The speaker, Master Margie, introduces a podcast where they discuss matters of the heart and how we see ourselves. They mention a sermon by Apostle Calvin Hines on encountering God and how we perceive ourselves. The analogy of a mirror is used to highlight the importance of self-reflection. The speaker discusses how looking in the mirror can reveal lies, hurt, and offense. They emphasize the need to be careful of our thoughts and how they shape our character. The speaker encourages envisioning a preferred future and not wasting thoughts on those who don't appreciate them. They discuss the importance of renewing our minds with the Word of God and not letting our minds drift into envy or negative thinking. The speaker also talks about the power of our words and the need for self-discipline. They emphasize the importance of seeing ourselves in a positive light and not focusing on what's wrong. Hey everybody this is Master Margie. I'm coming to you through our podcast Inspired Cafe where we just talk about certain topics. Putting all positions aside we're just basically having discussion of the heart and how we are to see ourselves versus how we see ourselves. Before we go into our podcast this evening I just want to start off with a small prayer. Amen. Father God we just thank you Father for your inspired word this evening. We ask that you just speak to our hearts and indirectly that we may know what it is that you would have us for your will to be done. Amen. Father change our speech, change our prayer, allow us to see what you see in us. Amen. Hallelujah. I want to talk a little bit on we had an inspired word. In fact it's been going on now for two Sundays and Apostle Calvin Hines of Life Church is speaking on an encounter with God. It has inspired me because there was a part in the sermon that really ministered to me. He was talking about how we see ourselves and he used the analogy of a mirror. I don't know if anybody has ever done this but to look in the mirror and really look at yourself is one thing but to look into your eyes and really see yourself is another. Amen. He explained how the eyes are very important. How we look in the mirror and we can expose what it is that appears on the outside. Amen. Sometimes we have to be careful because our outside can at times not match up with what's within. What we see at times, Apostle brought how we can be in denial of how we really see. Some of the things when he was preaching it brought to my attention just the walk that I've been through, the journey I've been through. At times when we look in the mirror we can see lies about ourselves because we know what the truth is. Amen. We can see hurt, things that maybe we have done to ourselves have caused in our life or maybe it was something that other people have done. Anger, a lot of times anger comes in so many ways that even we can be in denial we can look at anger as being a confidence, as a run to, as a... Anger can trick you into thinking, oh it's about me now. I need to do me. And actually that is so far from the truth. Amen. Sometimes too in the mirror we can see offense because when we look in the mirror and we really pay attention to what we see in that mirror, at times we can see the offense, we can see the hurt that people brought on us. And sometimes it can manifest through and you will see yourself age. I know I did. I think in just one year my whole head turned white. Why? Because I allowed stress to get to me. I allowed people's words to get to me. I have allowed myself to be disrespected by others. And through all this, what we think we're being humble about, really in a sense, it's ignorance. Because God would never have us to walk that way. God would never have us to really put ourselves in situations where it is affecting our spirit. I know that he refers to some scripture which we're going to look up in a minute. We have to understand that as a man thinketh, so is he. This is scripture in the word of God. And in fact we can find it in Proverbs 23.7 and let me just read it to you. Because it says, for as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Eat and drink, he says to you, but his heart is not with you. The more so you have eaten, you will vomit up and waste your pleasant words. Do not speak in hearing of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words. I want to speak more on vision. I want to go back to the mirror. Because we have to be careful how we see ourselves. Because we can be that one who speaks death on ourselves. We can be the only one we're hanging around and all we have is come with negative words out of our own mouth. So in a sense, this can also refer to how we sit with ourselves. What we are giving ourselves to eat. What we are giving ourselves to see. What we are giving ourselves to hear. All of this is from Proverbs the 23rd chapter and I read from 7 on down to 9. Now, with that being said, let's kind of pick it apart a little bit. And what I want to inspire you today to do is that I want you to vision, hope for a preferred future. And what I mean by that is so many of us, we have at times been our own fool. We have been the fool to fool ourselves into what we're not. What we can't do. What is impossible. Or what is not allowed because we