The main ideas from this information are: - The Super Bowl was a big pop culture event, with the Kansas City Chiefs beating the San Francisco 49ers. The halftime show by Usher was well received. - The Super Bowl became the most watched American television program of all time. - There was a shootout at the Kansas City Chiefs Celebration Parade, resulting in one death and multiple injuries. - X-Men 97, Deadpool, Wolverine, and the Fantastic Four were announced, and will be discussed later on the show. - The show will also cover a news story about a defense attorney for rapper Young Thug being arrested on gang charges. - The host shares their thoughts on the Super Bowl and the halftime show, as well as their favorite halftime shows in the past. Hey everybody, how y'all doing? Welcome of course to Pop Culture Power. The show where we discuss pop culture and its power sometimes. So I guess the biggest pop culture thing we can talk about that happened recently is the Super Bowl, y'all. Let me turn that down a little bit. There you go. So yeah, biggest pop culture thing so far, the Super Bowl for sure. Of course the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers. I mean it was a pretty, I'm not a big football guy. I'm not a big sports fan in general. But it was a pretty back and forth intense kind of game. I thought the 49ers had it. I thought they, I thought they pulled their card, but no, I forgot. Nah, it seems like, what's that quarterback name? The Chiefs, they're the main characters now. This is their league and we're just all watching it. Yeah, but it's actually, I'm slightly sadder news. I'm actually, let me weigh in on that part. But also the other thing I wanted to mention too is Usher did the halftime show. He did an amazing job in my opinion. I know a lot of people got on like Alicia Keys for missing that note at the beginning, but I thought she did a good job as well when she was just a guest appearance. I thought overall that was a great time there. Not as many memorable commercials though, you know? But actually if I'm right, this year's Super Bowl became the most watched American television program of all time, I think at like 130 million people, something like that, you know? That's nuts, that, you know, like, that, I mean, it's not surprising, but it's like, it's still like, it's crazy to think about that many people saw it, you know? Also in some slightly sadder news, there was a shootout at the Kansas City Chiefs Celebration Parade, and of course in Kansas City. Last time I checked on it, one person died and I think about 20 people got hurt. You know, sad news there, that, you know, you have to worry about your life in a parade, just having, like, you know, you can't go to a parade, you can't go to the grocery store, you can't go to church, you can't go to the movies, school, you know, it's just sad to see people, you know, get hurt in a place where they should, you know, have the basic expectation of safety, you know? Just thoughts and prayers to the victims of that. Also in entertainment news, X-Men 97, Deadpool and Wolverine, and the Fantastic Four were announced, and we'll be discussing all that today in the show, in a later segment. And also as well, NBA All-Star Weekend, it was going on in Indianapolis, yep. Yes sir, yes sir, so, we're gonna be spending our show talking about three things, this, you know, today. We're gonna talk about, you know, basically my thoughts on the Super Bowl, everything, you know, talk about everything that went down there, what popular things are going down, and then segment two's gonna be my favorite today. We're gonna be talking about the dumbest cop I think I have ever heard a news story about. That's gonna be a classic too. And of course, for number three, we'll be talking about X-Men and the MCU, so don't go away, y'all. We'll be right back after this song. Hey, welcome back, you. How you doing there? Just sitting there, chilling there? Well, let's get into the show. And before I start, of course, let me acknowledge, you know, Eric isn't here today. Of course, he's busy, you know, getting that school work done, putting that work in so that, you know, he can be a great marine scientist, marine biologist. Yes, yeah, that's right, second one, a great marine biologist. Anyways, I wasn't opening the segment up, talking about my thoughts on the Super Bowl and everything that went down, and we'll get to that. But as I was scrolling through my feed during the break, I'm looking here, it says YSL defense attorney, Nicole Fagan, arrested on gang charges, according to WSB-TV, which is a news station in Atlanta. And let me just break down that case for a moment here, all right? For those who don't know, rapper Young Thug from Atlanta has been going through a, Rico has been going through basically multiple different criminal charges. He's been accused of starting a record label and running it as like a gang, like the record label is a cover for his gang, allegedly. And you know, it's been a pretty interesting case. For starters, I think the defense attorney, like