And we're back, right here on the Underswimming Line, Doc and Larry P. discussing Ja Morant. And so this is what I want to talk about, and I know I'm a parent, and I think about what my kid's future is all the time, and I empathize with Michael Irvin, Michael Irvin is a former NFL player, he did cocaine, all facts, Michael Irvin is a NFL Hall of Famer, who did cocaine, and Michael Irvin has a son who raps, Michael Irvin's son's rap name is Tut Tarantino, Tut Tarantino grew up in a gated community, and went to very nice schools and lived a very good life, Tut Tarantino raps about hood stuff, and my question is, when I think about the Tut Tarantinos, when I think about the Ja Morants, when I think about the Tariq St. Patrick, when you know, as a parent, you've done everything you were supposed to do, but your child goes out and tries to be a goon, how do you feel as a parent, like what are you supposed to do, what can you say to your child to say, listen, everything you're doing is a terrible idea, well, as I said earlier, I'm a fan of Tariq St. Patrick, and anybody watch Power or watch the Ghosts, you just realize, there was nothing the Ghosts could have done to stop Tariq from doing what Tariq wanted him to do. Well, there was one thing Ghosts did, which was, tell him, you can't have any money unless you graduate from college, which is the only reason that that series even exists, is because Ghosts put that in to his last-moving testament, it was a great move by Ghosts, now, getting killed, not a great move, but setting your kids up, good move, good move by Ghosts. Technically, they only set up one kid. Well, one's dead. And the other is, who knows. And then the other one don't really be on the show. So, he only set up one kid. Maybe it's setting up for her to have her own show. No, nobody want to see that. We don't know that. Nobody wants to see that. Depends on the writing. Nobody want to see that show. You don't want to see that show? No. That's like, they did Creed I, Creed II, and Creed III, and they tried to give us a little foreshadow that Creed IV is going to be his daughter fight. Nobody want to see that. Stop at Creed III. Stop right there. True, because I will also argue that when they went with these multiple spinoffs of power, it's a bit over the top. Did we really need Kanan, did we really need Force, Ghost, and what's the one with Kanan? I don't know what that's called. Raising Kanan. Raising Kanan. Did we need all of that? Nobody cares about Force. People care about Raising Kanan more than they care about Force. And they got one more spinoff that they never even got off the ground, because I guess Force they knew well, but it's supposed to be one of Loren's take cares. How did Tommy not die? That's the real question. When was he supposed to die? Oh, in that fire? He's Force. The Force was about Tommy. How does Tommy not die? I haven't watched that series. Me neither. My question is, how did we get to a point where Tommy even was alive to have a series? Because he stayed alive. Tommy was alive. He went to Chicago. Tommy was a wild boy. See, people who are really out here in these streets, they won't be out in these streets, no matter what. People who are out here faking it, like trying to figure it out, like, I wanted to look like I'm in these streets, but I'm not really in these streets, they'd die. Which is what happened with Ghost. See, he was trying, you know what I'm saying? They call them part-time drug dealers. Nobody like a part-time drug dealer. There's no such thing as a part-time drug dealer. Either that's what you do, or that's not what you do. Either you're married to it, or you're not. Facts! You can't be like, alright man, I sell drugs after I get done working my 9-to-5. Or on my lunch break. You can't be a goon that plays in the NBA. That's not the way that it works. Like, that's not the way it works. You don't, like, build a license full-time. And, to try to do it in a part-time way is disrespectful to people who do it full-time. Because there are people who do this because they have to. There are people who smoke guns, sell drugs, and live that street life because they feel like they have to. So, for somebody to come in and feel like, I'm doing this for show, that's disrespectful to them. So, what was Aaron Hernandez? Again, what happened? Well, he got, one, got hemmed up. Got hemmed up. Ended up going to prison. And when he got to prison, realized, maybe I'm not about the life I thought I was about. And, you know, I don't want to talk about mental health on this show, but he made his decision. So, like, that's what happened. When he was playing ball, though. When he was playing ball. Was he a killer or was he a ball? When he was playing ball, what he should have been doing is playing ball. It's okay. Here's the thing. This is what I want to say to all people who came out from the struggle and from the hood. It's okay to leave that life behind because you have made it to a different point in life. It is fully okay to not be from the streets. What if that's all they got, though? But that's not all you have. That's not all Aaron Hernandez has. What if that's all he has? Aaron Hernandez did not need to continue or start doing the things that he was doing. Allegedly. What if all he wanted to do was be a goon? Why don't you want better for yourself? What has occurred in your life that you feel like the best