So there's that that's what's gonna be going on with me today. Nice Not much, you know, I didn't have to do anything today More like she getting ready for you know, I announced it last week that we're coming back to Cali. So in a lot of getting ready for that type of stuff and then it's been nice, you know, it's exciting, you know getting to come back and You know being back with you guys being miracle, you know, my family and my cousins all that all that good stuff You know, it's exciting and it's just you know, it's coming coming faster than I anticipated. So it's like, oh Yeah, just a few weeks. I'll be back home. So exciting and it's fun and Yeah, I'm just having a good time with being here with with my wife and her family We're all having a good time and enjoying it while we can. So yeah, what have you been up to Adam? Yeah, that's cool. You guys had a good time out there, but we're excited to have you back Yeah, I think you crazy. I mean Just hanging out at home had a day off today. So I was taking advantage of it being lazy I did go and get Jamba Juice. That was like the highlight of my day Got some I don't know if you guys get the bowls over there that that's a bulls if you guys had them before. Oh Yeah, they're pretty good Yeah, they have like this. Um, I can't remember what it was called. There's a good light blue color of the coconut very tropical You know, yeah, they're freezing it out. So I asked him that and they're like, yeah, it's not in the menu anymore We're not gonna be having much longer, but they did still have the ingredients. So they made it for me. That made my day. Oh That's awesome, dude. Yeah Supposedly healthy for you too. So that's why I felt so good about it. I think we're all in our healthy girl era right now I'm We're all losing some weight Me and Jay we all did a healthy girl era Yeah It's called a skinny bitch challenge for a reason guys, come on Yeah, I've been trying to yell fear, you know working out and stuff like that, I know I know all of us kind of been trying To do that, you know summers coming around But what have you guys been listening to as of recently? I know a lot of people dropped this past week Kylie Conan gray a few other people got stuff going on like Doja Cat and stuff So, uh, what'd you guys play on that first listen this week? Yeah, I think I played a little bit of Doja Cat and I think I played a little bit of I don't know Like Doja Cat and stuff so, uh, what'd you guys play on that first listen this This last weekend Adam what you went to listen to? Yeah, I was excited, but Well, it's they dropped an album we actually promoted it on the story just announcing that it was not that night and they liked our Story, so that was pretty cool. I was pretty excited about them Not something I expected but just for them to know we exist. That's pretty cool. Oh, yeah, I was a chillin I was another like story stuff and I was looking through our Instagram and I saw that they liked it I was like, what the fuck so I immediately texted the group chat I was like Adam Adam and then Jay was conspiring with me. He's like, um So you finally you finally saw it and you were like, you're like, oh my god, no way. So yeah, that's that's pretty cool, dude Yeah, you know, yeah, we've got a few artists talk to us or like acknowledge us, you know Our existence and stuff obviously, but it's cool to see like bands that you know, we like listening to and like we've listened to together It's pretty cool to see them respond to us and acknowledge that we exist basically Yeah, it was pretty cool. It was a nice surprise, but um, they came out with their album I can't thank you enough and it's pretty cool. I think we all got a decent listen to it so far very mellow lighter album, nothing too crazy, but it's just really nice to listen to Yeah Nice, but I forget every constant way of going about that foot All the albums are very consistent with getting that same feel so If you hear like their music you kind of get the feeling. Oh, this is Willis. They're Willis very Distinctive sound that they have I know Jay's you'll be you guys listen to it Jay. What was your favorite song from them? My favorite song definitely was clear leak that one was like amazing because I mean I Will say the whole song was like the whole album was super sad like listen to the lyrics and stuff like that. Oh, yeah It was very sad album my other favorites were pretty dough and Better than love those two were actually really good, too but something about clearly just like Caught my attention like all the way through and I was just like man This is a is a good song and I added it to my playlist and everything. I definitely give it like a A recommendation if you guys want to go listen to a song Adam did mention like a while back. I forgot what episode it was but Willis is the one who did who did the song on? Tick tock around the sound I got right So just to kind of give anybody a refresher on like, you know Who they are and like, you know where you probably have heard them before. Yeah, well, this is really good man Um, yeah, like Jay was saying, um, I like this song better than love a lot I don't know. I listen to it the vibe and everything like Adam said, they're very chill cool And like Jay said it was fucking sad, but you know, it's cool to get sad to