his opening argument or opening statement, he says that the name Young Thug stands for, it's not the meaning he's big of, no, no, no, no, no. The meaning of Young Thug is truly humbled under God. That boy going to jail, okay? I'm sorry to all Young Thug fans out there for like hurting your dreams or whatever, but that man is going, he's not going to jail, I'm sorry. I am wrong on that one. He's going to prison, federal prison, the big house. Okay, that's my prediction. And the reason why I predict that, number one, when you are, you know, when the government charges you with a Rico charge, in most cases, they have like decades of evidence on you. That's, you know, that's thing number one. Thing number two, there's a YouTuber named Traplor Ross who has like this entire, I think, three hour documentary on YouTube about the history of YSL, which let me explain what that stands for, by the way. I think YSL, see what the gang meaning stands for and what like Young Thug's label says it stands for are like two different things. But basically the YSL gang, this guy Traplor Ross, he's a British YouTuber who made a three hour documentary on YSL, only through social media, like just gathering social media posts and things of that nature, he's never been to America. And yet he's able to find enough information just on the internet alone to make a three hour documentary about, you know, their alleged activities. So if someone who is not from America is finding out all this information casually, for free, for entertainment, can find out that much information, the government has a lot more. That's all I'm saying. I will mention that. So yeah, just to reiterate, according to WSB TV in the Atlanta Police Department, the YSL, the one of the defense attorneys for the case has been arrested on gang charges, which is, you know, to be a lawyer accused of being a part of a gang, it's just, that's just crazy. And you know, this is, yep, Nicole Feagin. I don't know if I pronounced that right. I'm assuming I did, but yeah. So that whole trial is gonna be interesting to see. So moving on from that, let's talk about the Super Bowl, y'all. So it's interesting. Normally I have like, you know, even if I'm not a fan of either team in the Super Bowl, I always like say, okay, this time around, I'll root for this team, you know? This one was hard for me, because I don't really care for the 49ers like that, on one hand. And on the other hand, I mean, I do like Travis Kelce. I think he's a cool guy. I mean, I watch his podcast. I think he seems like a nice, fun guy. But on the other hand, he's dating Taylor Swift. And it's like, I'm not a big Taylor Swift fan. Matter of fact, there's a Taylor Swift song in the track list that will play after I'm done talking. I'm skipping that. Sorry, y'all, Swifties. Come fight me about it. Nah, I'm just playing. Don't fight me about it. You guys scare me. But anyways, so it's like, yeah, I'm conflicted. On one hand, I wanna see Travis Kelce win. On the other hand, I wanna see Taylor Swift's boyfriend lose. So it's like, you know, you got that conflict there, right? So I decided, you know what? I'll go for the 49ers, you know? Let's go for the underdogs. Because for those who don't know, the Chiefs, they have been, this is their, they just did a back-to-back victory, you know? I think in 2019 they went as well. Again, I guess they beat the 49ers in 2019 as well. So, you know, they're like, this is an upcoming dynasty. Hell, the upcoming part is, I mean, to be argued, you know what I'm saying? So, of course, yeah, you know, kinda got my heart broke. When it turns out, no, the 49ers lost and the Chiefs won. You know, shout out, respect to their victory. I will say, I think after the game, they did say, like, they didn't know the rules to how overtime worked. I think at the press conference, one of the players, I think one of the players did, I don't remember how many, I don't remember how many of them, like, what was that true for, but how are you playing a football game and you don't know the rules? Especially something as basic as overtime, like, that's kinda crazy. That's probably why they lost. They weren't nearly as well prepared as the Chiefs were, I guess, you know, the game proves that. But besides, you know, of course, the game itself, the important part happened, the halftime show, y'all, was usher. The halftime show is my favorite part of every single Super Bowl show, man. So, for me personally, I'm trying to think my favorite halftime show. It's probably Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I still think that one's the best, but usher did a really good job. He had a lot of good visuals. The whole roller skating thing was nice to look at. You know, the dancing, the movement was great. His track list of just, like, memorable songs were amazing, you know? I think I was singing along to just about everything he played, even when he was singing OMG, that was great. And then he brought in Alicia Keys for My Boo, and I was like, yo, that's my favorite usher song, man. That was amazing, you