understand that we are secure that we have a right to be secure God put those qualities in us to be able to walk confident not con condemned on everything we do amen in fact you know God even went as far as to say in Romans 8 28 I am assured that all things work together for good so why do we why do we fret why do we get upset why do we why are we so passionate about what we feel and what we need to get out you know God says that we can do all things that we can be secure in him so why can't we walk that with peace why we always got to be so on target about making everything chaotic and making people hear us and and listen to us and mind us you know come on people we got it we got to step up our game a little bit you know because the second 2nd Corinthians 1 21 and 22 it talks about I have been established and anointed and sealed by God so why do we get upset about it why do we doubt ourselves why do why do we get to this point where we truly take the Word of God lightly you know if God says that he's going to do it you know and in fact in the times that we can't walk I want you to remember this you know God said that we are hidden with Christ in God it says I am hidden with Christ in God we get so off court I'll tell you why because sometimes we want to pick and choose what we want or how we want to act or what we think that should happen amen when actually there's nothing getting away from God I mean he is our source he is our channel he's in fact in John 15 1 and 5 it talks about I am the branch of the true vine in a channel of his life I am a channel of his life people in fact John 15 16 says I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit so not only are we connected to the vine but on our end as connected to the bond we are able to produce fruit I mean in that what he said he said I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit so he said it's going to happen right and in fact let's go a little deeper 2nd Corinthians 5 17 through 20 read it it says I'm a minister a minister of reconciliation so it's in our DNA to be able to reconcile situations it's in our DNA to produce peace in a chaotic situation it's in our DNA to be able to command the atmosphere to be still and peace it's crazy huh it's crazy especially when we have come to the point where we realize from a certain part in our life at a certain age in our life we stop producing we stop producing of God and from that point on because see we're producing from God the day we were born right but then when sin comes in our in our life or the actions of other people is what corrupts our nurturing from God and in fact if the parent does not nurture the child with the things of God there's a chance that that child grows up not knowing God unless there is someone put in its path to show them why we were created that nurtures them with encouraging words that nurtures them with the milk of the word to the point where the milk of the word becomes the meat of the word how awesome is that I mean seriously how awesome is that we were created to thrive we were created to build up we were created to um in fact we were created as a temple of God did you know that we're the temple of God so everything that is DNA of God is within the temple we are the temple of God in fact if you if you don't believe me read it in first Corinthians 3 16 it says I am God's temple it it it tells you clear that we are the temple of God amen so why do we doubt why do we doubt that we cannot thrive in times that we need to thrive why is it that we allow things to to diminish what God said is sacred you know why do we allow you know the enemy to lie to us through words through traumas through situations in our life yes things things have come in our life and for a lot of us and I know I can speak from experience some of the things were so traumatic there were times that it almost killed me sometimes some things were so traumatic that it meant it messed up my mental state see our mind has already been been programmed well you know to receive what is of God but see what it is as we tweaked it and we bent it and we shifted it and we compromised it to the point that all of a sudden we want to say God knows my heart no no no that ain't how it plays out people oh right you know I just want to I just want to encourage you today because you know we've got to understand that Ephesians 3 12 it says I may approach God with freedom and confidence do you understand what I just said we can approach God with freedom and confidence in fact in Philippians 4 13 it says I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me so that means because I can do that then gives me the right to approach God with freedom and confidence because it says it in Ephesians 3 12 all things through Christ who strengthens me Christ strengthens me I can do all things because in Philippians 4 13 it tells me so so this tells me that whatever is in the word of God if it is written in the in the word of God guess what people it's life to you it's life to your situation it's changed to your situation it actually makes you feel significant with God because God is saying it God said it Matthew 5 13 reminds us I am salt and light of the earth right okay this I can be the salt and light of the earth that means I don't have to conform to how the earth is I don't have to conform to the sadness I don't have to conform to the struggle I don't have to conform to everything that has happened in my life that was meant to destroy it and knock me down and take me out yeah things are going to come our way things are going to hit us really really really hard people but God reminds us in 2nd Timothy 1 7 it says I have not given a spirit of fear but of power love and of sound mind and in fact in Hebrews 4 16 God reminds me all the time I can find grace and mercy in time of need in fact in John what first John 5 18 I am born of God and the evil one cannot touch me you know we are born again people and when we come in as believers of Christ and I'm talking to the believer I'm talking to the believer when you have taken that stand when you have made up in your mind that you are a believer of Christ guess what benefits come with that benefits come with things we have to conquer every single day from the time that we wake up to the time we go to sleep but I just wanted to thank you for your attending on my broadcast today I hope this was an encouragement to you I hope this lifted you up I hope this inspired you and if you didn't get nothing out of this nothing at all I hope you get this you are loved of God your creator knew exactly what he was doing when he made you he knew exactly the way you were born was going to be an inspiration for somebody to watch your life if we keep that in our hearts and we understand that every day we wake up is for somebody to watch for somebody to have a confidence knowing that man she got through it I can get through it she did it I can do it we can do all things to Christ he says lean on your brother he says he's closer than a brother if you don't have your brother close Jesus says I will be your brother he says I will be your daddy I will be your husband I will be your mother amen he says that he can be all things all things to us amen so I
