Mentorship is important for personal and professional development. Finding the right mentor can greatly impact your growth and success. It is essential to invest in a coach or mentor who can provide guidance and support. A mentor offers knowledge and expertise, personalized guidance, an expanded network, support and motivation, help in avoiding mistakes, and assistance in personal growth. The relationship with a mentor is long-term and can lead to mutual growth. It is important to seek help and not have regrets later in life. Mentorship plays a crucial role in personal and professional development, offering guidance, support, and valuable insights to help you level up in the different areas of life. Finding the right mentor is essential because their experience, knowledge, and guidance can significantly impact your growth and success. Today I'm gonna be sharing some key points highlighting the importance of mentorship and finding the right mentor and coach. Now, I wish somebody would have told me this when I was in my teens or even 20s, even early 30s, the importance of having a mentor or coach and the importance of investing in a coach or mentor. Now, I may not have been ready for it in the season of life that I was in, but I wish somebody would have continuously been in my ear and continuously popped up in my newsfeed, popped up everywhere in front of me because I would have eventually said, okay, cool, I need some help. Let me let my guard down. Let me be less defensive. Let me be aware of my ego and ask for help. And that's what a mentor or coach is. And a lot of times it's frowned upon and it's looked down on that we don't need help as human beings. And that's exactly what I did. I was like, I don't need help. I know it all. I can listen to this podcast. I can listen to this speaker. I can do this worksheet. I can figure it out on my own. But at the end of the day, why try to figure it out on your own? Why make all the mistakes and the failures by yourself when you can hire somebody to cut the learning curve in half to speed up that process to greatness and to get you to where you wanna be? No, you know, it just is the smarter way to go about it, right? Work smarter and work harder. So today I'm gonna be sharing with you the key points in highlighting the importance of mentorship that I wish I would have known in my teens and 20s. So if you liked this podcast, you liked this episode, please do me a favor and share it with your friends and family. And please don't forget to subscribe. Leave us some feedback and share it on the different platforms because it helps spread the word to get this out there to people that need to hear this and for it to impact and serve others. Okay, so key point number one is knowledge and expertise. Typically a mentor or a coach, somebody that you hire, whether it's for business, health and wellness, a spirituality coach, a fun and recreation, whatever area of life that it's for, say you wanna level up your marriage. So you hire a marriage counselor. These are different coaches and mentors in your life. And they're typically someone who is either licensed, who either has experience, has either been through the trials and the errors and the mistakes, and they're able to share those trials and errors and mistakes and failures and their experiences with you to help speed up the process to the place that you want to get, right? And typically it's the person who you need to become. It's making you aware. It's slowing you down, asking you questions, giving you worksheets, giving you exercises and homeworks so that you slow down, get outside of your element, your comfort zone, and start basically putting in the work. So that coach, that mentor is going to be able to guide you and share that knowledge and expertise based on what they've already been through. That's key point number one. Number two, personalized guidance. So typically the coach or the mentor is going to be able to personalize the coaching or mentoring experience for you based on your strengths, your weaknesses, and a lot of people that have come in contact with struggle with accountability. They struggle with discipline. And at the end of the day, what you don't know is what you don't know. And that coach and that mentor is going to be able to offer a broader perspective to help navigate the challenges, the adversities, the obstacles that you're facing at this very moment, right? What obstacles are you facing right now? What challenges are you facing right now? Are you feeling stuck? Are you feeling lost? Are you feeling unfulfilled? You're not alone. That was me. I thought that I could figure it out on my own. I was feeling unfulfilled. I was feeling lost. I was feeling stuck. I was feeling like I was on the continuous rat race. The wheel, you know the little hamster wheel that keeps going around and around and around? I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. So by hiring a coach or a mentor and seeking that out, they were able to guide me. They were able to personalize the guidance, provide feedback, and identify areas of improvement for my life and where I was stuck. For me, I wasn't aware of the ego. I was a pride, I couldn't swallow my pride. And I was allowing my ego to drive me. And it was just very toxic. So he was able to point me and guide me and give me homework and exercises when as if I would have never have hired him, he would have never been able to personalize or guide me and get me out of that rut, get me unstuck. So the one-on-one attention really helped me gain clarity and develop specific actions to overcome those obstacles and reach my outcome more efficiently. Now it took a couple months, but I ended up better than I started. It was definitely worth the investment and I would have paid 10x. The third key point, expanded network. So a mentor is typically, or a coach is going to offer extensive network of contacts or connections. For instance, when you reach out to a mentor or a coachee and you start getting the