Robyn from the Hauntingly Human Podcast introduces her daughter, Selah, who has psychic abilities and shares supernatural experiences. Selah talks about her psychic intuition, where she often knows what her parents are talking about even when she's not present. She also discusses her first supernatural experience at the Myrtles, a haunted plantation house, where she felt hot and her friend got sick. Selah recommends visiting the Myrtles for its history and cool experience. They also discuss their own haunted family house and Selah's experiences there, including doors flying open and a sense of being watched. They plan to do a paranormal investigation there. Hello everyone, this is Robyn with the Hauntingly Human Podcast and we're going to do shorts to drop in between our episodes. We drop those every Sunday and we thought it would be fun to do little mini episodes to give y'all something to listen to while you're waiting on our new episodes to air. So today in the studio I have with me my precious angel, my oldest daughter, Selah. Selah, say hello. Hello. And the reason I thought that I would bring Selah on is because she shares quite a bit of intuition and psychic ability as well as has her own handful of supernatural or strange occurrences. So can you tell me about some things that you've done or things that you could hit to our audience about psychic things that you do often? Well, first things first, how old are you? I'm 14. Right. And what grade are you in? I'm a freshman in high school. Yes. I can't wait for you to get your driver's license. Okay, go ahead. Okay. Well, one thing is I feel like it's definitely not one of my biggest experiences, but it is an experience because it was one of my first. I'm talking about your psychic experience. Oh, my psychic experience? Yes, things that you do psychically, which I know I can name quite a few. Okay, so I can't remember the subject exactly, but a lot of times her dad and I will be having conversations about something and we will not be with her and she will be nowhere around. And then later in the day, like when she gets home from school or back from doing whatever teenagers do, she'll be like, hey, I've been thinking about this so-and-so. And it'll be the exact same thing that we were talking about earlier in the day. You do that to us a lot. Yeah, me and dad, I actually did that the other day. So I was at like my friend's house. He'd come pick me up and I got in the car and then I was like, hey, I wanted to go. It was something about a movie or dinner or something. And he was like, me and your mom were just talking about that. You do it all the time. And I believe that you have done that for a very long time. And I have a major story about that psychic sense with you. But go ahead and tell me what your first supernatural experience was. So I wouldn't say maybe not my hardest, but definitely one that I remember. We did a church trip to the Myrtles. And we had walked into the room, the dining room. We were standing there talking. And all of a sudden, I got like super hot. Over your whole body? Oh, yeah, because I remember us talking about that. And we thought that that could be a way that, you know, some mediums experience different ways in which they receive and pick up on energy. And we were discussing that that could be. That is one of the ways that a lot of mediums can direct and gauge what type of energy. Right. And that's what you did. Right. I definitely like, it was definitely, I had to step out. Like I was super hot. We had walked out, and we had went to the next room, which was, I'm pretty sure it was the room that like they play cards in. So that would be the billiards room. Yeah, that room. And my friend, my friend, she got sick. She got sick there? Yeah. Do you think that it was just everything, like the excitement? Do you think you guys psyched yourself out? I feel like that definitely could have been a possibility, because like obviously the whole ride there we were talking about like how we were so excited, and obviously we're like super big fans of Sam and Colby. Yeah. You even got me on Sam and Colby. Man, I love those guys. I love those guys. Me too. They are so phenomenal. They are. They are hilarious. And I feel like they're definitely like, so I started watching them like before it was all the ghost hunting, and it was just exploring and breaking into abandoned places and stuff. And I feel like they definitely shaped my, like once they did start doing Supernatural, they definitely shaped my view, you as well. But they definitely shaped my view for a lot of my beliefs in the Supernatural community and world. Right. And definitely, obviously. Yeah, because I mean you know a bit about your mom, and you know my experiences, and what I would be considered a witchy mom. So you've definitely grown up in a very less conforming, less strict environment when it comes to youth and beliefs, right? Right. But you had never really got to see or know about actual investigation of paranormal events in places. So Sam and Colby brought you into that world, right? Right. And so you were saying that your first one that you really want to talk about is the Myrtles, and you getting hot, then your friend getting sick. And then we had walked outside, and it just honestly felt like a weight like off of everybody's shoulders, like the energy in the house was just heavy. Right. It was crazy, to be honest. Did anybody feel like they couldn't breathe very well? See, so not that I know of, but we were on the tour with like two other groups, and so honestly I don't know what they felt. But I do know there was this one woman, and as we were walking around doing the tour, she was lurking like in the back the whole time. And we took pictures, and like I thought she was behind us. When we went to go look back at that picture, that woman was not there. So you think that you had a ghost? Right, and I'm not the only person. I wasn't the only person who saw her. And so it was definitely like that's kind of. Did that just happen? Yeah. I was like maybe we were. Maybe she had a leak. Maybe she got sick too. Yeah, I have no clue. So before you were born and before I even was dating your father, I went to the Myrtles. And I had an experience there where we were standing in, I can't remember the room. It was not the billiards