think it's a race thing. We think it's something that has to do with totally different from us. And just because we look different, sound different, or we perceive things different, we honestly believe that we are not capable. I want to go in and talk about hope for a preferred future. Amen. We have read Proverbs 23 and I read to you 7 through 9. Amen. And so I want to take you to just something to chew on. In verse 7, I want to reread that to you. It says, Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words. In other words, your thoughts determine your character. Amen. And also I want to read that part that says, for he will despise the words of your wisdom. Be careful of your thoughts. They may break into words at any time. Especially with us that really try to retrain our mind because lots of us, we were brought up into the understanding and the statutes of the word. A lot of us were maybe in a religion that differs from our beliefs now. And I'm not trying to put down nobody's religion or anything like that. This is on a personal note. Basically, don't waste your thoughts on those who don't hunger for them. In other words, that's why Jesus says, don't throw your pearls before swine. Because for what? You know, you're wasting. You're wasting. And this word that God gave tonight is very important because I always felt like I had to explain myself. I always felt like I had to explain why God gave me that. I had to explain why I was feeling that. Because I guess in the way that I was feeling, I always had in the back of my mind, no matter what I said, you know, I can offend others. And you know what? Honestly, when it comes to the word of God, it does not truly matter what people think, especially when they are not trusting God or in the word of God or walking with God. You know, we're always so concerned about what the world thinks about us. I can tell you right now the world don't even care what it does or what it says. It doesn't care if it offends you. It doesn't care if it hurts you. Okay, so that's why it's good to get an understanding of God's word concerning us. In fact, let me go to verse 12. And it says, 23, 12. It says, apply your heart and instruction in your ears to words of knowledge. In other words, what the word of God is saying is the first person you lead is you. And the first origin you master is in your mind. And that's why God says it's very important to renew our minds with the word of God. It's like we're coming into an atmosphere of complete miracle. These are our superstitions, you know, because we all got superstitions in one way or another before we came to Christ, especially if you're in the culture of the Latinas or Latinos or growing up Hispanic, growing up Mexican, there has always been stories. I think in every generation, in every culture, we all have a story to tell about our culture, you know, how we conquered things, how there were miracles drawn, how things were invented, whatever it may be. But today I want to talk about the renewing of our mind, because so many people today have really took to heart what people say they were or what they were to, how do you say, become. Amen. So let's go to verse 17. Amen. 23, 17 says, Do not let your heart envy sinners, but be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day. So this is telling me, again, the first person you lead is you and the first origin you manage is in your mind. Also, don't let your mind drift away from God's truth and into vain envy. So many times we, and I can speak from experience. Let me talk about me. Okay. When we get saved and we are in Christ, you know, there is a change in our life. And I know everybody has it in one way, one fashion, one form. God has created a miracle of some sort in your life. And if you haven't seen miracles that happen in your life daily, then you need to go back and reexamine your heart. Because see, God lives in our heart. The Holy Spirit is within our heart, you know, and everything that the word of God says that is truth that we apply in our life. And we, we began to train our mind to believe and we began to trust our heart because the word of God begins to imprint upon our heart. Because I don't know about you, but when I was saved, I had an enormous transformation in my life. You know, I was raised very hard because I came from hard women. My words were very hard, very coarse, and very sharp. In other words, if I didn't like you, I was going to make sure that you feel who I am. And lots of times it's through our words. Our words can be sarcastic, but hurtful. We can be sarcastic, but demeaning. We can be sarcastic, but belittling. But we see it as a joke. But God sees it as death. Because whatever we speak out of our mouth, it brings either death or life. Okay, so let me stop right there. Okay, I want you to go to 2319. In 2319, it says here, my son, and be wise and guide your heart in the way. Guide the heart in the way. Okay, this is telling you, discipline your thoughts to remain steadfast in what you know is right. We have to discipline ourselves. And discipline, for anybody that knows, growing up, we were always disciplined. Why? Because either we acted foolishly or we caused harm to someone. Whatever it may be, we have to be very careful that