know? And I know, I think a lot of people, some people got on Alicia Keys for missing that one note, but I'm like, yo, I mean, I think she missed a note in the beginning, but if you're not looking for it, honestly, you wouldn't hear it, I mean, but that part of it was great. It's funny, I have a close friend of mine, Macy. You know, she's a real big music person, or at least pop music person, I guess. We were really having this debate about which Super Bowl halftime show's the best, like we in a barbershop or something, bro. Oh, man, but, yeah, she says, oh, no, the best one's Beyonce, because she's a big Beyonce fan, what else she gonna say? But for me personally, my top three, right? Bruno Mars, let's see, Michael Jackson. That was, Michael Jackson, it's hard to beat him. I only give Bruno Mars ahead of his, but I feel like it's pretty close, but for me, it was visually a lot more interesting, just because Michael Jackson's halftime show's the first of its kind, so, you know, they're working at King's at that point, but Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson. Number three kind of changes, I'm not gonna lie. It's hard for me to decide who is my third favorite. This is a weird one, I don't think people have heard of this one as much, but this one, actually, I didn't see it live, of course, because it was happening, I think it happened like three days before I was born, but, oh, no, four days before I was born, but it was the Aerosmith, NSYNC halftime show. That was another cool one, where they, you know, just combine those two, just combine pop and rock together. That was a fun show, too, they had NSYNC, you know, Justin Timberlake, Aerosmith, and Britney Spears. It was great, it was the most 2002 thing ever, you know what I'm saying? Good stuff right there, you know? I'm not thinking anything else, I mean, I have, oh, another, I guess, controversy, to say, came out of the Super Bowl, was in the first half, you saw Travis Kelce yelling at his coach, Andy, I think his name was Andy Reid, and a lot of people were like, no, a lot of people were like, how dare you? Like, Andy Reid is like, you know, apparently he's the most beloved person in the NFL, considering how many people were so mad at Travis Kelce for, you know, yelling at the guy, you know? But I was surprised that so many people were outraged about it, you know? Not to say it's right to yell at your coach or yell at people, but, I mean, in the NFL, I mean, you know, especially in a big game like that, adrenaline, emotions are running high, I mean, I'm not surprised that kind of thing happens, you know? And maybe it's because I'm an NBA fan, because I don't, you know, like, I would argue in the NBA, like, some of the players have more control than the coaches do. Like, especially, you know, like, if you're on a team with LeBron James at this moment, as the coach, you're not the head of the team. LeBron is. You're part of LeBron's team, but, yeah. So overall, an enjoyable overall Super Bowl experience, you know, great stuff. Coming up next, I can't wait to tell you this story. Acorn Cop, y'all. That's all I'm gonna give you, Acorn Cop. Coming up next on Pop Culture Power, y'all, WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina's student radio station. All right, y'all, so let's talk about it. Acorn Cop. Now, what do those arrangement of words mean? Let me break it down. So, there's this cop in Florida, right? He's talking to this guy about stealing his girlfriend's car, something like that. Puts the guy in the back of the squad car. I think it was two cops, actually. But, yeah, these cops are talking about, you know, putting this, they put the guy in the back of the squad car, and I guess while he's over there by his car, an acorn from a tree, you know, drops from the tree, hits his car, makes a dink noise. And then the cop goes, shots fired, shots fired! And then gets down on the ground. And he goes, oh, I'm hit, I'm hit, I'm hit! And starts rolling around like something's wrong with him. Acorn hits the car. That dink noise, apparently he heard as pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, you know, and oh, I'm sorry, no, he didn't just drop it to the ground. First, he unloads the clip into his squad car with the handcuffed man in it. Unloads the full clip of his gun into the car. Then rolls around on the ground, oh, I've been hit, I've been hit, and calls his partner over. Oh, I've been hit, and his partner, she's concerned, she runs over there. That man was hit with nothing, okay? The only thing that got hit was the cop car by him. This man, yo, okay, so, so many crazy things. I'm sorry, let me slow down, let me slow down. So, issue number one. Okay, you think that you're being fired at. Why would you think it's coming from the handcuffed man in the cop car? Because when, you know, you're handcuffed, you're put in the back of a cop car, you know, they search you for weapons and all that. Where did you think this man would've pulled a gun from? You think he's firing with his kneecaps, with his toes? Two, look, I