Demelza and the Specter Detectors, written by Holly Rivers, is an amazing book about a girl named Demelza who can summon ghosts. Her grandmother gets kidnapped, and someone wants her to perform a dangerous ritual to bring someone back to life. Demelza suspects Miss Carnadore, but it turns out she's not the culprit. The book is suspenseful and exciting, with a thrilling fight scene on pages 215-218. Holly Rivers, the author, grew up acting and now writes stories while also teaching drama and crafts to children.