basically He like we've said before nothing's wrong with listening to sad music but uh If I remember correctly, I was looking at their Instagram the other day I think this was their like first like debut album, right Adam. I'm not too sure. I know they've come out some past stuff I was just sorry. I think it will delay my laptop was like freaking out for a second I was trying to pull up the information for like the album and all that and like the lyrics and all that and my laptop Was not handling it. But yeah, I was looking at their Instagram. I think it was like their First studio album and I was like, oh, that's pretty cool. You know, it's cool to see like them like Get traction already I was like singles and stuff they've had going on and EPS and stuff and then for them to drop this album And to be as high quality as it was for like a first three of them. That's pretty Pretty impressive, you know most bands really can't catch that like Viber That's down and so maybe like their second or third studio album, but I think they did really good with the first of the album You know It sounds good And it seems like they've had a lot of practice with what they want to do and probably had a lot of time to work On this one. So it was cool to hear them and you know kind of sound more professional than other bands Have on the first of the album. Yeah, I can't you're talking about now, but it being the debut album. That is really cool I didn't realize that all this stuff beforehand. It's like EP or like smaller stuff But yeah, then they come out with an album and it'd be this like I thought I had a good amount of traction Just for it being like their full full album. So I think it's pretty cool I'm excited for them and hoping that they come up with more pretty soon because I know a lot of artists take forever But I don't know maybe they'll be excited about how well they're doing right now, but I'm excited about them And music's been really good as of recently, um, I'm not sure how many of you guys watch invincible But um, I think like the second to last episode before the finale a song was put on there by David He's a really good artist. He usually makes sad music, but this one was a little banger, you know, it was uh, it was really good different from what he usually does called feel it and It reminds me a lot of like 2023 like spider-verse vibes with um, I Forget what song it is from there. I'm Lisa. Oh, yeah I Flower something like spider-verse wives like sunflower Mona Lisa Self love all those all those songs from like the previous run of movies and stuff like that It reminded me of those vibes. So I'm like, you know, it's good to have like another superhero like Something with a superhero like have music going on with the summer and it's I think it's gonna be a banger for the summer I've never really listened to David that much except for like his tick-tock stuff But um, I heard this in the show and I was like, oh shit This is this is cool. And I went to go look at who was a singing and I was like, oh shit Okay, so he's doing a bit different stuff now So it's good to see that he's getting into his bag and like being able to reach different stuff locally. I thought it was pretty cool There's actually another song that he has to called sleep well, I definitely recommend that one as well going into the whole Going into like like his like his voice and like how you were saying, it sounds like a spider-verse thing Um, I don't know if anybody else wants to hear this or not and how excited I am for it but he was live-streaming recently and He was watching invincible and someone in the chat actually said oh this song gives me spider-verse vibes like this song it reminds me of miles and Glenn and just pause the show and he looked at the camera and he was like I Can't say anything guys like but oh, oh He's like beyond the spider-verse beyond the spider-verse and he's like I can't say anything more. I can't say shit I don't want to say anything else but just Just stop facing me. All right, and I was like, oh my god No, it's like if he appears on the album and if Metro Boomin comes back and he's not like helping David out, you know Oh my gosh, I'm freak out He's freaking great. I know Metro Boomin works really good with a lot of other artists I know Metro Boomin works really good with a lot of people especially singers like Metro Boomin works really good with rappers But he can do wonderful shit with singers as well. So I'm excited to see what he does Hopefully Metro does come back for this next movie and stuff. I'm excited for it I'm excited season to be on that fucking on that album, you know Metro fucking brought the Avengers together for that last album with a Crossword writers notice. Oh, yeah, it was a banger dude, like Usually I don't listen to movie soundtracks. I think last one I did listen to was was into the spider-verse and the last one before that was um the Black Panther one from Kendrick Lamar and which was fucking amazing and so As far as like movie soundtracks go Metro Boomin is really up to his game considering last time I was really fucking with one was like Kendrick Lamar is like Black Panther or the last one before across spider-verse so cool to see that these movie soundtracks are kind of appealing to the audience more especially