The speaker is live on a radio show at Wellspring University with a group of 200 level mass communication students. They discuss an upcoming student week event with various activities such as community service, old school day, sports festival, cultural day, and award night. The students express excitement and anticipation for the event, particularly for the award night and after-party. They also share enjoyable moments from previous student week editions. And we are live! Good afternoon everybody. My name is Iyama Loki. Time check 1227 p.m. live in studios of Wellspring University and I have with me here 200 level students of mass communication. I can see them giving me smiles. They are so eager to discuss and gist with me. Quickly I'll have them introduce themselves. From my far left let's start with you. Okay. I'm Zenith Hart. I'm Gwobadia Destiny. I'm Jessica George. I'm Nwobiru Aminifishwe. And my name is Favo Obasoha. She's smiling at me. Anyways, we'll be talking about student week. Student week, student week. Having that for next week June 2nd precisely till on the 5th or 6th I presume. It's a one-week event. So we'll be discussing and let's hear the views and opinion of 200 level students for the student week. I'll just give a quick rundown of the activities that will be going on for that student week. There's so many things lined up for your pleasure. A quick rundown of the activities. On Monday 4.30 to 8 p.m. we'll be having the community service. Every girl, child, every child a meal and also the freshers party. Glue in the dark. Okay. On Tuesday we'll be having the old-school day, Nollywood themed dressing and the old-school movie night. That would be taking place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. And on Wednesday we'll be having the sports and games festival. That's the entire sport and also the rave party. Somebody here said something about party. We'll get to that person in a while. That would also take us from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. And on Thursday we'll be having the Feast of Wellspring, the pageantry and speaking of Mr. and Mrs. Wellspring. I know so many of you are anticipating that particular event. Also on Friday we'll be having the cultural day, Uwambe themed party and also the TGIF party. Party, party, party. Less party. Party after party. Okay. On Saturday is the Get Fit Morning exercise and also a concert with a guest artist. Do you guys have any idea of the guest artist? I think I like that. Nobody knows who the guest artist is. That would take place from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. And on Sunday is the Thanksgiving dinner and award night. Taking place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Okay. I'll need to hear your opinion of the student week. I'll be starting with Miss Favo for the student week. Now from your own point of view, what is the student week about? I feel it's just like all for fun because we have to do this fun thing, learn about food and so forth. So I think the student week is all about fun, entertainment and all that. So I'm actually looking forward to having a great time. Okay, okay. Miss Precious, your opinion about the student week? I think the student week is about me, the student, enjoying ourselves. There's an adage that says, it's all book meets jacket. So we really need to go into this student week and party a bit. Okay, Miss Pedro. The student week is something I've always looked forward to because it's a week set aside for us to showcase our culture, our talent, competitions and everything. Just a week for just relaxing and having fun. So I'm looking forward to this one as well. Okay, Miss Vanessa. Okay, the student week is a period set aside for the students to showcase their talent. I give opportunities to the students to showcase their talent and just to have fun. And I'm also looking towards the award giving. The award night. The award night. Okay, that's taking place on Sunday. Yes, because I'm really eager to know the news for spring. And I'm pretty sure it's coming from mass communication. Okay, okay, okay. We'll keep that locked down. Miss Blossom, what do you think? Personally, I actually like the student week. Why? Because that full weekend, there will be no classes. We've had classes for months now. Okay, okay. And some of the activities. I don't really participate though because I'm an introvert. But I look forward to the cultural day because I like showcasing my culture. Okay, okay, that's good. Okay, let's have another thing. Well, I think the student week is just for us to have fun and do everything. You know, we actually go out during the student week for things. So I think they actually brought it for us to make our things. To make things easy for us inside the school. Just for once, just once a year this semester. So I think it's for us to... To just relax. Just like that rave party. Okay, you actually got to partake in the rave party. Yes. Okay. Miss Precious? Alright. What's the student week about? Okay, on our perspective, I feel the student week is all about having fun. Okay. Enjoying ourselves. Leaving school activities aside and just... Relaxing and having fun. So I'm actually looking forward to cultural day. Okay, okay. So I can showcase my style and all of that. Okay, Miss Kobadia? Student week for me is just a week for students to unwind. Basically just let go of those book book stuff and just have fun for one week before the exams. And also I'm mostly looking forward for our night because me and my friends are nominated for squad girl, female squad girl. Oh, okay, okay, okay. No wonder you're so eager and excited. Okay, Miss Lenny? So the student week, I feel it's a week dedicated for students. Okay. For us to just connect with other students to have fun and also explore new things. Okay. I'm looking forward to our night because I was nominated for like two categories. Two categories. Two or more, I think. Two or more. Oh, wow. That's a good one. Yes. Okay, Miss Mary? Yeah, the student week is, it's when we have fun. We as students just take a time like having a break for like reading our books and other stuff. So for me, I'm looking forward to the rave party because I love parties. Oh, okay. And to add to that, it's also a free week for us to dress up. Oh, right. Because we always got corporates. Always got corporates. Just that we don't have like, dress like the old school, rap on your face and everything. Okay. Okay, okay, okay. That's a good one. Okay, let's move forward. What are the events you're looking forward to? I'll start with Miss Blossom. What are the events you're looking forward