Suzy Hall works in the real estate business and sometimes gets job offers from her ex-husband Peter. However, Peter's new wife, Mindy, doesn't like Suzy. Suzy goes to Peter's law office and asks if he is in. Sharon, the receptionist, signals that Mindy is nearby. Suzy goes into Peter's office and asks about a client named Carl Burgess. Mindy interrupts and warns Peter not to give Suzy any information. Suzy clarifies that she just needs details for marketing a property in Palm Beach. In the real estate business you get to work with friends, but more often than not you get enemies, too. Sometimes my ex-husband Peter Hall offers me a job. It's not that bad, except for his new wife. She hates me. I parked my SLK 350 in front of the law office of Hall, Lewis & Crane and went into the reception area where Sharon was behind the counter. Is he in? I asked. Sharon nodded and gave me the signal that the new wife is close by. Cindy had worked for Peter forever and is very loyal. She's not that keen on Mindy, but wants to keep her job. Peter had his iPad in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other when I walked into his office. He looked at me and said, take a seat. Frank said you wanted to see me about Carl Burgess, I asked. He's a client of mine. What do I need to know about him? Don't tell her anything, Mindy said as she walked into the office. She's just trying to get free information away from you. Our son Michael was barely off to college when I caught the jerk, Peter, and his legal assistant on the research desk. The legal assistant was Mindy, young, tall, slender, and now his new wife.