course of action is, I'm going to be a goon? Because you feel like, see this is a problem. They feel like they can't amount to anything more. Who instills this in you? Because you got to think about it. What does Aaron Hernandez do after football? You retire. You raise your kids. You live a good suburban life. That's boring. So? I'm about to kill him. Ain't nothing wrong with boring. Goon. There's nothing wrong with boring. Gooning is fun. Gooning is fun until you die. Like there's nothing wrong with living a boring suburban life. I say this as somebody who lives a boring suburban life. But gooning is fun. And I don't think people that want to goon, I don't think they're prepared to live a boring suburban life. Well, see that's the thing. So going back to Ja Morant. Ja lived for most of his life, to the best of my understanding, a boring suburban life. He don't love that. Gooning is fun. And now he wants to do hood rap stuff with his friends. And even his friends be sitting there like, this is the funniest thing about the video that actually got him a 25-inch vision. He's in the car. He's rapping lyrics. He pulls out what looks like a gun but what is actually a cigarette lighter. And he's in the car like, yah, yah, yah, with the cigarette lighter. And his homeboy who's in the car with him is like, oh, I need to get off the camera. The people who are with him realize, hey, that is a terrible idea. And he don't get it. But he the one with the money. Gooning is fun. For him. Because he has the option to gooning. Gooning is fun when you have the option to do it. When gooning is your only option, it ain't fun. It's work. But after they find their way out, life gets boring. Yah, most of them don't find their way out. There's two things that happen. You keep gooning and you die. That's it. Because even when you get locked up, you can't un-goon in prison. You don't get to prison and decide, hey, you know what, now that I'm locked up, I think I want to turn myself around. I'm just going to do my time and stay in my cell. Well, you got to figure out, you got to have some goons behind you. You got to have some type of community to stop you from getting ransacked. Honestly, man, I would try to join the Aryan Brotherhood if I was going to jail. So, if I got hemmed up in that way, you know, I think my only option would be to be a snitch until they get me out. I'm savvy. They don't like that. Yah, I'm just trying to get out. I don't care about that. I'm trying to get out. That's one thing about being a snitch in real life. It's another thing about being a snitch in jail. Is me snitching going to get me out of jail? But you got to make sure they don't know that you snitching. Because once they find out you snitching, it may get you out. That's my first question. Whenever I'm in a room, it's like, before I tell you anything, is this going to get me out? Can you show me that in writing? Okay, I need that in writing. I need a copy to my attorney and I'll tell you anything you want to know because I just need to get out. I don't want to be in there. But that's just me speaking as somebody who's not built for that life. I'm not built for that prison life. I don't ever want to see jail, prison. I don't even want to see a room where they sit and ask me about jail. I don't want no part of that. The Aryan Brotherhood, is that what you mean? They're not going to let you in. Yes, they will. They're not going to let you in. Listen, plantations have overseers. I don't see the difference. That you negotiate. Listen, you don't understand. I don't understand. Y'all don't even know y'all roots. Y'all don't like them, right? Listen, I'm them. I can tell you. I can tell you everything you need to know to not like them more. Y'all don't even know y'all roots because if y'all knew y'all roots, they had the slaves but they also had some black people on their side. You need me to be here to help y'all be racist. So you don't even understand that. I'm the middle man. I'm the middle man. I'm like car insurance. You want to just start hitting people, driving them off the road? You need me. I keep the blacks in line. But what I'm saying is, I don't think that would work. But I would find something. My main objective would not be to make my life as good as possible while I'm in. My main objective would be, what do I need to do to get out? And once I'm out, I'll always be able to justify that. Like, hey, hey Doc, we heard you was snitching in there. Yeah, man, I had to get out. I don't know. I don't really know what y'all expected. Did you expect me to just hold it down and stay in prison? No. No, please. No, I'm telling it on everybody. And I got my plan. Because if I'm already in there, I did something. Maybe. Maybe if you're out here trying to stunt for social media. If I'm in there, I did something. I know I did something. See, me, I disagree. See, I might be in there for being wrongly accused. I ain't going to be wrongly accused. I did something. I might have been with the wrong people. And once I realized I was with the wrong people, let me tell you what's going to happen to the wrong people. They getting locked up. Don't do crimes with me. I'm going to tell you that right now. Because I'm telling you, I did something. I already know what I did. Speaking of knowing why we're there, next week, we're going to talk about something. It's time for one. I heard all that ice on that.