our thoughts do not get the best of us. Amen. Okay, and I want to go back to the mirror. Okay, and Pastor, he made it very clear. Stop telling me something ain't right. Okay, he kept using that analogy. Stop telling me something ain't right. How many times have we looked at ourselves and really said something ain't right. And we fool ourselves like we don't know what's going on, but we know very well what's going on. We understand what's real. We understand everybody has a plan. Amen. We all have a plan. We all have a place that God knows, but nobody else knows about. Amen. What is the heart? And God, this was very powerful. And Apostle said, God can only bless what he spoke. So, this is required to know. He is not obligated to bless out of his will. He is not. And thank God for his mercy because God says he will have mercy on whom he will have mercy. Why? Because a lot of us are still growing. A lot of us are still trying to get an understanding of who we are in Christ. A lot of us are trying to find our purpose in God. We are trying to find our purpose in how we can serve the kingdom in this world today. Amen. Have you ever asked yourself why we do what we do? Have you ever wondered why we do what we do? Is it because it was something we learned as a child? Is it something that we experienced as a teenager? Is it something that our parents instilled in us of why we are doing what we do today that we know in our heart is either hurting somebody or hurting ourselves? We have to be very careful. We have to really look at the purpose of why we do what we do. If we actually really understood why we do what we do, at times, honestly, when we look in that mirror, we won't do it. Let's talk on addiction. Have you ever been in an addiction so bad that when you look in the mirror, it's nothing like what you know you're supposed to look like? Have you ever been in an addiction to where your character and how you present yourself before people? You look in the mirror on that substance and you begin to see the spirit of that substance manifest in your character, in how you dress, how you walk. I'll give you a different instance. I was a really heavy alcoholic. In fact, I don't even think my mom knows, but I started drinking at a very young age. I had to be about 11 years old. I would sneak stuff, especially over the summers when I visited my father. My father was a heavy alcoholic, so he had to hide his hooch, and that's what he called it, hooch. He had to hide his whiskey from my grandmother or my grandfather. Children are very smart. I was very smart. I found those locations. Or at times, my dad would say, hey, just sneak back in and I want you to go get what he needed me to get. Isn't that funny? How we learn from how we are taught. So I learned to be manipulating. I learned to lie. I learned to be deceitful. I learned to hide. Isn't that what Adam and Eve did? They knew instruction, and the apostles taught this on Sunday. They knew instruction, people. God gave instruction. God told us how we were supposed to present ourselves. God told us what we are not to eat of. God told us what is bad for us. God told us. He instructs us in His Word how conversation we have to be aware of. In fact, I've got to read this to you. There was a part in the chapter of 20, 23. In fact, it's the first chapter. It says, when you sit down to eat with a ruler, consider carefully what is before you. So this is telling me, if we know that we are in position, people, if we know that we are a beacon of light to so many people, and we know that we sit before the anointed of God, we have to consider carefully what is before you. In fact, in the same chapter, oh my gosh, God talks about here, where it says in verse 13 of 23, it says, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. Okay. So there was some good that came out of my instruction from my mother. My dad really did not, he really did not teach me much. My dad was more like, when I was with him, it was almost kind of like we're making up for time. I want to emphasize on, hold on one minute. Verse 10, it says, do not remove the ancient landmarks, nor enter the fields of the fatherless, for the Redeemer is mighty. He will plead their cause against you. Amen. This right here, people, this right here is very important. Watch how you talk about the anointed of God. Watch how you talk about your leaders in position. Watch how you talk about new believers in Christ. Because I love this fact, and this is a fact, people. You know, when you come into the kingdom of God and you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, there is not a 90-day probation. There is not a 30-day probation. God does not have you on probation saying, okay, if you mess up, I'm going to kick you out of the kingdom. No, we're not on a probation, people. We are believers of Christ. But, be careful, because there are those like myself that are fatherless. Therefore, what God is emphasizing here, be careful of the fatherless because, thank you, Jesus, He will raise the standard against those that come against His anointing. You know, I try to emphasize this so much with believers in this church. Watch how you talk about your apostle and watch how you talk about your apostle elect. Watch how you