room, but I think it was like the woman's version of it. And I felt something tugging like at my pants, like at my knees. And then the guide at that exact time said, and the children are known to play here and tug at people's clothing. And I was literally having that happen to me in that moment. But I also felt like in the billiards room, like a heavy thickness in the air. Like I couldn't really breathe. Right. When we were in that exact room, one of my friends, Rebecca, she was standing there. And she was super cold, so I had to give her my jacket because I had previously gotten hot. And she was saying she had felt something on the back of her shirt. And when she moved, she thought maybe it got stuck on some clothing or something. And when she moved, there was like nothing behind. I mean a chair or something, there was nothing behind her. So that's definitely very interesting. So would you recommend for people to go to the Myrtles in St. Francisville, Louisiana and check the place out? Absolutely. I would 100% even if you don't, even if you're not big on ghost things, I would 100% recommend going to the Myrtles and taking the tour or staying there or any of that. Because even if you're not into ghosts, it's got phenomenal history. And it's like some very sad, tragic surroundings. And it's a super cool experience. And quite a mystery. Right. And the old oak trees there are huge. They're huge. And it's a really cool experience. And everybody there is super nice. And I just would definitely recommend it. So let's move on from the Myrtles and let's talk about a house that we know very well. Oh, okay. So your great-grandmother's house, your alma mater, she lives in an old house. She does. A three-story plantation home, but it was never registered as such. But, yes, so we know quite a bit of history there. And, you know, your mom being who she is has had plenty of experience there and everything like that. We're going to be doing a paranormal investigation there. But you've had some experiences in that house yourself. I've had. And when do you think that they started happening for you? So for me, I feel like my experience, honestly, I've always been, I feel like I've always been like maybe a little bit paranoid. And not in a bad way at all. In the house. In the house, yeah. And like a sense that the wall, it's not necessarily that someone is watching you. It literally feels like the house itself is watching you, right? Yes, it definitely does. Like there were times, like, and I was, like, Sydney, like around 10, I guess. And there would be times that I was, like, playing out in the yard. There would be times that I was, like, playing out in the yard and I just felt like somebody was looking at me. And I'm like, but nobody was there. It's really funny that you say that because most of my channeled messages that I've received have always been outside the home on the yard. Oh, really? On the ground. Okay. So I find it very interesting that you say that. Well, I don't, so I don't think I ever really knew. So I feel like my. Well, it's not something that we ever talk about. Right, right. But I feel like my experiences started, like, getting more noticeable and I started attuning to them more, like, around, like, 13 and 12. You also had to deal with some great sun locks around that time as well. I did. So people usually say that heightens you to the other side. So tell me about your first experience at the big white house. So my first experience in the house, I was, I had been staying the night there and me and my cousin were sitting in the office to study. And we were just sitting there on our phones and all of a sudden the door flew open. To the library? Yeah, the door flew open and hit the bookshelf. So that door does that a lot and a lot of it may be due to, because the way the house was built, you know, back in the old days, you were, they wanted the house built to where you could open all the doors and the wind could blow through because they didn't have AC and stuff like that. Right. So a lot of that is, like, air pool. Right. Right, but you say, and I remember we spoke about this, you say, no, it was more. So the night had already been, like, started off kind of funky because we had, we had thought, so, like, before that, we had thought that we saw something outside and we just kind of talked it off to maybe a car driving by or something or just a shadow in the light. Reflection, yeah. Lots of windows. Yeah, very many. And then the door flew open and then closed. Oh. And so we were like, well, that's a little strange. So we got up because the door didn't fly open all the way. It just kind of, and then, like that. And so we got up because we just, we thought it was Nana playing tricks on us. And so we got up and we, like, looked around and she wasn't there, so we thought she maybe hid, so we went downstairs. Yeah, because Nana's good at that. Nana likes, because she knows that you can get scared at the house a little bit, so she really likes playing into that and become her own little trickster. She does. She definitely does. There, we had went downstairs and she was sitting there on her phone, not moved, watching TV. And so I had brought my friend to the house and we had stayed in that same very room. Shout out. Take care. Yeah, we love you. And then. Watch that child. We saw, we saw something walking back and forth. On the balcony. On the balcony. You two girls were so afraid that night. We were crying. And I've never been afraid at that house all the times that I've stayed there, nothing. And I really don't think that anything malicious or evil or bad is there, but of course the unknown is quite right. Right. And we didn't even, we never even slept. We, like, we had fell asleep for maybe, I think, like a good hour. She woke up and, like, woke me up because she was hearing noises on the window. And so she woke me up and then we never went back to sleep. We stayed up until five o'clock in the morning and then maybe later that day we fell asleep. But it was like we saw something, then the window, the door was flying, like flying open, hitting the bookshelf, shutting back real fast. We're talking about the main entrance of the door, not the jib door. No, not the jib door. And they were flying open and shutting and then we had heard some noise in the yellow room. And we