The Hat Chat Wrap Up covers the sports season at Hapra Horsham High School. The football team had a good season and made it to the playoffs for the first time in many years. The soccer team also had a successful season with some freshmen making the varsity team. The golf team had a decent season and some players qualified for districts and states. The girls' soccer team had a great season and beat their biggest rival Abington. The girls' tennis team had an average season. The boys' basketball team did not do well, but had some standout players. The wrestling team had a successful season with a state champion. The swim team had a fun season with many personal records. The girls' basketball team had a good season and one senior committed to Kutztown University. Overall, the spring season is looking promising. Hello and welcome to the first edition of the Hat Chat Wrap Up of this year. I am Shane Phillips, accompanied by Aiden Chan, Robert Ravinsky, and Chloe Sovchak. And today we will be covering all the sports this year of Hapra Horsham, starting with the fall, going into the winter, and then going into the spring. All right, well, let's get started. Football. The record was five and six. And when I was interviewing my peers, they said that against CR North, a home game, the team clinched the playoffs after this win, the first time in 16, or around 17 years. It's a very great improvement from the past three seasons where they had not a great record, but they made the playoffs. And yeah, the seniors were Ryan, Roman Maranucci, Jackson Bumpus, Steven Sunder, Owen Fisher, Christian Ferguson, Ryan Cutts, and Eli. Players to look out for in the near future is Caden Collazo, Mason Bynum, Daniel Rash, Devin Turchia, Chris Fratman, Luke Foley, and Jason Lebbins. Football has a great, great coaching staff with David Sowers on there. But we're all looking forward to the great season they're going to have. And I was there that night, that home game, man, the energy was electric, let me tell you. I was also there. It was insane. Crazy. It was absolutely insane. Yes. Now we're going to hand it off to soccer. So they had a great season this year. I guess first we'll talk about the seniors. So the varsity captains, Anthony Famiglia and Isaac Akiko, will be leaving this year along with Jack Burster, Osmond Aquino, Christian Payone, and Jason Ballendorf. In some exciting news this year, two freshmen actually made the varsity team. And in the future, the team is looking forward to a lot of new players bringing new opportunities for the program. Yeah, and I'm seeing one of these players, Ryan Clifford, let me tell you. All right, but on a more serious note, you have studs like Logan Gasondy, Logan Clayton. You have the freshman this year, Nick DeLizzie. You have Sawyer Cruz in the goal. We got a great, great lineup for these kids. Oh, you got Christian Patelmo in there. And you have Luke Weiss as well. Great to be looking out for in the near future. Yeah. All right, we'll segue it off to golf. I'll be covering this. We were, because I was sadly on the golf team, 10-6 and 6-4 in the league. The best match that they played was the Hatties' invitation at Talamore at the end of the season. Other highlights were Brent Klawe, Kenny Lutz, and Ryan Park qualifying for districts and Brent Klawe qualifying for states. The seniors were Ryan Park, Dylan Henry, Nick Wagner, Kevin Allison, and players to look out for in the near future is Kenny Lutz, Shane Mills, Eric Ryan, Brad Davis, Brent Klawe, and your boy, Shane Phillips. All league. I have some bad things about that guy. Oh, really? Yeah. Great, thanks. Players that made all league for golf was Kenny Lutz, Brent Klawe, Ryan Park, and Shane Mills. All right. You know, I can take it back to soccer. I got the girls' soccer team. Take it back to soccer. Girls' soccer team? Yeah, yeah. What's more exciting, the varsity team made it to playoffs this year, so that's pretty great. I heard they did pretty well, too. Many seniors are leaving the team this year, so Emma Levin, Sarah Roseng, Sarah Borland, Ella Stringer, and many more. One of the biggest accomplishments this year, they finally beat Abington, so that's one of their biggest rivals. And every game against them, I heard, is pretty intense, and it was a real triumph when they beat them this year. Yeah. I was there for one of their games, and I saw Sarah Borland, senior. She had a crazy goal. It was one of the best soccer I've ever seen. Was that the Plymouth-Whitemore scheme, where she had the overtime goal? I saw that. I saw that. It was a great, great game. You know, I went to a couple of girls' soccer games, and I was very impressed with how the season went. Yeah, they did really well. Really great. I'll be taking it here. Girls' tennis was in the fall this year, and seniors were Pranithi and Sneha, and they had an all-right season with, like, below 500 records. Below 500 records, yeah. And players to look out for would be Allie Thompson, Lola Gardner, Eleanor Peterson, and Taryn O'Donnell. They are all sophomores there. And ladies and gentlemen, we will be moving on to the next season, which is winter, and I will be starting us off hot, but not so hot, with the basketball boys' team. With a record of 4-18, the boys did not have a great year. You know, a bunch of confidential things happened with the firing of our class coach and the bringing in of a new coach, Bill Coleman, shout out to my boy. The best highlight of this year was us winning against Quakertown on our senior night. All of the boys, you know, selled out really hard for all the seniors, which is what you do on senior night, and to get the win