Yesterday morning, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor with bombings and air attacks, causing significant casualties and damage to American ships. President Roosevelt declared war on Japan, and the Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of the declaration. The U.S. is now at war and needs help from its citizens. Japan also bombed other bases. The world wonders how this will affect the war. Uncle Sam calls for people to join the military and fight against Japan. Stay safe and may God help us all. As we start the morning off, we must first acknowledge the tragic events that took place on our own soil yesterday morning. At approximately 8 a.m. yesterday, Japanese forces raided Pearl Harbor with bombings and air attacks. In less than two hours after this tragic attack, we suffered more than 2,400 casualties among civilians and troops. We lost more than 300 airplanes and nearly 20 American ships were crippled. All battleships on bases were hit and suffered grave damage, one of which being the USS Arizona, which took a hit from a bomb directly on the ship, causing it to sink, bringing over 1,000 troops trapped inside with it. This sinking was the cause of half of the casualties yesterday. Another ship that was sunk was the USS Oklahoma, which fell to a torpedo bomber flying at just 50 feet above the water, with 400 troops trapped inside. In the process of the attack, Japanese planes were taken down with 129 confirmed kills. On to breaking news. This just in. This morning, this statement, declaring war on Japan, was released by President Roosevelt. Yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which shall live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the naval and air forces of Japan. No matter how long it may take us, the American people, in their righteous might, will win through absolute victory. Some powerful words from President Roosevelt. The Senate voted to declare war by a tally of 388 to 1. This goes against the previous idea of isolationism the U.S. and our people have to demonstrate. The people of our country seem to have changed their mind on the idea of going to war in the wake of these attacks. Shortly after, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. They also bombed the bases in Wake Island, Guam, and the Philippines. After these events, the entire world wants to know, how will this affect the war? The United States has declared war on Japan. There was never a time to join the military. It is now. This country and its people need help. Help stop Japan. Save the world. It represents the greatest country on this planet. I want you, yes I mean you, for the U.S. Army. May you all consider those inspiring words from Uncle Sam and enlist against the evil of Japan. May every listener be safe and may God help us all. Thank you all for listening to your nation's voice. See you next time.