with spider-man because spider-man such a I Don't he's such a character that everyone can relate to and like kind of be like, oh, yeah, I love spider-man So it's cool to have like that music kind of come in and be like, oh, yeah You can relate to him and listen to these bangers as well, you know Yeah Yeah, I think it's really nice when they have like a good song to complement the show or whatever like I'm say spider-version movie whatever It kind of makes it nostalgic to that time when you're watching The oh, yeah, say movie or episode and just kind of makes it more than just the song It's part of a bigger part So it makes it a lot nicer to be able to listen to it kind of get a little nostalgic about it later on Yeah, we could we could go Into like some more stuff about that if you know, the listeners would be down to kind of have that maybe we'll do a poll and scram or something because I like the idea of like doing like a Soundtracks in movies that just fit like so well. I mean, there's You can go to think about like I get guardians of the galaxy is literally all three of them you have movies that are like There's this the movie my girl, I don't know if you guys have seen that movie Oh, yeah, that whole movie is has a good soundtrack stand by me has a good soundtrack All those diverse movies have a good soundtrack Some TV shows have great soundtracks think about regular show that you literally use almost every like 80s like 90s rock, you know Exactly. Yeah, so we can we can dive into that kind of stuff, you know, it's not technically musicals But there are soundtracks that really help out the movie and there's some songs on there that just kind of like make you appreciate it Even more I agree with you on that. Um One that I was like, I was like I was like waiting to say it Barbie I dropped last summer and it was a fucking banger, especially with a song I'm just can and it went on to like, you know winning on I forgot what it won, but it won an award Yeah, yeah, I won an award Billy won the Oscar for For for her song for Barbie, I forgot what it's called. I made for her. Yeah, what was it made for I? Know that song was freaking perfect. Did I watch that movie for the first time with your early? Opening night. We went to go watch it. There's like the opening of it all and I was like, you know Let's go. Let's go watch it and we were sitting there watching it and you really was like Oh, no one they're gonna play Billy's song and you know, they played it and we were sitting there and I usually I'm not like fucking Wanda like Watch a movie that brings so much like social justice or politics into it But with this one it was like damn like fuck, you know you're like you don't really think about it as a guy until you see it on screen and you're like Shit this is this is a fucking it's a little bit harder than I expected and with that song playing in the background I was like, yeah, okay I can see why they wanted Billie Eilish to be on this and do this And every time I hear that song I think of Barbie and like how nostalgic it is I can only imagine how nostalgic it is for a woman as well like hearing that song and be like Oh, this is the song that like wasn't Barbie and made me feel this certain type of way So yeah, I think they did a really good job on that movie And as far as like TV show wise goes I was thinking the boys There's really good with their like their soundtracks and stuff like that Whatever they got going on and I can especially with crazy scenes with like Homelander and shit Like it's like it really ups the ante when he's going bat shit crazy and they have a badass song playing in the background Hmm they have I don't know if you guys have seen the umbrella cad me at all. Oh, yeah, I've seen it Yeah, they have some really cool Episodes where they have some like random it's I don't know how to go about it. It's just very Let me start that over I don't know where I'm good But in umbrella cad me they have episodes was they'll like highlight a certain song or I think they did it a couple times I've noticed not caught up yet but uh I kind of just felt like a little section where there's gonna they're gonna play a song and everybody's gonna be dancing It's gonna feel like a little musical almost like like a few minutes throughout that song. It's just really cool It's a um, it's not part of like it feels like you're watching a different show for a little bit It's just something like very immersive. It's in the exciting just a little fun bit part of the show just like yeah I'm like, okay, this is really cool. Like, um, of course the one that they play That's probably my favorite was I'm dancing in the moonlight There's a really cool little thing where they had to the characters dancing together and it was just a really cool Like it wasn't exactly up. It wasn't the original. It was like a different version of it That made a little bit more sentimental to the moment of the story There's a really cool moment like whenever I hear that song like I got to think of that scene There's different parts of the show where I think of different scenes from like I can picture the scene by hearing the song So it's really cool that they're able to do that Yeah, I agree with you on that, um, I saw the trailer recently for Joker 2 coming out And Lady Gaga