Prayer

Oh hey it's me on a Sunday afternoon um yeah this is your after lunch mint um spiritually speaking pastor did an awesome sermon today you can catch it out I shared it on my Facebook page awesome prayer a couple things that come to mind about that and it's just stuck into my mind I was teaching children's church kids and you know Paul says pray without ceasing I'm thinking pray without ceasing you know in the English you could take that a couple of ways and the one is you know pray without ceasing is to always have a prayer life always Jesus woke up early in the morning to go pray for his day he worried about today he'll worry about tomorrow tomorrow yesterday's gone worry about today start the day off with it it's a good habit to get into but then another one is uh I'm not going to mention any one of my children but there was a time where service was over and I went up to the altar prayed and here comes one of my kids and comes up to me taps me on the shoulder dad and I'm still praying you know and and then it's a little bit harder dad and a little more you know and then dad um okay time out God I look at I look at the kid I said what kid says I'm hungry I said don't we always have lunch after church yeah I says no maybe I was asking God what should I do with you kids should I take you out to eat or just go home and PB&J you blew it now man we got to go home and have PB&J oh no no no no no no no no and I told him when I'm praying I'm praying I can still hear I don't go into a coma so teaching children's church pray without ceasing don't stop to get to the Amen there's a movie years ago Jean-Claude Van Damme called sudden death he played a security guard at a ice rink hockey rink and he's got his son and his daughter there picks him up for you know takes him to a game he's a security guard so he can get him tickets and he puts him in the stands and he says stay there he says I don't care if the building collapses around you stay there well prayer you know you start praying without ceasing don't stop till you get to the Amen don't let anything distract you if you have to get away you know Jesus talked about a prayer closet if you got to get away fine if people if you got a regular praying time or you're not hey I got it let me I'm gonna go pray on this people would leave you alone that's fine and don't stop to get to the Amen now so best examples I can come up with is right now at 144 p.m. Eastern Standard Time Sunday August 20th somebody is praying during a hurricane and they're not going to wait for this hurricane to die down to pray you know I better wait for the hurricane to go away to pray I can't hear anything and you know things are collapsing around me no right now somewhere on this planet there's a war zone and somebody's praying they're not gonna say ah let me wait for a break in the action from all the bullets and stuff no they're praying during that prayers can be simple Peter just said Lord help me he was up to his neck in water that was good enough for Jesus comes from the heart but uh just have a prayer life don't stop your prayer life pray without ceasing don't stop to get to the Amen if you have to tell people hey I'm gonna go pray I'll be right back they'll know not to bother you that's that's my little attachment today I got to go