talk about your elders in the church. My gosh, there is just no respect these days. There is no respect for the house of God anymore and how people address the anointed of God. I'm not saying that we float on clouds and that we are exempt from all the hell that we face today in this world. No, no, no, no. But, you have to understand that when you come into the kingdom of God, even as a new creation of God, I mean, this new, brand new, sunken baby. When you come into the kingdom of God, God is showing you right here, people. There is no probation period. They are believers of the Most High. They are the child of God. They are the elect. They are priests. They are ambassadors of Christ, people. You cannot gossip in the church. You cannot talk about people in the church. You cannot even, just anything that would cause a flame to bring discomfort to anybody, anything that would become a stumbling block to a believer of any age, any age, you better caution yourself. Amen. Because it's in God's Word. It's in God's Word, people. And we have to understand that we serve a God that believes His Word. He will act on His Word. If you speak the Word into existence, He will honor His Word. The reason a lot of us don't have prayers answered is because we have not learned the language. We have not learned the love of God. We have not learned our strength in God. We have not learned the power of the Holy Spirit and who we were created to be and walk in. The beautiful thing about it is, is that when Jesus went to heaven, when He ascended up into heaven, He said, people, He will send a comforter to comfort us. But also He said, no greater things would you do in My name. So, if we are to do greater things, that means that we should be able to walk so much in the power of God that healing manifests, that illnesses have to go, that cancers have to flee, that even demons that try to walk up into the church in an atmosphere that is holy before God, that God is moving, that the Holy Spirit is moving, what are we fearful of? Why do we doubt? We doubt because we look at ourselves. God didn't say that we were going to move in the flesh and greater things. No, people, the Spirit of God that abides in us will operate in us through His Word, through the power of God, and through His anointing that breaks every yoke over us, ourselves first, because we can't set anybody free if we are not free ourselves. Amen? We cannot set anybody free unless we are free ourselves. Let me say that one time. We cannot set anybody free if we are not free ourselves. So, give God a praise right there. Hallelujah. You know, if you, I think it's Proverbs 24, 7. It says, Wisdom is too lofty for a fool. He does not open his mouth in the gate. Amen? I love this. And if you go back to 5, it says, A wise man is strong. Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength. How do we increase strength, people? Through the Word of God. If we know who we are, we can walk in who we are, and when things come at us and words come at us, they will not be effective because we understood who we are. Because it goes on in 24, 6. It says, For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, and in a multitude of counselors there is safety. Amen? So, this is telling me, too, come on, people. We've got to get back to church. You know, and I'm guilty of this, you know, because we experience so much church hurt. Being a pastor, it's really hard because at times, you know, we have to be careful who we tell people things, and we have to be careful where we go. We have to be careful where we present ourselves. In other words, if you're going to go into the devil's garden, you can't expect to be safe in that area because you chose to go outside of the will of God into a place where you know you are not safe. It's so funny how we expect to go into the devil's territory where we know we're not supposed to be, where we know it is familiar to our past. And we have conquered, and God has given us the ability to stand, and we want to go back to that stuff and use it as an excuse that, well, I'm going to go minister. No, baby, please. You know, God won't even launch you out like that until you are grounded in the word. Until you know in your heart that you understand who you are, you understand what you walk in, and you understand who you walk with. We have to understand that, people. We have to understand that. But let me read this to you again. He does not open his mouth in the gate. He who plots to do evil will be called a schemer. The devising of foolishness is sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to man. If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Let me stop right there. Okay. So I have read 24 starting at 5, and I read to 9. I want you to hear this fast, because this is a powerful thing. Verse 10 says, if you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. People, where does our strength come from? Our strength comes through fasting. Our strength comes through fellowship with the brethren at church, in unity, in corporate prayer, in corporate worship. There is something about unity in corporate with God. Because when we can come in unity, because that's, I mean, it's the Word of God, right? If one or two are gathered in my