The speaker attends Mass regularly with their family and believes it is important for Catholics to do so. They feel hopeful and spiritually uplifted before receiving the Eucharist. They try to prepare themselves by clearing their mind and focusing on their relationship with God. Receiving the Eucharist can be a morale boost, especially during difficult times. The speaker had a particularly special experience when they received the Eucharist during a memorial Mass for their non-Catholic father. Hello, I'm here with my dad. So I have some questions about the Eucharist and your experience with it. Okay. Do you receive this sacrament regularly? I do. Each week my family and I attend Mass together at St. Mary in the Back of Conception. And why? Because the basic, most fundamental thing we can do as Catholics is attend Mass together each week. Okay, thank you. What are your feelings usually before receiving the sacrament? The Eucharist. I think it's sort of hopeful, just for the boost it's going to give me. Growing closer to God in a small way each week. I think, yes, a little bit of, this is good for my spirit, this is good for my soul. That's what I'm thinking as I'm getting in line to go for the Eucharist. Great. What do you do to prepare yourself to receive this sacrament? I try to clear my head and think about my relationship with God. With crying babies and all the demands of family and whatnot. Sometimes it's a little tricky in Mass to stay as focused as I would like, so sometimes it's a challenge for me. But I try to focus my relationship with God. Great. Can you think of a particularly good experience of this sacrament that you've had, especially because you received it a little later on in life? I think just sometimes when I might be down or having a tough day or something's really weighing on me, it can be a real boost to receive the Eucharist and grow closer to Jesus. I don't have anything that shows out right now, but I just know it's always just a bit of a morale boost. And sometimes in a big, big way. I guess what I can think of is the summer when my dad passed away and there was a Mass offered, a memorial Mass for him. He's not Catholic. But our parish was nice enough to offer a memorial Mass for him. So receiving the Eucharist that day was really special for me. Great. Well, thank you so much. My pleasure.