kind of thought maybe it was, oh, we got up to look. And the two double doors that are right there were just kind of, like, slapping back and forth a little bit. Yeah, like where you closed the yellow room up. You're talking about the shutter doors in that area. So a really fun thing about that is that we'll be doing a paranormal investigation on September 30th there. And, Steela, I think you're going to join us, right? I am. Yeah, so you went with myself and Miss Kelly, our co-host, on a paranormal investigation to Rodney, Mississippi. Fun fact about Rodney, Mississippi. On Rodney Road, I have no clue of how long the remains have been there, but it's a very big possibility that when we went out there and investigated Rodney Road, someone's dead body was laid somewhere in the area. Because they had just found the remains of someone, rest their soul, in that area, in the exact area where we were investigating. So you know how whenever we were there, so we had our EMF detector. We had our cat balls. That's always real funny to say. Anyway, so like a little toy that any motion, it makes them light up. None of those worked for us. But our EMF detectors were going insane in a place where there is no electricity. So we investigated a couple of churches and then really traveled very slowly down the road, looking at some of the old houses and things like that. And our EMF detectors were spiking up to like 200. Right. And when we got to that one house, it was like towards the end of the road. We literally, okay, so whenever you go down Rodney Road, it's a hunting camp area. So a lot of people during the off season of hunting, as a matter of fact, Rodney is a flooded town, ghost town. It had flooded. Most people had evacuated, left it. But now there are a lot of houses on stilts there, and hunting camps are what those houses are. Anyway, so in the off season of hunting, a lot of times they aren't there during the off season. So all of these houses are essentially vacant of a live human life. Right. But as we were going down the road, well, the church was very frightening. Both churches, the EMF detectors, we both felt rushes of energy that were almost uncontrollable, right? Kelly had a headache. My stomach was hurting the whole way. That's right. And, well, me, I was just laughing because, well, for one, I was the only one that left offerings for whatever was there. Right. Right, that wanted to communicate or come around us. And those two, you two, were feeling the effects of all kinds of things. But guess who was not? Me. Me. And that brings me to my point. It's always very kind, just like if you were traveling to another country, to leave a gift offering of trade because what happens is the spirit manifests itself. It's going to try to use the energy from you in however they need to get it. Jump scares or draining you, giving you headaches, pulling from your energetic field, and so forth. So I hope you learned a valuable lesson that day. Leave an offering. I definitely did. I definitely did. That was one of the craziest things. And then seeing, like, the curtains and the wind chimes were going. No, it was a fan on the porch. It was a fan. Wasn't there a fan on the porch? No. What was it hanging? Was there not a fan? It was something. It was something hanging on the porch. It was moving, but the curtains we definitely saw move, like, a lot. And it didn't look like there was any electricity to the house. There were no lights on. Like, there was grass growing up through the thing. So I don't know. But we also had some experience with some wildlife that day where the deer literally walked right up to my car window. And you and Miss Kelly were like, skinwalkers. So do you really believe in skinwalkers? I do. I 100% do. And I know a lot of people say that things like that are myths or made up to, like, a scary bedtime story. But I feel like there's too many different types of things like that. Like, I've seen, and they may be fake, they might not, but I've heard too many stories of, like, their dogs disappearing and coming back and not acting the same and wild animals that you would never see walk up to a human, randomly walk up to them and, like, get in their car or take something from them and just walk off like nothing happened. Well, I don't know. I may be crazy, but I really don't believe in skinwalkers. To me, that sounds more like rabies. But I respect people that do believe in that. And the wildlife is kind of crazy. And, hey, some people say it's fighting back. We have had the most sea life attacks lately, even dolphins have attacked people. And, I mean, humans are quite disgusting from time to time. So I kind of understand it. You don't want them. I'm in the middle of that. So anyways, I want to have you on to talk some more. I think that you're really interesting and you have some cool stories to share. So thanks for doing this with me. Of course. And is there anything that you want to, like, look for yourself? You want to throw your Instagram on there? Yeah, y'all can go follow my Instagram, sila underscore Blainey. And you do a lot of digital productions, like tech cut and making little, like, thirst traps is what they are called, right? Right, TikTok. My TikTok as well. My TikTok is. You put videos together of, like, really cute celebrities. Yes, I do. And put music with them. I do. Yeah. They're called edits. That's right, edits. Whatever. But I do a lot of stuff like that. My Instagram is sila underscore Blainey. And my TikTok is silasalsversion. What does that even mean? Sal Vulcano. So everybody's been doing the recent, like, the song Taylor's, like, Taylor Swift. Like Sal from Taste Buds? Yeah. I think he is. Everybody does. Excuse me? Yeah, I think he is one of the most gorgeous men I've ever seen. Oh, no. Okay. But everybody, so when Taylor started, Taylor Swift, I'm not a Swift fan, but when she started producing her new songs, she put whatever the song was and then Taylor's version. And everybody started. And then your Sal's version. Everybody started turning their profiles into that with their names and then the verse saying that. So I have been creative ever since. If I would have got a hold of him, he would be your daddy. Well, anyways, Lily, with that, I hope you have a great day and you enjoyed listening to us. Tune in for our next episode. Bye.
