Oh, beautiful, thank you I think I'm the opposite of everybody on this line I think I'm the passive one You sure are I'm the passive-aggressive one Like, I'm passive first And then I think I hold my opinion because You guys ain't gonna listen to the passive people anyway So I think I own my opinion And I just let it be what it be And just be there to help put the pieces back together And out of my mind I'm like, I told you what don't work I knew what don't work, but I learn my different languages from different people I guess in my situation I had aunts, I had cousins So, and then I had a godmom So then I had school teachers So, um, I was telling someone the other day Your language is different when you're in a different situation Right When you're at home you talk different And when you're in school you talk different Or when you're handling business Like, um, one of my friends said to me When I'm handling business I'm a whole totally different person Right, right, I agree And they were shocked with me because My whole language, even my tone changed I was just having a conversation with my godson the other day He said, it's not what you say, it's the tone which you use Yes, yes, I agree It makes it I guess aggressive or assertiveness But I learned that with certain people I'm passive And with other people I'm aggressive Okay And then when I'm really trying to get my point across I can be assertive Okay I guess it's whatever mood I'm in that day So, so And my teacher, I don't want to call names But my school teacher told me That your language and how you communicate Effectively You can get your point across without Going overboard Okay If that's safe to say Okay Now I want to go to right here where You made the statement to say that you are Considered as passive Yes What does that mean? Please do No First of Tina Okay so As a Christian There are ways you can express Without Coming out of character And Without allowing people to I would say step on you Now you know I know I am very verbal But Even so Because you represent God And God don't want us to be footstooled So sometimes Because I looked up everywhere we're talking about And The passive Sometimes when we're pushed And like you said it depends upon what that is And they hit that trigger Keywords To a place That you wouldn't have normally gone to Because you were so accustomed Allowing people to just say anything And you would take it and you would sit back and say nothing But then with this is saying that In all actualities sometimes it's dangerous to be passive Yes So Because you know My main concern is Being passive Holding Then that will And that trigger is pushed It could be pushed at a place At a time that you Don't want it to be pushed And then it takes you totally out of control So then it might be better if you ask God to help you To not just remain passive But teach you how To speak up In situations Now I do speak up I do speak up but I shut down first And I think that's also part of it Shutting down is not good either Because it's It's good for you to do Okay now because when God bless you with a husband Right Shutting down is not the key Okay Because they can't get the wrong way Right To shut down And that means y'all need to have a class with me on that first And we're doing it now We have a class So what I'm saying is like I understand what you're saying mother But I really do because I have been put in those situations where The trigger button has been pushed Okay And because the trigger button was pushed It landed me in an 8 week Anger management class Mmhmm Okay That's it Anger management for 8 weeks Right Okay I went for 4 weeks But they told me that 4 weeks wasn't good enough So I had to go back another 4 weeks Oh wow Because they didn't think that I had You got the message Right You know With me going to the anger management class It taught me how To say what I mean And mean what I say without Going to big streams Sometimes we use too many words To say what we want And how we get our point across Okay And if you're not going to listen to me at that time I can say at this time We're not going to discuss this Because neither one of us are listening Okay Neither one of us are hearing what each other is saying So until we can come to the agreement Where we can hear each other Let's table this for a later date When you're ready and when I'm ready to listen Because other than that All I'm going to do is sit here And go back and forth And repeat the same thing over and over And it's not going to go anywhere I have a question Tina So when did you When did you realize that you were Passive when it comes to communication When did that start? Is it a certain part of your life That it started Or You just gradually came into that No I was passive as a kid Okay Okay So It became worse as an adult Because You know I might get in trouble for this But in the In our culture We don't give our kids a voice Okay We have no say You do what I say That's it She is just all up in the Kool-Aid on tonight So for her So when As parents When you tell us to do something Whether we want to do it or not We're going to have to do it So then as we become adults Or Teenagers And we get to the point Where we can make our own decisions One of two things is going to happen You're either going to Go overboard Or you're going to go under Because you're taught That you don't have a voice Now do you think it was In the home Do you think it was because you Grew up in a large family That you became passive Because everybody else Was always so verbal Do you think at some point Yes Okay Yes because when you When you're more than Five in the house Yeah Somebody don't get it Right Like how we were talking last Monday I could be in a room full of people And if you're not talking to me I'm telling you out Right And I've become Because I have done it for so long I could be like Literally in a room full of people And not hear nothing that's going on And when they Continue to use Nah I didn't hear nothing Y'all said I'm sorry Wow Y'all weren't talking to me So I I didn't pay attention Because you weren't talking to me You didn't call my name So you weren't talking to me And you weren't hearing What I'm saying Wow You hit on something for me Yes You hit on something for me That you know As kids when we grow up We don't have a voice Oh my goodness You didn't tend to I just caught on to something In respect to my family Right The women in my family Were aggressive The men in my family are passive Wow We need to get a box of tissue y'all I think we've been to walk into Some delicate situations here Because she brought out She brought out an important part Because In my house It was my dad's room And what my dad said You know we did not have a voice And I think As us growing up We thought We thought my mom didn't have a voice So we had made the decision An unconscious decision That when we become women We will have a voice We will be heard Wow Powerful And my brothers Are just the opposite They communicate totally different They're more passive like my mom And the girls are more aggressive like my father Wow Wow Okay Can I say something?