is obviously going to be in it's going to be heavily like mmm Music's going to be like a like a heavy influence on the film Obviously it's being portrayed kind of as a musical and stuff like that. I'm honestly really excited for it Considering walking Phoenix is you know a great actor as he is and then Lady Gaga has just been like fucking amazing I think she's the last movie she was in Was that a star is born and that movie was like fucking great from what I've heard. I haven't I haven't seen it Yeah, obviously, but it's been great. Like I've heard nothing but good things about it and it's great musically wise as well I think Bradley Cooper was in it But which over to coming out and it being a musical and like heavily influenced by like the music They're gonna be using and stuff like that It just further like shows like how much music can like help a movie out and stuff like that But it was weird. I was in I was looking in Instagram and I was looking at the comments and stuff People were not excited about this movie being a musical if anything, they're quite kind of mean about it Like I all fuck this movie. We're not gonna watch it because it's a musical and I was I'm just like That's weird dude, like you would think since music is such a huge like powerful tool nowadays, you'd want to go watch it But I guess people are just like so caught up in like the Broadway musical stuff They don't want to fucking even pay attention to what's going to be happening in this movie, which is kind of sad Hey here. Okay. Here's the thing about that and I I Get why they're not like that. I'm all for the movie being a musical. I'm so bored, but only because like The Joker is like let's show I'm not not to get like sidetracked, you know, but like the Joker the showman, you know Like he's like a he likes to put on performances He likes to make people wince and cry and laugh and do all that like that's his whole Persona, and he's crazy, you know, and I Don't know if like anybody's like kind of like seeing this part in the trailer. Yes, you guys have watched it already But there's a part where they're beginning to dance and it's like on the rooftop and it immediately Reminds me of Jack Nicholson's scene with Batman and he literally says have you ever danced in the devil? have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight and literally like that that Cinematography already gave me Lala and vibes which is already a mate an amazing movie So if you guys haven't watched you go watch it the soundtrack is beautiful Ryan Gosling's in it Emma Stone is in it It's amazing But that's the thing like even in the comics the TV shows and the cartoons and the movies like the Joker has always been known to put on a show and So that's why I feel like it just fits like I feel like the first movie was his deranged mental Downfall and this is gonna be him like embracing himself in a way And this is gonna be him like embracing himself in a way I feel like that's how it's going to be and then he's like in the trailer He also said I'm not alone finally, so it's gonna be like bringing in Harley as well. So I'm excited for it I'm so hyped. Yeah, same here. I think it's gonna be Gonna be really different than like obviously the first one was Which was amazing hard to believe that movie came out almost like six years ago now, so it's like Getting old Yeah, it's been six years and like this reminds you guys endgame was about like six years ago now as well So that's just showing how old we are man But I'm excited for everything going on going back to the whole like like talking about Billy Eilish we did see that last episode we were talking about how She put everybody on her close friends page to make me promote an album and So it's out now. I mean not in the album, but like it's out like the news is out. She is releasing an album and There was actually some drama that Marlene was telling me about so shout out to my fiance for filling me in on this information But she was telling me that Rolling Stone was the one who actually released the title name of the album before Billy even announced. Oh, yeah Billy was pissed so I was like, oh shit like this is that's not good. You know, she I mean all over everywhere She was like fuck Rolling Stone, you know, like I can't believe they do that. You know, this is supposed to be like a treat for the fans They're not supposed to know it's supposed to be all this big surprise, you know, so I don't blame her I mean Rolling Stone has made those kind of Top top 50 like artists top 50 this and that and they're so wrong like so I'm not Yeah, there that was pretty messed up I saw that All over Instagram. I was like what the hell like why would they do that? You know, I've never been a fan of Rolling Stone though Either they they're really just hypocritical about everything They don't necessarily like anything unless it's by like a white artist And I'm just being honest here I think the only white artists that they don't like is Eminem because he doesn't stick with the status quo Which is why I don't like Eminem. I don't know why I don't like Eminem But I don't fuck with them at all, yeah, but I am really excited for the album I mean when because she posted the little teaser video for and she was talking about it in her Instagram But in the video