name, I am in the midst, Jesus said. So, when we come in unity to worship, when we come in unity to receive the Word of God, when we come in unity in prayer as corporate, things have to change. Things have to change. Why? Because God has to do what he says he will do, people. Come on. This is powerful in itself. And, you know, I have to stop right here. I have to stop right here. But what we came to understand, and this is what I was talking about, we have to look in the mirror. We really have to analyze ourselves. We have to really analyze what comes out of our mouth. We have to analyze the thoughts that we hold. And if your thoughts are not lined up to the Word of God, get the Word of God and line it up, people. Because when you understand what you're thinking, when you understand what the Word of God says versus depression, when you understand what the Word of God says versus anxiety, what the Word of God says versus any type of sin in our life, the Word of God addresses everything. And see, I can talk from that. I know people are probably saying right now, how can she talk about anxiety? How can she talk about depression? She's a pastor. She probably don't even go through that stuff. But yet she's trying to tell me this. Baby, I'm going to let you know right now. I suffered with depression for a very long time. And you know that that head of the enemy tries to appear every now and then. You know, I suffered with anxiety where when I go out in public, which COVID messed up a lot of people, a lot of people. But what I want to remind you is the Word of God is strength. The Word of God is active. The Word of God, as our apostles said on Sunday, it does not come back void, people. It does not come back, excuse me, come back void. And let me refer to some scripture for you. We have to learn to be secure in God. Amen. Romans 8, 1 and 2, it refers to I am free from condemnation. Stop beating yourself over something you ask God to forgive you for. Repent, get up, move on, dust off, walk forward. Romans 8, 28, I am assured that all things work together for good. No matter what we go through in life, people, have you ever noticed no matter what you go through in being a believer in Christ, God always makes a way of escape. God always makes things possible. Repent, people, ask God for forgiveness. Get up, dust off, look in the mirror, see what you need to correct in your life. Amen. Romans 8, 35-39, it reminds me I cannot be separated from the love of God. I cannot be separated from the love of God. Because the love of God abides in me. The Holy Spirit is in my heart. Christ is within me. Amen. Colossians 3, 3, I am hidden with Christ in God. I'm hidden. That's like Psalm 51, 1 and 2 says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty. God promises us that if we abide in Him, He will cover us, people. He will protect us. Amen. Let's go on to 2 Corinthians 1, 21 and 22. This tells me, and this tells all of us, I have been established and anointed and sealed by God. We have to understand this, that we are sealed. We are sealed by God. You think what God did on the cross for us was in vain? That it had no power? That it had no significance in our lives? That it is just a story as people say? Oh, these are tales of the old times. You know, these are stories that were told back in the day. No, baby, God is alive today, yesterday, and forever. He is a never-changing God. Amen. Oh, praise God. I'm so excited. Philippians 1, 6. You know, God tells me, I am confident that the good work that God has begun in me will be perfected. Again, we're hidden in Christ, so why would not God perfect us in that hiding place? Because God is not going to expose you like that. God is not going to send a soldier out with no knowledge of war. He's not going to send you out with no armor to protect you. God is not going to send you out in ignorance. So we can just go out and make ourselves something that the enemy is going to use as an example to destroy us. God just won't do that, people. He loves us so much that he gave us a full instruction manual on what we need to do to be able to survive in this time. I heard a very powerful thing that I heard a man of God say. And he was like, you know, we think that being on this earth is all there is to it. That we're just going to go to church. We're just going to lift our hands. We're just going to praise God. We're just going to play church. We're going to go home. We're going to live our life. And then we die. And that's it. No, sweetheart. While we're here on this earth. How can I say it? This is a time of proofing. This is a time that God is building a remnant of people. Because, see, he needs to see what he can trust us with. Can he trust you with his word? That you're not going to twist it? That you're not going to use it for your gain? That you're not going to use it to bring harm to others? Because if you do that, you might as well just be a witch or warlock. Because you're using witchcraft. You're using the word of God. Just as Satan uses the word of God to twist it in people's lives. To get them to understand or try to understand that we're nothing. That everything is like a fable. That it has no power. Amen. Child of God. I want you to, this is something that spoke to