was a very great thing. It was very emotional, because we all love our seniors, even though we did not do great this season. Speaking of the seniors, they were Ryan Walter, Vaughn Craig, Amir Cruz, and Jackson Glenn. And the players to look out for in the near future is Kenny Lutz, Shane Phillips, Ryan Smith, the return of Kevin Stroop. Let's go! He's coming back? He is coming back. I did not know that. Kevin Stroop? The star is coming back. It is confirmed. This is amazing. Jaden Thompson, Brad Davis, and Sean McHugh. And another thing to look out for is the hiring of the new coach, Bill Coleman, which I mentioned earlier. Great guy. He will push us to the hardest, and I promise we will be back. I also want to shout out Reece Hinton and Jaden Tian. Jaden Tian as well, yeah. How could I forget? These guys are bright. They have a bright future, let me tell you. Alright, moving on to the next sport for the winter was wrestling. They had a really big season. They had a, oof, there was a lot to talk about. A lot to talk about. You know, not only was the team good, but individual, state qualifiers, Kristoff and Dominic Morrison. And Dominic Morrison, you're 2024. State Champion. Shout out to the boy, Don. Freshman, first year. Freshman, first year, NHA. He is the second warrior ever to win a state championship. Oh my gosh. I also want to say something about, I think something, we had something with like the first brothers, with Ben Stulb and Chris Stulb. They had, they did have a crazy season as well. This is very true. Ben and Chris had a great time together. Yeah, that's very special. Because that is Chris Stulb's senior year. And they do have a little brother, Ollie Stulb. Ollie Stulb, who is coming up. He is. He's going to be a freshman. That's a player to look out for, guys. Yeah. That is a great, great player to look out for. The seniors for the wrestling team was Jack Fedore, Aiden Morrison, Chris Stulb, and Jaden Tian. They all had a great year. You know, great matches. I went to a couple of them. They're hype. I'll tell you. The wrestling matches are hype. The one against Wes Aitken was insane. I saw my boy Quinn Fulmer out there pin some kid and I was hype. Hype. And Jack Fedore actually made an edit of that. I'm assuming. Great, great camera guy. Great camera guy. Even better wrestler. Maybe. Talking to one of the players, they said that the best match was probably getting second as a team at Districts and that they all played very great matches all together. They stuck together as a team. And that the future looks great with a bunch of young kids staying in the program. There's a lot. There's a lot of young underclassmen in there. I feel like it's way too much name, but you know who you are. You know who you are. There's a lot. Also, up and coming senior, Ryan Allgaier. Ryan Allgaier is a great player to look out for. He's a dog. Big senior year coming for him. Yeah. All right. So taking it back to SWIM, they had a good season too. Spencer Alderson, Anna Gockley, and Joel Kurnash are leaving this year as seniors. It was a very fun season with a lot of new personal records. And overall, they did very well at meets. And yeah, looking into the future, the team hopes for, not any in particular, but a lot of new swimmers and hopefully more success. I know one of my great friends from SWIM. Not great, but me and him are boys. Jack Baumgartner, my dad. Me and him are tackling the AP Biology next year. I would like to shout out Annie Gia. She is an elite star. How many records has she broken? Yeah, not only Annie Gia, but Sarah Parker. Yeah, Sarah Parker. All of them. And it's their junior year and they're already committed to D1, D2 colleges. It is insane. And Spencer Alderson, just like wrestling, had a brother, Cooper Alderson. And they're both fantastic swimmers. Had a great year together. And, yeah. I'd also like to shout out my great friend Ilion and Brady Brzozowski. And Pat McFarland. Looking great. Looking great and I really want them to have a great season next year. I was going to talk about Pat. He's a great swimmer too. He's a great swimmer. He's a built man. He lifts a lot. I like him a lot. Yeah. Alright. Well, we're going to segue into a girls basketball, which is our second to last sport in the winter category. Yeah. I want to highlight senior Kitty Randa committing D1 to Kutztown. Kutztown. Yeah, Kutztown. And players to look forward to. We have Maddie Patel. Mia Fisher. Mia Fisher. Madison Dugan. Madison Dugan. Great. One of their best games was their senior night, which they did take home the victory. They did win. It was a really impressive win. Big game from Kitty. Yeah. I feel like the girls basketballs want to come up with all these young underclassmen that are greatly scaled with all the open gyms that they're doing. Gabby Fisher. One of these underclassmen. Oh, yes. That's true. Yes. Very important. Alright. Perfect. Alright, we are swinging into the bright, sunny, somewhat rainy sports. You know, the spring season. Full sports. Yes. Perfectly perfect. And today we'll be kicking it off with tennis. Tennis. Let's go. Boys tennis. Me and Robert will take this one. Yeah. Coming from personal experience with Aiden Chan. Yes. Aiden Chan is actually a star tennis player for us today. Yes. So let's get into, we've got in the doubles tournament, Cole Jordan and Caden made top four in leagues. Very impressive. They gave me top four, and I made top eight with Charlie Batman. Wow, yeah. Yes. We'll talk about the seniors real quick. So that's actually a large percentage of the team leaving is the seniors. Drew Cunn, Charlie Batman, Cole Jordan, Caden Wong, Ryan Park, and Matt Fumo. They're all leaving. Yeah. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Did we forget Brennan Sika? Oh, yes. Oh, we forgot Brennan Sika. I mean, there's so many. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Brennan Sika. Half of our team leave because of just, like, seniors. And we're having three players that are underclassmen stay in varsity, which means that we are going to need a big step up from JV. Our record this year was six and seven, and we had a fantastic senior night. Our senior night for the first year, right, our senior night for the first year was under the lights. So we actually had a night game. We always had morning games. And the show out was amazing. Shout out to some seniors. Marcus Malloy II. Yes, Marcus. Who did get some playing time. And some players to look forward to would be Aiden Chan, Echan Kapadia, and Josh Gladstone. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. We also have a new coach, Mr. Schlenker, and he's a great replacement for Chris Sharman. Next up, we have baseball. The record was eight and 11. And some other accomplishments were senior Steven Pluska had a ton of strikeouts. Junior Jamie O'Neal got all league. Junior Dom Rapinoe had a great year of offense. And to keep an eye out for the future, Colton and Elijah both play JV, but are going to be future varsity outfielders and great offensive players for the Hatters. Elijah's fast and can hit, and Colton can pitch and hit well. More players to look out for the future is Kenny Lutz, Isaiah Brown, Cole Ikedine, Chase Caney, Shane Mills, Brian Thomas, again, Jamie O'Neal. This team is stacked. This team is looking great for the future. You got Dom Rapinoe in there as well. You got a great mix of people. Next up, we have softball. Our record was 14 and 8. And the Lady Hatters traveled to Orlando, Florida back in March and went against a great competition. Varsity won all three of their games to start off the season. We qualified for the district playoffs. Senior Alyssa Tooley had 400 career strikeouts and had first team all league. She was also a pitcher. Can we talk about that? Sophomore Karen Neal earned second team all league. Maya Robbie earned honorable mention all league. And she's a freshman. She's a freshman. Clap it up for Maya Robbie. To keep an eye out for, it would be a freshman, Maya Robbie, and also a freshman, Kennedy Kahn. And yeah, they both have the drive for the game and do great defensively and offensively. All right, switching it up, switching the scheme a little bit. We're sliding back into lacrosse. You know, at this point in the year, coming off the 16 seniors that graduated last year, the record was 5 and 13. And the best game that the boys played was New Hope Solary on their senior night, getting the W in front of all the fans. Seniors were Rona Marinucci, Jimmy Cortez, Dylan Henry, Kevin Allison, Jackson Burster, Thomas Neal, and Nathan Trebizzi. Players to look out for in the near future would be Max Mariano, Nathan Nemchinov, Anderson Kirby, myself, Victor Wilkins, Quinn Fulmer, not just Darius Graziani, but Vincent, yeah, Vincent Graziani, a little freshman, incoming freshman, Victor Lasher, and Brett Yorkel. A lot of all-leagues for the record that we had. We had four all-leagues, I believe. Roman, Jimmy, Max, and Kirby all got all-leagues. So that was great, great improvement, and we're very excited for next year. Yeah. All right, next up, last sport we got, track and cross country. I'm kind of going to put them together. And I got a lot of names here, so I'm going to run through these. So, seniors leaving for track and field, we got Francis Hartigan, Sarah Bolin, Katie Bombas, Clara Walker, Sarah Howard, Rose McGee, Aria Purcell, Cole Scattergood, Rocco Pugliese, Kyle, Sergio, Jack Thompson, Patrick O'Malley, Andrew Marks, Tanner Coleman, Jason Vollendorf, and Luke Brown. Jeez, that is a huge senior class down there. Yeah. And they were so talented. Very talented. A lot of college commits in that group. Yeah. Yeah. A lot of the same names, too, for cross country. We got Nora Sweeney, Francis Hartigan, Cole Scattergood, Rocco Pugliese, Jack Thompson, Patrick O'Malley, Tanner Coleman, and Luke Brown. Let's do some of the records. So, for track, Lily DeCola ran a 10.39 for the new 3200 record. Oh, yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Congratulations to Lily DeCola. Yeah, again, Lily DeCola and Molly Donaldson made the new... Molly Donaldson both made the state. Yeah. They made the championship meet where Lily actually got 7th in the 3200 meter. And District's Molly Donaldson got 5th in shot put. Really? Yeah. We had a star season for Omar, who had a disappointing freshman year, but really, really stepped it up his sophomore year and really has a bright future. Yeah, going over to the boys' team, actually. They won leagues for the fifth time in a row. Oh, yeah! Yeah! Congratulations to everyone. Prince Blaine and Lily DeCola will be competing in the New Balance Nationals meet, where Lily's running the 5K and Prince is running the freshman 100 meter. The girls' cross-country team will be the largest that it's been in four years, and there are two upcoming freshmen and many strong returning runners, as well as many upperclassmen joining the team this coming year. Yeah, sure. Yeah. All right. Well... That is all. It was great having this great podcast. I know it was pretty long and a little bit boring, but, you know, we've got to wrap up. There's a lot of sports. And look out for the near future. We will be covering the beginning and looking forward to the next season. Thank you for having us. Thank you! All right. Bye. Bye.