to? Like I said earlier. Okay. When you asked what student week is about, I'm looking forward to the cultural thing because they are doing a fake wedding here. I want to look at how it's going to be after. And also, like I said earlier, I like showcasing my culture. So I'm looking forward to the culture, I think. Okay. Miss Zenith, what events are you looking forward to? The award night. Oh, the award night. I just like hearing my name being called. Oh, Miss Zenith. As a nominee or a winner. Yes. Okay. How about Miss Gopalia? I'm looking forward to the award night but also looking forward to the entire sports because according to the itinerary for the entire sports, I saw cheerleading. Oh, okay. So there's going to be pom-poms. Pom-poms. Yeah, I wanted that. Shouting and screaming. Screaming at some of the women. Okay. Women are your colleagues. Okay. Miss Precious, what events are you looking forward to? Okay. Actually, I'm looking forward to the dinner night. But I can't wait for Mass Communication. So I'm waiting for this one. Okay. Okay. I think you're really, really up for this. Mass Comm Department. So many of you are just very confident Mass Comm Department will take care of this one. Yes. Yes. Okay. Let's hear from you. I'm also looking forward to the dinner night. Oh, the dinner night. Yes. What particular thing are you looking forward to? Just dinner night or something particular within the dinner night? The award night. Okay, the award night. Yes. Okay. Let's hear from you, Miss Precious. Yes. What events are you looking forward to? The events I'm looking forward to for this month will also be the dinner night. The dinner night. Yes. Okay. Because I want to know the guest artists that will come in this time around because I look forward to the anonymous guest artists. Okay. Yes. Okay. Okay. All right. Let's hear from you. Who else hasn't said anything? Vanessa. What events are you looking forward to? The award night. The award night. Oh, the award night. Yes. Everybody is so particular about the award night. Yes. We get to dress up and look sexy and all. Okay. Okay. You know what? Oh, Miss Precious has the contrary opinion. I'm actually looking forward to the after party. Oh, the after party. Yes, it will be mind-blowing. I just want everyone to know my talent. Okay. Because I love dancing and I love hearing music. From the activities lined up, on Wednesday there's a rave party and on Friday you have the TGI party. Which one in particular are you looking forward to? The rave party. Oh, the rave party. Yes. Oh. I think there's something different from the TGIF and the rave party. Yes. There's a huge difference. Oh. Okay. There's a huge difference. Oh. It's not rave making. Now I know why everybody is so particular about the after party. Anyways, okay. What enjoyable moment have you experienced from the previous editions of the student week? I know some of you must have attended or almost everybody here has attended one activity or the other from the previous edition. I just want your opinion on a particular or an enjoyable moment that you've experienced from the previous edition. Miss Vanessa, what enjoyable moment or you actually did not enjoy yourself from the previous edition? I did. I enjoyed myself because I was the queen of the meme. Oh. You were nominated or you won the category for... No. Cultural day. Oh. Cultural day. Yes. Okay. So you were the queen of the meme. Yes. Okay. No wonder you had a very enjoyable moment. Me dressed like a queen. I was just filming myself that day. Okay. That's nice. Did you post something like that this year or you opted out? I would love to watch it this year. Okay. Oh. Instead of partaking in the event itself. Yes. To see how other people... Yes. And the moment I enjoyed was when we were marching to the feed with the music and the band. Okay. It was so, so fun. Okay. Okay. Okay. And with you, what enjoyable moment have you experienced from the previous edition? So basically, I didn't really participate in the last gender week apart from gender swap. Yes. Gender swap was the one I really enjoyed the last. You know, seeing the female gender dressing like the male gender. Like the male. Yes. Okay. And talking about gender swap, I didn't see it in the activity. And, you know, gender levels... Oh, it's now old school. Yes. Yes. They said something of the school management. They didn't like the girl boys dressing like girls. Okay. And then girls dressing like boys. No. No. They did not issue girls dressing like boys. It's more boys dressing like girls. Boys dressing like girls. Yes. Yes. Some guys dressed up as girls. Yes. And the videos went viral. Viral. Who were like, oh, I'm not cheap. I'm very expensive. Oh. It was fun, but it was just as sad that school did not like it. Okay. Okay. So it's more like it has been revamped into the old school. Old school, yes. Okay. Okay. Okay. Ms. Precious, what enjoyable moment from the previous edition? Actually, I didn't really participate in the last one. Okay. But I went for the dinner night. Okay. The dinner night. Yeah. I loved the way everything was organized. I loved the outfits that came. Then for the gender swap day, I dressed like a guy and I really enjoyed it. Oh, you enjoyed being a guy. Yes. Yeah. Okay. Indeed. But you know you have to spend a lot. Yes. Yes. Okay. Anyways, Ms. Blossom. Okay. What enjoyable moment from the previous edition? I didn't really participate though. But like, the one I participated in, I participated in the cultural day and I was the queen for the Igbo tribe. Oh, the queen for the Igbo tribe. Yes. Oh, we have two queens. Yes. Really? We have the queen for the Igbo tribe and the queen for Benin. Yes. That's nice. Okay. Oh, so that's the most enjoyable part. And also, like, during the gender swap, I didn't participate though. But like, I was seeing girls dressed like boys and most recently, I want to call out Zenith because he looks so handsome. So like, even if... Even if... Thank God I like guys though because my video actually went viral and they rated me 10 out of 10. Oh, really? Because they were so handsome as guys. Wow. Wow. Wow. But none of them were straight. Okay. Let's hear from Ms. Dutton. What enjoyable moment from the previous edition? Okay. Actually, during the gender swap day, I participated and it was nice. And I was happy that day. Oh, okay. Oh, you swapped as a guy? Yes. Okay. But I was not fine though. Okay. How did you feel being a guy? It was nice. Okay. I borrowed someone's kubang on my neck. Okay. And I borrowed the chain from one guy. I don't... One guy? One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy. One guy.