get that you can misinterpret sounds, right? So many, I mean, you know, I've heard so many different cases where people thought gunshots were like firecrackers and vice versa, but I promise you, an acorn sounds nothing like a gunshot when it's on, like, metal. I bet you all you heard was a dink. Why is this man so jumpy? That's the big question here. Don't be wrong, it might be like, you know, some sort of mental thing going on, but the odds are, I feel like it's just plain old stupidity. Bro, again, acorn dropped from his car. He goes insane. Unload the clip. And luckily, oh, let me mention, too, the, you know, the guy that was handcuffed in the cop car, he's completely fine. All targets were dropped, you know, because, I mean, because at this point, they were pretty good because they had to drop those charges. This is according to AP News, what AP News wrote. It says, the man who's being questioned about sending his girlfriend's car was not injured on the November 12th shooting. He was taken into custody, but released without being charged. The officer who initiated the shooting, you know, I can't say the word I want to say, but the dummy who, you know, fired at his own car, he resigned before I guess he could face any like punishment from his job, which I'm not sure like, again, I get that like the odds are here. It wasn't like, he wasn't trying to hurt anybody. He was just, you know, you made a really stupid mistake. There's no like, there has to have been a crime committed here. Like, I don't get, I was just like, you could do something that stupid and nothing happens to you legally. You know what I mean? So, oh, also, guess where this cop's from? Guess what is happening? Take a wild guess. Florida. Why is it always, what is going on in Florida? What's in the water? What's in, I don't, I don't know, bro. Like, every time I hear a crazy news story, it's either Florida or New York. Okay, y'all states need to get it together, bro. Cause this is insane. Let's see here. So I'm trying to find more information on this AP news article. Um, oh, but his partner who, I think she fired some shots as well when he heard the guy, you know, screaming shots fired and everything. This now, she was found, her use of deadly force was going to be reasonable as she was exonerated, which I can kind of get that. I mean, all she heard was, you know, her partner screaming shots fired and, you know, him freaking out. So I can guess why she would, you know, in a specific decision, you know, fire, fire her weapon. I can kind of get that. But, um, actually I think the biggest question here is, how did this guy make it past basic training? Like, how did he become a, how did he get, how did this man who thought an acorn hitting his car was a gunshot, how did he get a job that involves him being given power and a weapon? How did he get this job, bro? I need to, I need, I need answers. You know what I'm saying? Because like, I feel like as a police officer, it's weird, you gotta be like, you have to be patient with people or to be a really good one, you have to be patient with people and yet at the same time, you gotta, you know, like, no one's like, you know, how to best use your basic instincts. I guess I'll put it that way. That's like, this man did none of those things. Straight up, he was not thinking, bro. I just, I don't get how this man got away with what he did. And, um, oh, we found this out too, by the way, you know, the, what do they have it, the body cams, which that's another scary thing to think about. If there weren't like body cams, like if that technology wasn't around, this guy could have easily lied and said, I don't know, the guy in the car somehow got a weapon or something and he could have just covered it up and people would really have no choice but to believe him. Like, it's a really good thing that we have this kind of technology these days, bro. Like, it really is. But I'm just shocked that like, he's not like, arrested for, you know, because he, when he's firing those shots, you know, at the car, he could have easily bounced off and hit, you know, somebody's house or hit somebody, you know, hit somebody else. And it's just, it's crazy that, you know, this happened. And this guy just basically, he got to quit his job. He wasn't, he got to quit his job and he wasn't fired, like, immediately, you know? But, um, also too, I think that guy, I don't know if he's, I don't think there have been any reports about the guy who got, you know, shot at. If he's gonna sue, he absolutely should. