We know that we come to the King, so Father God, large petition we bring. Father, we come to you and we ask that you will give us healing, Father. We pray for healing for Julia, Father God, who had a doctor's visit on yesterday. You know all things pertaining to her situation, Father. You know who she is. You know exactly what she's going through, Father. We just pray that you will give help to her body and strength to her mind, Father. We pray that you continue to give her wills before her situation and give the doctor's will, Father, to help her. We pray that you will give her strength, Father God, and that you will comfort her and that she will be encouraged in many ways by you, Father. Father God, we pray for Mike, that you will keep him strong and not be discouraged or dismayed or weighed down, Father, but that he will be a loving and supporting husband. We pray that you will strengthen him. We pray for Heidi and Ben, Father God, as well. We pray for all on our list who's been having health issues such as ourselves. We just pray for healing, Father God. We pray that you will delight in us and heal us. We know that your will is going to be done, Father. We just pray that we can live with you, Father. We just pray that you delight in us in our prayers and give us the petitions that we ask of you right now. We ask for healing. We ask for deliverance, Father God, from these sicknesses as well and things that wear us down, trials and tribulations. Father God, we want to remember heirs in our prayers as well who've been having a tough time, Father, since before he became a Christian, Father. We pray that you give them deliverance. We pray that you comfort him in every way and that you give him wisdom for his situation. We pray that you will place good people around him that seek to help him and lift him up. We pray that he will use the strength that he has in the body of Christ. We pray that his mind will be filled with the strength to be purified. We also pray for those who are traveling on our prayer list, Father, that you protect them and teach them to get back home safely. We thank you for our prayer. We thank you, Father, that we all come together each and every morning to study your word. Father, we pray that you get the glory and that the chief example be Christ Jesus. Father, we'd like to remember the Vassal family whose lives passed through. Father, we pray that you give them a proper burial and that you give them all they need to put them away. Father God, we pray that you comfort them and strengthen them. We pray that this will turn out to the spread of the gospel. I'll read as well. That's great. Okay. All right. So, y'all, we're going to continue to study on Hebrews, but we're going to move on. We're going to be in Hebrews chapter 10 today, starting at verse 1. And we're basically going to be like chapter 10, verses 1 through 18. We previously was talking about knowing what is the testament and knowing who Christ is and knowing that he's a king today and a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. So, with all that being established, we now want to step it up a little bit and kind of get to the climax of the message, you know, that has been being presented, you know, which is all about the priesthood of Christ, you know. So, we basically just went over, like, the priesthood of Christ and just showing that how he's a king right now today and he's God's spokesman for these last days and he's the testator who's giving us the new testament. So, now the point that I kind of want to get into with y'all is showing how that the primary reason one can have confidence to enter the holiness by the blood of Jesus is because Christ has fulfilled the law. So, we want to look at chapter 10, Hebrews, and it's basically going to be showing us how that the old testament system that God had them operating upon, which was the law and with all these rituals and sacrifices and all that, those things could not remove sin. God did not delight in those sacrifices because they could not remove sin. But they was required, according to the law of Moses, only to Christ to come and fulfill all that. Christ was the fulfillment of all that. He moved it out of our way so that we can serve in a new, living, and better way, under a better covenant that involves the removal of sin. All right? Christ has been in one offering for all time. So, we just want to basically look at how those things up under that old law was only a shadow of good things to come, which was this new testament, the new covenant that Christ gave. So, who is our first reader? Ms. Patricia, if you don't mind, would you read Hebrews chapter 10, verses 1 through 18? Okay. For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have feasts to be offered. For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices, there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. Therefore, when he came into the world, he said, sacrificed an offering you did not desire, but a body you have prepared for me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin, you had no pleasure. Then I said, behold, I have come. In the volume of the book, it is written of me to do your will, O God. Previously saying, sacrificed an offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin, you did not desire nor had pleasure in them, which are offered according to the law. Then he said, behold, I have come to do your will, O God. He takes away the first that he may establish the second. By that will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. You said through 18, right? And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God. From that time, waiting till his enemies are made his footstool. For by one offering, he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us. For after he had said before, this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them. Then he adds, their sins and their lawless deeds, I will remember no more. Nowhere there is remission of these. There is no longer an offering for sin. Now where there is a remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. All right. Thank you. So basically we've just seen that in the scripture reading how Christ is the perfect sacrifice. Christ is the mediator of the New Testament. All right. Stating that the Old Testament was referring to the law of Moses. It had a shadow of good things to come, what it told us in verse 1. And it was not the very image of those things. Okay. And it stated that can never with those sacrifices, which they offer year by year, continue to come if they are too precious. But then would they not have ceased to be offered because that the worshipers once purged should have had no more conscience of sin. But in those sacrifices, they will remember again later sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. All right. So verse 5 stated, therefore, when he cometh into the world, something by Christ, he said, sacrifice an offering thou wouldest not. Which means God did not desire that for the removal of sin. But a body hath thou prepared me. So Christ had to come on this earth and take on human nature in order to be the sacrifice, the perfect sacrifice. The sacrifice that all those things that they was doing up under that Old Testament law of sin and offering, that was just a copy, a shadow of the real thing. So all those animal sacrifices was just a shadow of the ultimate sacrifice that was going to be made on that cross. When Christ came to God and he satisfied God's just demand for the punishment of sin to secure our redemption. Okay. The whole point of this whole discussion is that when Christ came and was obedient unto death, the New Testament came, of course, but also what we need to realize is that he fulfilled the Old