me. And nothing is more fundamental to your freedom from Satan's bondage than understanding and affirming what God has done for you in Christ and who you are as a child of God. Your attitude, actions, response, and reactions of life, circumstances are greatly afflicted by what you believe about yourself. If you see yourself as the helpless victim of Satan and his schemes, you will probably live like a victim and be in bondage to his lies. But if you see yourself as a dearly loved and accepted child of God, you will have a better chance of living life. Crazy, huh? Let me end with this. I think that it is what John is saying in 1 John 3, 1 through 3. And it reads like this. See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God, and such we are. Beloved, now we are children of God. We are children of God. And everyone who has this hope fixed on him purifies him just as he is pure. Man, this word today not only ministered to me because I'm just preaching it, you know, or talking about it. We're just talking. It's not even preaching. We're just talking. This is something that should be passionate in our life. This is something that we should have a hope to transform, to heal, to grow, to be that that God says that we are capable of being. And being a person that has come from major trauma, has come from major addictions, has come from major depression and anxiety, and just the poverty mentality that I grew up to have, you know. This has set me in a place knowing that I am secure in Christ, that everything that God's word says that we are, we can become. Because it's already in us, people. It's already in us. And we have to understand that we are significant. You know, the word of God says that we are salt and light on the earth. The word of God says that he even tells us that we are a branch of the true vine, Jesus being the vine, a channel of his life. I guess what I'm trying to say is we have to gain an understanding of who we are in Christ. Everything the word of God says for our life is truth to our soul. And this truth is what guides us into all truth concerning ourselves. So back to the mirror. As we look in this mirror and what we see and what we don't like, guess what? We can speak to it. We can declare it. We can decree it. And we have to understand that when we do this and we speak the word over our life, anything is possible to those that believe. By faith, anything is possible through Jesus and through the cross of Calvary. Because what he did for us and what he did for our circumstance today, our situation today, he already knew we were going to go through it. He already knew that you're going to have to experience some things. He already knew what was going to happen in your life. Of course, he can't control the will of man concerning us, but he can turn it around for the good of us who love Christ. Amen. I hope you enjoyed the podcast this evening. Again, this is Inspiring Word Cafe. Basically, just talking on issues of the heart, issues of our life, issues of our walk. I hope that this has brought a little insight into your life today. Again, my name is Pastor Margie, and I attend Life.Church. My apostle and apostle elite is Calvin Hines and Audra Lashane Hines. I welcome you. I welcome you to come out to Life.Church on Rosier in Phoenix, Arizona. We would love to have you. If you're missing out, God is doing great things in our church. We're seeing people delivered. We're seeing people healed. I can speak from testimony. God has been working in my life. God has been cleaning me up in things that I thought I was good, where I thought I could hide, where I thought I can deceive myself in believing that I'm okay. We have to understand that there are some things not right about us. It's going to take us analyzing and seeing ourselves for who we truly are. If you have any questions, how do you treat people? How do you talk to people? Are you truly concerned of them, or is it just something that you have grown accustomed to saying or reacting to? We have to follow God, people. We have to follow his word. We have to speak it over our life, and we have to believe what we speak. Amen. So this evening, I hope that your day has been good, this Labor Day weekend. Praise God. I pray that everybody is safe, that no harm come into you tonight as you listen to this broadcast, whether you're driving, whether you're at home, whether you're relaxing. I just pray that the word of God was an inspiration to you. And believe in your heart that there is hope or a preferred future. We don't have to accept what we're in. We don't have to accept what is coming at us. We don't have to accept what is trying to afflict us. In Jesus' name, amen. So I pray that you have a wonderful evening. This is Margie Patino, Pastor Patino. I just want to thank you for listening to my podcast this evening, and feel free to leave a comment. I would love to hear from you. I would love to answer any questions you may have, or even if there's a part in my podcast that you want to know if it is in the word of God. I'm not afraid of that. Go ahead. Let's do this. We have to back up what we say and back it up with the word of God. Amen. Adding nothing to it. So thank you this evening. Thank you for tuning in. God bless you.