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm talking millions of dollars, bro. Like, that guy deserves some money after like, because imagine how scary that is. You're being shot at for absolutely no reason. And you know, like, thank God that guy lived, man. Okay, this happened in a place called Okaloosa. Okaloosa County, okay. And the deputy, his name, the guy, the stupid guy firing at the car, his name is Jesse Hernandez. And the guy, and his partner, the guy, the lady with him was a sergeant. If, you know, if that information means anything to y'all. Um, let's see what else we got here. According to the report, at the same time, I felt like an impact on my right side, like upper torso area. It's like, sir, it's got an acorn, it's not a bullet. It's like, oh my gosh. But I have to share that with y'all because that story just, you know, it blows my mind, bro. Like, it's just amazing that like, someone can do something that stupid. You know, get away with something that freaking dumb. That just, it blows my mind, man. I don't think I, I don't really do the whole dumb person of the week thing anymore, or superman of the week anymore. But, you know, like, cause I don't really need to at this point. He is dumb person of the decade, I crown him. Stupid person of the decade. I think it's gonna be very hard to top that. I really do. Oh my gosh, but. Oh, I guess this is a statement from the police department. Okaloosa. It says, though Hernandez's actions were not ultimately warranted, we do believe he felt he was, we do believe he felt his life was in immediate peril, and his response was based off of the totality of circumstances surrounding this fear. Just as we have an obligation to protect our officers so they can go home safely to their families, law enforcement has the same obligation to any citizen for being investigated for a crime. There you go, see? I mean, it's crazy stuff going on, man. You know, crazy, crazy activities. I just, I had to share it because, I mean, like, you don't hear about stuff like this every day, you know what I'm saying? Like, that's just, I really hope that cop, you know, I really hope he is, that either he's put in jail or sued to all heck, you know? Because it doesn't make sense why it's possible he may suffer no consequences whatsoever. Absolutely insane, yeah, but don't go away. Next up, we'll be talking about all the Marvel stuff that dropped, you know, for our final segment. And it's a lot of stuff, you know, so we'll deal with all that in our next segment. Don't go away, stay right there. It's, of course, WCC Radio, Coastal Carolinas City Radio Station. Pop Culture Power, baby. Welcome back, everybody. So let's talk about all the new different Marvel stuff that's released because there's a lot, I think, interesting projects going on here. So the first one I want to talk about because I'm the most excited for it, I am the number one fan of Deadpool. No, you're not, I'm the number one fan. No, you're not. I am. You poopy head. I, Deadpool, I don't know why I just went that direction. Deadpool and Wolverine, yo, it's gonna be a classic, man. That's gonna be, Deadpool and Wolverine is the name of the third Deadpool movie. Um, and so far, they also dropped a trailer during the Super Bowl, and it's a great trailer. It's a funny trailer, but they haven't given, like, a ton of information yet, which is good. You know, you don't want to spill everything yet, I guess. But so far, all the things we really know is, you know, of course, Deadpool from any of the co-stars. Um, and we also know that, basically, it's gonna be, like, a multiverse hopping kind of adventure with Deadpool, which I think, that means the comedy is gonna be just amazing in this one. Let's see here. And of course, it is gonna be rated R as well. You know, they're not going PG-13, at least not yet. But, let's see, that's rated R. And also, too, the TVA organization from Loki, they're gonna make an appearance in this as well, which is cool. Man, I just really miss seeing Deadpool's stuff, man. His forthbreaking humor, you know, I think there's some people these days that are like, they're not quite into that, they don't like that kind of humor, but I love that kind of stuff. And, you know, him talking about how he's gonna save the Marvel Universe. You know, it's great, man. Um, let's see here. I guess we also found out Sean Levy will be the director as well. He directed Free Guy and The Atom Project, a couple other Ryan Reynolds movies, so that's cool. Let's see here, what else, what else? So, let's get into the rumors part of it, because I don't think we have much fact for now. Rumors, okay, rumor number one is that we're gonna see other actors and characters from the X-Men universe. And I mean, in particular, the Fox-Men X-Men universe. I feel like that part might be true. See, I feel like, as far as X-Men we're gonna see, obviously we're gonna see Wolverine. And if we see Wolverine, we're probably gonna see Professor X. And we're gonna see Magneto, I think. I can see Holly Berry showing up in Storm 2. And Rogue. I really think a lot of those main characters you saw from the first couple X-Men movies, we'll see them. I think we might, this one's a stretch too, but I feel like if we're seeing characters from the Fox universe, I feel like we might mess around. I really hope they bring back Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider. I really hope they do that. I mean, that's gonna be awesome if they do it. Those are some underrated movies, in my opinion. But let's see, I think that's gonna be probably on the list. Who else