guidance, typically they have already established their own network. So they're gonna be able to connect you. If they don't have all the answers, they're gonna be able to connect you with the right resources or the right references. Maybe it's a book or a podcast or another mentor, right? And it's those relationships and those connections that allows you to basically have that access to valuable resources. So building on top of that coach and mentor, connecting you with other individuals brings a strong professional or professional network to open up the doors and create new possibilities for you and your personal growth, personally and professionally. Third key point, support and motivation. There's nothing more powerful when you have a mentor or coach that supports you, that encourages you, and that when you have somebody that you talk to that you normally wouldn't talk to somebody about that you're struggling with, like the challenges and the adversities and the issues, your deepest, darkest thoughts, you're able to share that with the coach or mentor because typically they're going to come from a place of resonation where they resonate with you and they've been through those thoughts, those feelings, and those emotions. So they're gonna be able to emotionally support you throughout the journey. And also the encouragement, the accountability helps during challenging times. And on top of that, it helps boost your confidence and it helps you stay focused on what matters most, which is your personal goals and what you want to, it's what you want to obtain in becoming the best version of yourself in these different areas of life. Coaches and mentors are also in your corner and they see from a third party standpoint, from a macro standpoint, your potential. And coaches and mentors are willing to invest the time, energy, and effort to develop and get you to where you want to be. Fourth is avoiding mistakes. I'm sorry, this is number five. Avoiding mistakes. Mentors and coaches typically have experienced their fair share of setbacks, challenges, failures, you name it, right? They've typically been what you've been through in the different areas of life. Now, some mentors, depending on who you hire, they will be able to guide you and make you aware of common pitfalls, mistakes, and what to look out for so you don't make those same mistakes. Because sometimes, typically when you go through in who you're becoming in these different areas of life to level up, it can be frustrating, it can be challenging, you could want to throw in the towel and give up. But by avoiding mistakes and avoiding the same hiccups that you would make without hiring a mentor or coach, it'll allow you to keep the momentum and the confidence by keep the ball rolling and keep that momentum going so you could look more towards the successful outcomes and be aware of the potential risk and what you're gonna be facing. Okay, number six, I believe. Personal growth, mentorship, and coaching extends beyond professional growth. It also extends to personal development. So in other words, mentors and coaches will also make you aware and be mindful of guiding you on a work-life balance, stress management, and personal well-being. So you can be, where focus goes, energy flows. So where you can be all in on business. Okay, cool, but what other areas of life are you neglecting, right? Whether that's family and friends, fun and recreation, health and wellness. And so what areas are you neglecting? And so in that personal growth and being mindful and aware of what's going on around you, you can pay attention to those different areas of life when that time happens. A coach and mentor is going to be able to set up boundaries and with stress management, and that's gonna be able to provide valuable tools and resources to help with those different areas of life. Number seven, I believe, last but not least, long-term relationship. A mentorship, a mentor, or a coach, it's typically, it's not a one and done, right? A mentor or a coach, depending on what you hire that individual for, is going to be, you typically want somebody that's gonna be long-term. Somebody you can email, call, text, that's going to support you on a weekly basis, monthly basis, whatever that term may be. It's a long-term play, it's a long-term investment that basically extends beyond achieving the immediate goals and what you want to become. So mentors can also be trusted advisors. They can also be ongoing support because it's not if but when you get stuck again, you can reach out to that individual. And typically, as long as that right coach or mentor is continuing to level up in their areas of life, there will be continued learning, collaboration, and mutual growth for both parties. So these are the seven or eight key points that I cannot stress enough when looking to invest in a coach or a mentor to help cut the learning curve in half, and it can be a powerful tool for personal and professional growth if you're feeling stuck, lost, unfulfilled, unhappy, don't know the next direction that you want to go, in which if you're a human being, you're an imperfect action shaker just like me, and we've all been there one way or another. And so what I would encourage you, friend, is not to get to the end of your life and live in these regrets going, I wish I would have done this, I wish I would have done this. Instead, take action now. Get out of your comfort zone, get out of your element, reach out for help, reach out for mentoring and coach. There is several resources you can find online, and just making sure that you find the right coach or mentor that you resonate with that you feel that can help you get you to where you want to be. So outside of that, thank you so much for tuning in today. I hope you saw big value in this. We appreciate your time, energy, and effort, and again, we can't stress enough, if you've gotten any kind of value, please subscribe, please leave us some feedback, and share this with your friends and family.