you can hear the start of a song brewing and man It sounds good the production and like the instrumentals to it already is like like I want more like I'm Feening for more like I'm I'm feening for more like I'm I'm feening for more Honestly, it sounds like its own thing like that's why I'm excited for it good. Yeah, it's cool The album rollout reminds me a lot of Travis Scott's utopia I in the ways that of how much hype it has created I mean, it's been a minute since he's dropped an album obviously and same with Travis Scott before he had dropped utopia But the rollout is just very I don't know. I remember people were like trying to analyze when utopia were dropping by like looking at certain dates that Travis Scott had like But and put on his story and stuff like that and it's like it's cool. You know, these these rollouts Really hop out with artists and stuff like that But he have artists like Eminem who doesn't even need a rollout He just drops it and the fucking the hype for the album is just there to put in seconds So either you do it roll out or not. I think it's I think rollouts are just fun for the fans. Honestly Yeah, it's nice to have something to look forward to but I mean when you drop something just out of nowhere and unexpected that also Gives a huge amount of traction because it's instant like some person finds it and it's like everywhere all of a sudden So they each have their perks, but I mean I'd rather know ahead of time I'd like to I like testing to look forward to to know that I have something that's gonna be coming out soon That's gonna be new and exciting Yeah, speaking of people dropping stuff out of nowhere J Cole man JJ Jermaine fucking cold dude After we've recorded Till we recorded our episode last Thursday. Okay, dude and And it was good, you know my delete later it was fantastic I thought I was you know, really good and At the end of his little project that he has I'm not sure I can call it. We're being honest like You know, it's when you when you did somebody the whole rap game goes crazy, especially when you did somebody as big as Cole injury So, I mean marketing wise Kendrick knew what he was doing to get himself, you know, kind of more involved within the rap game again Make a diss and that's exactly what he did and he made a fucking good one Like he said one person changed the game and it fucking did they could like look how crazy everybody was going over it so I was like, okay, okay, so I was excited cuz like you don't see these rap battles often, especially with like The like as big as the big three are like those big three names But to see Cole kind of just step down and crumble. Let's talk about it I listened to a couple songs and I absolutely fell in love with the sound it's What what Adam would you say earlier about the like? about Yeah, I don't listen to whatever you recommended to me now, but he has a really cool sound I said that he sounded like if you brought in journey today yeah, like my like you're very modern, but it has that like I Know I'm gonna get shit from Adele if I'm wrong about this, but it has that 80s rock flair to it Like like David Bowie like David Bowie like Queen like journey Like Adam said and it's just like a combination of all of it Man those songs were so good my favorite one on the album Adela Because I know you're gonna be fucking listen to this while you're doing at home like a some shit My favorite song on the album, oh my god My favorite song in the album with Ali Rose that one was amazing I haven't listened to boys and girls killing me and winning the last three songs, but I did like those a lot I didn't love forever with me. My least favorite one. My least favorite one was the bourgeois ease because it was like Kind of repetitive and it was just like song about I want to be rich, you know So yeah, I wasn't like a big fan of it, but those songs specifically Ali Rose and forever with me Beautiful. I loved the instrumentals. I love his voice so much Especially on forever with me Um When he's when he's when he basically like scream sings like I ain't sorry. I was like, oh my god This is hitting so hard. Like it's so good. It's so good I highly recommend the album to anybody who hasn't listened to Conan Gray before I'm not sure about his other songs I feel like I've heard a couple Natalie Nadella have played a couple on the cloud with me and I don't remember the sounds. I don't know if they're all different album sounds So kind of like how Arctic monkey is what Arctic monkeys is They're another group of people I definitely want to review as well I'll probably bring them up like next episode or something like that, but definitely give Conan Gray listen I loved found heaven so much. So I thought that was really cool You're at least brother Leo fucking loves Conan Gray like one of his like I'd say he's like number one fan like dude Goes crazy whenever he hears them that he calls him his man and everything I think I think it's cool to see like How cool his fan base is so yeah I think Conan Gray's definitely make it his way making his moves up into the top and it's cool to see it Especially he's such a young artist, you know, so that's cool It reminds me a lot of the way Olivia Rodrigo has come up and I know they're friends, too So excited to see what those two are gonna do.
