The book of Jude 3, Jude number 3, Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I find it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. We are asked here to contend the faith in the midst of crisis. Michael chapter 6 verse 1, last place we are going to read. Hear now what the Lord says. Arise, plead your case before the mountains. The issue of crisis in the world are so overwhelming that we as believers can become paralyzed even to the point of doing nothing about our survival. Whether you grew up as a believer or come to know Jesus Christ, in life the truth is that later in the course of you serving the Lord, you may have a crisis of faith at some point during your life as a believer. When I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, in the year 1984, December 23rd, my mother disowned me. And before my brothers, I happened to be the first born of my mother after 11 years of barrenness. The Lord blessed her with 6 male and 3 female. I'm going to pray for as many as are looking for children here today at the end of this message. But when I got converted, my mother called me before my brothers, picked the second son of my family and said to him, from now you are my first born. My mother told me that she's happy that I'm not the only child that she has. Since I have decided to perish, I shall go and perish. Glory be to God that when the woman saw the hand of God over my life, she gave her life to Jesus and died as a treasurer of our church. And she received district burial when she died. That woman that disowned me. Crisis! I didn't give up the faith as a result of that crisis. In this message today, I would like us to consider the people in the Bible that passed through crisis in one time or another. I will be using some people as case studies in this preaching. Number one, I want to consider the Israelites. I want to consider the Israelites, the people of Israel. Exodus chapter 5 from verse 1 to 11 tells us about the first encounter that Moses and Aaron had with Pharaoh. And this encounter that Moses and Aaron had with Pharaoh brought a very serious, severe crisis to the people of Israel. The Bible says afterward, Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, God said to the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go that they may hold a fist to me in the wilderness. Number two, Pharaoh said to them, Who is the Lord that I should obey? His voice to let Israel go. Verse number three, so they said, The God of the Hebrews has met with us. In this time, the God of the Hebrews, the God of the Israelites will meet us here. I am sure of that. The God of the Hebrews, the God of the people of Israel will meet us at the point of our needs in this time. Irrespective of the crisis that is confronting your life as an individual. Irrespective of the crisis that is confronting us as a church. The God of the Hebrews shall visit us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. This God has bettered the life of the people of Israel. He didn't stop at the land of Egypt. And the story of the Bible is truth. The Lord out of His grace and mercy have helped me to be in the land of Egypt. He has also helped me to be in the land of Israel. If you happen to have the opportunity of traveling to Egypt today, ask them about the Israelites. They will tell you we hate those people. As I am talking to you now, they are still in enmity with the people of Israel. When I asked one of them in Egypt, what brought about this enmity that is still existing till now? They said, we will not forgive them for what they did to our fathers. Moses said to them, The God of the Hebrews has met with us. We have spoken with Him. He has had a discussion with us. He has decided to let us go. He has decided to fulfill the promise He has made to us. Pharaoh said, I don't know this God you are talking about. And I don't want to know Him. Neither will I release the people of Israel to go from serving us. Pharaoh said to Moses and Aaron, Now our number is increasing. And we are in need of your labor. You are trying to remove the people from their labor and from their work. And Pharaoh ordered his servants to double the work of the Israelites. And removing the raw material that they have been providing unto them. In order to push them and also require that they should produce the same brick that they used to produce. Even when they were provided with raw materials. That was crisis. God told them, I am going to show my power to the Egyptians. I am going to strike the Egyptians for your sake. Yes, that did not remove them from entering into crisis. Let me tell you child of God, That you are passing one crisis today or another, Does not mean that God has abandoned you. It doesn't mean that you are no more with God. I want you to wait and relax. God will deliver you out of those crises. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I pastored the first church. By the grace of God I am 31 years old today in the ministry. And I have only pastored three churches. The one that I am pastoring now is the third one in my 31 years. The first church that I pastored, God started doing mighty things at Oji River. And the villagers gathered and said, If we are to allow this man who came to assemblies of God, He will close the building of my catholic. These people forced us, forced our members, That they should participate in sweeping the well known Notorious Shrine in the village. I told them we won't do that. That brought a very serious crisis to us. As people of God, we were ejected. All the living churches were ejected out of the community. Deeper Life, CAC, Assemblies of God, Some members of charismatic were ejected out of the community. Assemblies of God, Anambra district entered into the matter. And were supplying us food as refugees. While we were praying, God said, Out of this crisis, I will glorify my name. Let me tell you, at the end of that crisis, I shared it during my years at the Bible school, the story. At the end of the crisis, the God we have come to this camp to seek, Came down from heaven. The promoters of those crises, God killed every one of them. And the community surrendered themselves, Not as individuals, but as a community to God. And we were given the opportunity of destroying the shrine. The opportunity of being the chairman of the community was given to believers. And they said to believers, Whatsoever you people say is what we are going to do. You will not die in that crisis. God allowed the Israelites to pass through that crisis in the hand of Pharaoh. But at the end of it all, God Almighty was able to deliver them. If you watch what happened to them, In the book of Exodus chapter 14, from verse 1 to 15, When these people approached the Red Sea, I have been to Red Sea by the special grace of God. What divided Egypt from Saudi Arabia is the Red Sea. When you stand at the bank of Red Sea, You will be seeing Saudi Arabia, You will just be seeing them at their corner. The moment you see a canyon that will carry you across the Red Sea, You will just enter Saudi Arabia without disturbance. I have been there. When these people approached the Red Sea, They saw the Red Sea, saw the mountains, Looked behind and they saw the Egyptian soldiers approaching. They shouted to Moses and said, Does it mean there is no grave in the land of Egypt? We asked you to allow us to remain there. Why is it that you have brought us here to perish in this wilderness? God said to Moses, Tell the people to move forward. Today, I am speaking to you, Irrespective of difficult, challenging times, Stressful situations, Crises in life, In your business, In the life of your children, Marriage crisis, I am speaking to you, God said, move forward. In this 2023, nothing will stop you from moving forward. In the midst of those crises, I said, move forward. At the end of it, We will hear God, As He spoke to the Israelites. God said to Moses, Tell them, The Egyptians you have seen, Fast approaching, Coming to deal with you. After what I am going to do, You will not see them again. After what God is going to do for you, In this time, Those harassing moments, Harassing crises of your life, You will no more see them again, In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I want to consider the life of Jacob, In the book of Genesis chapter 25, Verse number 21, Now Isaac pleaded with the Lord, For his wife, Because she was barren, Crises, And the Lord granted his plea, And Rebekah his wife conceived. Verse 22, But the children struggled together within her, And said, Crises, Rebekah said, If all is well, Why am I like this? If there is no crises, Why am I like this? Crises, So she went to inquire of the Lord, Verse 23 said, And the Lord said to her, Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body, One people shall be stronger, In Genesis 27, From verse 129 when you read it, Isaac wanted to transfer Jacob's blessings to Esau, Crises, But his mother intervened, Crises, I enumerated some of the Jacob's crises that I found from the scriptures, In the book of Genesis chapter 28, verse 11, So he came to a certain place, And stayed there all night, Because a song had set, And he took one of the stones of that place, And put it at his head, And lay down in that place to sleep, Crises, Instead of using pillow, He used stone, Confusion, Or crises, That was number one crisis in his life, Genesis, Chapter 29, verse 8 tells us, How he used 14 years, To get Rachel, Instead of 7 years, And many others, Hear the statement of Jacob, When he visited his children in the land of Egypt, When Joseph brought Jacob to Egypt, Hear what he said, When Pharaoh asked him a question, How many years are you? He was born in a manger, Because there was no chance in the inn, Herod killed many children, Because of him, His father took him to the land of Egypt, For safety, Until the death of Herod, A man that was seeking for his life, Many times he escaped death from his people, One of his disciples also betrayed him, Which you know Judas Iscariot, At Bethsemene, Some of his disciples fell to help him, Even to pray when he needed them most, Soldiers were being kept to stop his resurrection, But in all he conquered, That is why he said to us, In the book of John chapter 16 verse 33, He said, These things I have spoken to you, That in me you may have peace, So that in me you will relax, So that in me you will fortify yourself, So that in me you will not allow disturbances of life, To take you out from serving the Lord.