do I think I'm gonna bring back? I said Magneto already. Oh, Colossus. Colossus is a character, I mean, he was in the original X-Men movies, but he's also in the Deadpool franchise. And I think, I wanna say he made an appearance in the trailer as well, so that'll be cool. Because I've always liked, in the Deadpool movies, Colossus in Deadpool always had this like, you know, crazy man, straight man kind of stick. Stick, that's the word I said. And you know, Colossus, he plays a good, like wholesome kind of good guy. And so I think that's gonna be good. There's another character in the movie, which if you've never seen Deadpool, this is gonna sound like a weird name, because it is a weird name. This younger character named Super Negasonic Teenage Warhead who coincidentally is in her 20s now. She's another important side character from the first couple of Deadpool movies, and she's seen in the trailer as well. So I think as far as the Deadpool movies themselves, I think just about most of the cast from those are coming back. I don't know how much role they're gonna play, especially with this whole multiverse thing. If they play a role in it, it's probably not gonna be like a Colossal role, you know what I'm saying? I feel like at most, we're gonna see them in the first couple of scenes, and then the plot will move on from the multiverse stuff from there. So that's gonna be interesting. Also too, this multiverse stuff going on, I feel like Dr. Strange is gonna get involved somehow as well. Maybe not for too terribly long, but for like a three minute cameo, I can see that. Oh, and also as well, another fun fact, this trailer, I think I'm not the only person hyped for this, because this trailer became one of the most viewed movie, this trailer got 365 million views in 24 hours, beating out Spider-Man. Yo, as a Deadpool fan, let me tell you how passionate I am about Deadpool, right? The first one, I think it was the first one. I tried to see that with my cousin Alexis, shout out to her, Alexis Floyd, shout out to Leggy Cozzo. I tried to see it with her, but at the time I couldn't, because I think the movie theater had like a stupid rule, where it's like, she was old enough to see the movie by herself, but she couldn't buy me a ticket. So, we had to see Ride Along 2 instead, which, you know, with Kevin Hart, which I'm like, eh, it's fun, it's entertaining, but it's not Deadpool, man. So, I think about a couple months later, I was able to buy the digital version of the movie on my PlayStation 3, and I think I, bro, I re-watched that movie like 10 times. And that's just the first one. The second one is my favorite. I've seen that one a bunch of times. I've seen every single version of that movie, and what do I mean by that? I've seen the original theater version. I've seen the uncut DVD version. I've seen the PG-13 Christmas version. I think I've seen the censored TV version. I've seen every version of that movie, because I'm obsessed with it, man. It's a fun comedy action flick. I love those kind of movies. I'm a big fan of like, you know, your Rush Hours, your, what movie did I just mention? Oh, you know, Ride Along. Action comedies, man, are just, you know, to me, a good action comedy film is like a bag of potato chips, you know? They're usually good, they're good no matter what, you know what I'm saying? But yeah, so I went off on that tangent. Let's see, let's look at some more, I guess, rumors here. So again, rumors are that, you know, we're gonna see like other original X-Men. Uh, oh yes, and there's also a rumor that a lady version of Deadpool's gonna be in the movie as well, because it's a whole multiverse thing. So in the comics, there's an alternate universe where Deadpool's a woman. And it's rumored that Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds' wife, is gonna be playing Lady Deadpool. Yep, so let me also use this more of this time to talk about the other thing that Marvel just announced recently, X-Men 97. So for those of you who don't know, in the mid to late 90s, there was an X-Men cartoon that's, you know, just really beloved, called X-Men the Animated Series. It started in 1992, you know. I mean, it aired on Fox Kids, and it was really liked for its animation style and the fact that, you know, it did very mature storylines for kids, you know what I'm saying? And they're bringing the series back on Disney Plus, and they're just calling it X-Men 97. You know, they're continuing a lot of those storylines. Now what I've noticed here about this, the X-Men 97, I guess, Disney Plus show, is that, well, number one, I have no idea if this takes place in the MCU or not. I don't know if they're gonna connect that there. I kinda hope they don't. I kinda hope they leave this as, like, its own continuity, but we'll see, at least for now. But I've noticed, too, like, they've gone from, instead of 2D animation, to 3D. Now, I like how they did it, but a part of me wishes, like, it was, you know, they still kept that 2D animation, but I feel like the art style looks good. I think the original voice cast is