Celebrities using private jets are contributing to the release of CO2 into the atmosphere, leading to a rise in global temperatures. Taylor Swift is mentioned as one of the celebrities who frequently use their private jet, with 170 flights in the first eight months of 2022. One solution to reduce this impact is to impose taxes on wealthy people and celebrities who excessively use their private jets. This would discourage their use and decrease CO2 emissions. Advances in AI technology have made it easier for scientists to observe air pollution. Yo, what's up guys? It's Evan and Cam and today we're going to talk about how planes affect the environment. So, how have you been? Oh, you know, not so good. I just read this article that there's so much CO2 being put into the atmosphere because the celebrities are using their private jets. Yeah, I can understand why you might be feeling a little down. Yeah, because of how often celebrities use their private jets, the amount of CO2 being released into the atmosphere has caused the global temperature to rise to an all-time high. That's crazy, Evan. Like, what kind of celebrities can you think of? Funny you ask. There's Drake, Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian. So, if you had to guess, who do you think would be leading in the carbon dioxide emissions into the environment? Well, if I had to guess, it'd probably be Taylor Swift because I feel like she's known for abusing the luxuries of a private jet. Yeah, that's actually spot-on, Cam. Yeah, actually, I'm pulling up this super interesting article. It's on Travel Nouveau written by Estefani Castillo. Yeah, so in the article it states that Taylor Swift used her plane 170 times from January to August in 2022. Yeah, and actually if you scroll down a little bit, it shows you the actual time she spent in the air and accumulated to 384 hours. Yeah, with all this talk about CO2 being released in the atmosphere because of the celebrity's planes, what's something that we could do to you know, restrict these celebrities from releasing so much CO2 into the environment? Well, taxing these wealthy people and celebrities who excessively use their private jets can actually reduce the impact they're making on the environment. So what you're saying, Evan, is that we should, you know, put more taxes on these celebrities and therefore, they'll be less likely to use their private planes. Therefore, there won't be as much CO2 in the atmosphere. Yeah, that's actually exactly what I'm saying. And because of the new traction that AI has generated, scientists have never been able to observe air pollution as easily as they can now. Wow, that's super interesting. I had no idea. All right, well, that's all we got for today. Cam, thanks for making it out. I appreciate it. Yeah, man, thanks for having me. You know, chopping it up is a very interesting topic. Next time you do another one, I'll be back for sure. All right. Well, that's all we got for today. Thank you.
