North of Naperville just lifelong sports participant coach and Yes, and For that topic. I have a couple questions to ask you the first question being What made sports culture in America popular? Okay, you know, I'm sure that's a debatable a Debatable topic but for me It seems like when I'm teaching the roaring 20s in my u.s. History class, it seems like when we came back from World War one in 1918 it just seems like we have thousands of new men coming back to our country, it seems like we were thirsting for a little bit of recreation a little bit of fun and You know people gave that to us people like Babe Ruth people like the great Red Grange right here from Wheaton, Illinois the great Negro Baseball League pioneer Ruth Foster gave us a lot of Spectator sports and the things to watch things to like ways to to get away from the hum from The world that we were in the pressures of work. So seems like it all started that Yes Next question is why is the sports culture in America still relevant today? We're great spectators in the United States, and I'm sure other countries can can say they are too But we Americans love to be entertained. We love to go to the theater. We love to to laugh at comedians We love to go to concerts. We love to go to ballgames Hockey games soccer baseball football basketball, you name it. It's become a big part of what makes us Americans We love to watch people perform. It's fun. It's a release. It's it's an escape and It's just something that's become a part of the fiber of our of our country and we'll always be I think Yeah, yeah, I totally agree. And I think that you know, you answer the question obviously I asked you but you know My in my opinion, you know why sports sports culture in America is still relevant is just because you know We have all these, you know Inspirational players, you know, like, you know, like Patrick Mahomes or Steph Curry, you know, or you know it doesn't have to necessarily be them either to be LeBron James or you know, whoever you kind of desire to and You know being even a participant of the sport, you know, whatever sport that is you have the ability to You know be a part of those things and it's just it's kind of exciting right with along with watching it as well So, thank you dad for taking time out of your busy schedule to discuss the growth of sports culture throughout America Today we talked about you know, the brief history of how the popularity of sports has seismically, you know Lifted and has strongly influenced a variety of viewers and participants such as my dad and myself, too and others to this day and You know starting with the likes of Babe Ruth in the 1920s and as well as Red Grange I also had my dad talk about his history of witnessing and participate in sports and how it's grown to new heights and how the likes of like I mentioned before Patrick Mahomes or Stephen Curry or even Tom Brady for that matter have definitely lifted that echelon of you know sports and how it's become kind of the center of American culture, so thank you there dad