back, as well, all of them, which is great. That part's important, you know what I'm saying? Especially the voice actress who played Rogue. Like, no one else can do that voice quite like she can, so that's an important part, too. What else we got here? I don't have as much to say about that one. I love the X-Men animated series from back in the day. I can't wait, I'm happy to see it continue. That's great. Let's see, what else? X-Men 97. You got Deadpool 3. So, basically, those are really, I think, the big ones that Marvel announced recently. What else we got, what else we got? I think I already mentioned the Marvels being on Disney Plus. I'm gonna watch that sometime. I am a little bit behind on Marvel stuff. They released a lot of stuff after Endgame, you know? And I think a lot of people kinda hate on post-Endgame Marvel, but I'm enjoying it so far. I just think, you know, for a while now, people have asked Marvel to do more stand-alone or separate stories that don't all interconnect, and now that they're doing that, people are whining. I don't get it, but hey, I'm enjoying it. That's all I care about. But, yeah, really, those are the big things. I've also heard, speaking of going back to Deadpool 3 for a moment, I've also heard rumors, too, that this movie will connect to, like, it's gonna connect to another Avengers movie, Secret Wars, which, if that's true, that's gonna be big, that's gonna be huge, and we'll break down what that means for our final segment. So you stay right there, don't go nowhere, stay in your chair, I can't think of another word that rhymes, and we'll be right back. Welcome back, everybody. So previously, we were talking about X-Men 97 and the new Deadpool movie coming out, Deadpool and Wolverine. So after re-watching the trailer a little bit more, I had a couple more thoughts. Number one, I noticed that they did not show Wolverine in the trailer except for, like, you see a shadow kind of towards the end, and I gotta say, that's very smart moves, I think, you know, because let's be real, Wolverine is like, we've been waiting for a long time to see Deadpool and Wolverine interact. As a matter of fact, really, Deadpool's like, you know, he's kind of built this up throughout Deadpool 1 and 2, which is all the kind of jokes he makes towards Wolverine, and so, you know, it's gonna be, I think, it's gonna be, it's gonna be like magic just seeing those two cook together, man. Seeing, you know, finally, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds collaborating in character, that's gonna be great. But I do wonder, like, this whole TVA plot. Now, again, after re-watching it, I'm thinking about more what they're gonna do, because for those who don't know, in the Marvel Universe, the TVA is basically, they're like time travel cops. They erase anything that they think is, you know, like, that makes a timeline bad or out of order, you know? And I'm wondering, is Deadpool fighting against them or working for them, you know? Because it seems more like that Deadpool's working for them for this movie trailer. So I do wonder, you know, that's gonna be an interesting case of Deadpool working for the bad guys. Because I think Deadpool in the comics, you know, has kinda made it clear, you know, he's a decent person, but he's still like, you know, for the most part, he'll work for whoever's paying him. But in the movies, they've made it more out to where, you know, again, he's a lot more of an anti-hero, you know, he'll work, you know, like he would consider working for a bad guy, but for the most part, nah, you know, for the most part, he ends up doing what's right. Somehow, someway, he does the right thing, you know? Like, he's always led towards that. And so, I do wonder, if that's where they're going with this, that's gonna be an interesting shakeup, you know? Also, a lot of radar humor, loving to see it. That's gonna be really unique, just watching an MCU movie with a lot of swearing in it. That's gonna be different, man. Different in a good way, of course. But that's really all I can think about for right now. So yeah, Deadpool, Wolverine's gonna be a great movie. X-Men 97, I think that's gonna be a good project as well. I feel like the MCU, like, the more they bring, it's kinda funny, people, I think, are always saying these days, oh, I want some, we, you know, we the people want something new, we want something fresh, you know, we want it now. But I feel like the MCU's gonna get more and more praise for bringing familiar things back. Which, you know, it kinda sucks that, like, the older characters don't always get a chance, but that's, you know, it takes time to get to warm people up to stuff, you know, so. I mean, people have always said, oh, the MCU's on a downfall. I don't, I mean, maybe a minor one, but I think, you know, Deadpool 3 onwards, you're gonna see, you know, more interest in Marvel movies again. These, I think, I hope, you know, so. See y'all later, y'all. This is from the WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina Student Radio Station. Have a nice day.
