Toyota Prius is sponsoring a podcast episode discussing carbon emissions and air pollution. Aramco is the biggest corporate greenhouse gas emitter, refusing to reduce gas production. North America produces 6.34 billion metric tons of carbon per year. Asia is the biggest contributor with 17.96 billion tons annually. Tesla is the sponsor of another podcast episode, highlighting their electric vehicles. Carbon emissions from transportation, industry, agriculture, and deforestation contribute to global warming. The greenhouse effect traps sunlight, causing the world to heat up. Individuals can help fight global warming by using hybrid or electric cars, reducing carbon emissions, and adopting sustainable eating habits. A big thanks to our sponsor Toyota Prius for making this episode possible. The Toyota Prius is a compact small family liftback produced by Toyota. This Prius is a hybrid drivetrain vehicle combined with an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. The vehicle offers fuel efficiency, reliability, and is priced at an affordable $15,000-$30,000. Use code DINGDONG at a discount code for 1% $300 off on your next purchase of a Toyota Prius at your local dealership. This is the Edge of Town and welcome back. This is where we discuss all kinds of topics. Today, our hosts Grayson, Oliver, Carter, and Sean will be discussing the problems surrounding carbon emissions and air pollution. But another big thanks to the Toyota Prius for sponsoring our podcast today. First of all, Sean, for the introduction, starting off with air pollution. Air pollution has been one of the biggest problems for us humans ever since the industrial revolution. Being the start of the biggest amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere in the history of our existence. And one of our biggest contributors to this problem is Aramco. The oil it produces is emitting around 79 million tons of CO2 and other equivalents every year. Aramco is the biggest corporate greenhouse gas emitter in the world, which has been estimated to be linked to over 4% of the entire world's greenhouse gas emissions since 1965. And when they were asked by the UN to reduce its production of gas and other products, they had refused and continued to explore for more natural oil and gas. And the Saudi Arabian government, which owns over 98% of the company, has been fighting efforts to reduce climate change for a long time. But moving on for now, our new topic is the problems with the world's carbon output, and specifically North America. We will be focusing on the carbon output and other greenhouse gas emissions from North America and where it comes from. Let us start with the stats in North America and then move on to the stats from the entire world. First for our statistics is the greenhouse gas emissions from North America, where the whole of North America comes to produce around 6.34 billion metric tons of carbon and equivalents per year. The OCEAN, with 142 million metric tons of greenhouse gases coming from their carbon output. But next up is Europe, which comes to produce 821 metric tons of carbon and equivalents yearly. And South America, with around 1.62 million metric tons of greenhouse gases coming from their carbon input, which is totally crazy. And for the second biggest amount of annual greenhouse gases emissions goes to Africa, with around 1.45 billion metric tons. And of course, in first place, with around 17.96 billion tons of greenhouse gases annually being the biggest contributor to greenhouse gases in Asia. But for now, we will do a quick break to talk about our sponsor, the Tesla. Today, we will talk about the greatest electric vehicle in the world, the Tesla. The Tesla has four models, each for compatibility with different people's schedules and lifestyles. The first being the Model S, which is a sedan that can fit up to five people and has a max range of 637 kilometers and can go from 0 to 100 kilometers in 2.1 seconds. And with a max speed of 322 kilometers per hour and 1,020 horsepower, this is no doubt a smart choice for you and your family on your daily commutes. Or the Model Y, which is an excellent choice for either pairs or families. 2,100 plus liters of cargo and a range of 497 kilometers, this is no doubt the best choice for families with great compatibilities. It is the best choice for your family because it is made to be the safest Tesla out of all of them. You and your family can drive in peace. And today, with a discount code, hashtag Daddy Elon, you can get 5% off any sedan of your choice. Now, for our final topic for today, we come to you with the problems surrounding the green house effect from carbon and other emissions and global warming coming from the said emissions. And of course, we want to talk about how carbon emissions create the heat and increase overall temperature over the world, causing global warming. First, the carbon emission from transportation like vehicles and planes, industrial use like generating power and production of things people use every day, agriculture from vehicles and machines, and deforestation for agriculture and land use. All of these things help contribute to the overgrowing amount of greenhouse gases trapped in our atmosphere. Now we want to talk about the greenhouse effects or cycle. It starts with people raising carbon emissions from one or more of their contributing factors listed below. Then they rise up into the atmosphere, with some emissions getting trapped in the atmosphere. And when our planet's sun has its rays of light radiation shining down on it, it passes through the atmosphere, bouncing off ground and heating the world. Some of the reflected sunlight escapes through the atmosphere and is never seen once again. But because of the greenhouse gases, they recreate an artificial greenhouse and keep the sunlight in the atmosphere, where it bounces off the ground and the atmosphere over and over, heating up the world by an infamous 1 to 1.5 degrees Celsius. We have been contributing to this greenhouse effect for hundreds of years since the Industrial Revolution. Well, now we're coming to an end. We would like to thank you for tuning in and thank you for coming back to the Edge Channel. We would now like to talk to you about our Call to Action, where we tell you about what you can do to help fight against global warming and climate change. You can first try to use our two sponsors and either move over to a hybrid car like the Prius or use a fully electric car like the Tesla. You can also try to cut down on things that either create carbon emissions or contribute to making them. And you can also try to grow and eat your own vegetables or eat less meat. These are just some of the things that you can do to help our Earth fight back against global warming.