Testament law. So Christ did not, you know, literally replace the law. In fact, he is the fulfillment of the law. Christ is the fulfillment of the law. So let's look at Matthew chapter 5, 17 and 18, Tim. Matthew 5, 17 and 18. Okay. The thing not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophet, I am come to destroy, I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. Fulfill I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one little, one tittle shall in no way rise past from the law, till all be fulfilled. Rise past from the law, till all be fulfilled. So Christ stated he didn't come to destroy the law but he came to fulfill it. Okay. And he stated that one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled. Christ is the fulfillment of those things, of that Old Testament law. All right. All right. So basically the law was on the shadow of the real image. Okay. So the law of Moses reflected good things to come. It's what we've seen in chapter 10 verse 1 of Hebrew. All right. So basically what I'm saying is the law with its ceremonies has early been described as patterns. All right. If we look at Hebrew chapter 9 verse 23, who we got? Ms. Ty, Hebrew chapter 9 verse 23. It says this was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites. But the heavenly things themselves were better sacrificed than these. All right. So we see that they were described as patterns and as a figure of the truth. Read also 9-9, Ms. Ty, verse 9 and verse 24. When you get through, read verse 9 and then read verse 24. Okay. Which is a symbol of the present time. Accordingly, both gifts and sacrifice are offered, which cannot make the worship perfect and conscious. Read verse 24. Verse 24. Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us. All right. So the translation, the contrary is right there between the earthly tabernacle that they had set up in the wilderness during the days of Moses versus the heavenly tabernacle that was built by God. And it's stated that Christ ain't entering into this earthly tabernacle, but he entered into the heavenly one that was made by God. The earthly tabernacle and all that they did up under the law of Moses and the way that God governed their priesthood by that law was just a shadow and a copy of the true thing. All right. So a shadow is just basically used to symbolize that it was only, as you know, an outline of the image itself. Okay. So the good thing to come with the future blessings of salvation, I'm trying through the gospel of Christ. We have the best end of the stick. We have the blessings. We have everything that the prophets looked into. Angels desire to look into how and when that these things were going to be fulfilled instead of trust but that Christ was going to come give us. We are bound up under this testament now. Up under this testament there's total removal of sin. You know, you have a new family, which is the family of God. You have a new home, a heavenly home. You have complete forgiveness of sin. They didn't have it up under that old testament. All those things were just a copy, which was a shadow of the good things to come. So let's look at, I'm going to read 9-11. 9-11 states, for Christ being coming, I preach the good things to come by a greater, more perfect testament, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building. All right? And then I'm going to flip over and read Ephesians 1-3. Ephesians 1-3 states, So we see that we are now a part of these good things that were to come, which was a new and living way. Christ gave us a better testament. So basically animal sacrifice could not take away sin, you know? So the blood of animals wasn't active, but free one from the stains of guilt, you know? So if he had given complete forgiveness, then there would have been no need of repeating these sacrifices, you know? So the fact they were repeated angrily is proof the conscience is not clean. And that's what we just read in Hebrews chapter 10, verse 2, it states, So those sacrifices just could not remove sin. They could not satisfy God with those sacrifices, even though they was required according to the law. Okay? But they was just pointing the head to the ultimate sacrifice, the true sacrifice, which is Christ Jesus, in this new and better way. So our next reader will be Ms. Delfer. Would you read Hebrews chapter 7, verses 18 through 19? But on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God. So basically what it just said is, So the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope be it by the which we draw near unto God. So the way that we draw near unto God is not according to that old sacrificial system of the old testament, but we draw near by this better hope, alright? This new covenant, by obeying this new testament. This is how we draw near to God. And it is something better. Ms. Delfer also reads chapter 8, verse 7. Okay. Great. So he says, that did not make him that did the service perfect as pertaining to the conscience, which we already read. So basically animal sacrifice was nothing but substitute to the true sacrifice, which would take away sins were made by Christ. Okay. So since the law with this animal sacrifice was unable to take away sins, it was nailed to the cross. So let's look at Colossians chapter 2, verses 14 through 17. Oh, that's me. Colossians chapter 2, verses 14 through 17. So basically we're just doing a lot of cross rifts in this morning, to bag up a lot of facts that's stated in Hebrews chapter 10. We're just showing that the old testament law has been fulfilled by Christ, and he's taking it out of our way and giving us this new testament. So Hebrews chapter 2, verses 14 through 17, I'll speak about that old testament law being nailed to the cross. It states blotting out the handwriting of order that was against us, which was contrary to him and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross. Let no man therefore judge you on food or in drink or in respect of the Holy Day or of the new moon or of the seven days, which are a shadow of the things to come, but the bodies of Christ. So in that context, referring to the old testament stated that let no man judge you according to that law, according to the old testament, according to keeping feast days and holy days, you know, they did all that up under the old testament, up under the law. But Christ has come and gave us a new and living in a better way, which is this new, this new testament. And we want to look at Ephesians chapter 2, verses 13 through 16. It's Patricia. Okay. But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ for he himself is our peace. He has made both one and has broken down the middle wall of petition. Having abolished in his flesh, the enmity, that he is the law of commandments contained in ordinances. So as to create in himself one new man from the two does making peace. He said through what? Okay. And that he might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. Okay. You have one minute remaining. Yeah. We're going, we're going to get back on it. We're going to have a closing prayer and we're going to pick up on the rest of this message tomorrow because it is a nice little piece of reading. And I don't like to hold people too long, you know, just trying to cram everything in there at one time. So basically we just see how the price was the ultimate sacrifice. No, it's to be made. And it all comes with a lot. Why not? But a shadow of the good things. People feel the old Testament law. So therefore it's out of the way. So when I get back on, we'll have a closing prayer. Tomorrow we're going to be getting deep down from verse five on through a little bit. We're going to be talking about how that, uh, Christ took away the first that he might've established the second.
