The podcast episode discusses two spooky stories: Bloody Mary and shadow figures. Bloody Mary is a ghost that can be summoned by saying her name in front of a mirror. The narrator narrowly escapes summoning her. The second story is about shadow figures, which are believed to be supernatural entities. Different theories exist about their origins, including scientific explanations and night terrors. The podcast concludes with a mention of the sources used and the music credits.
Hi, my name is Kayvan, and I'm Bad Bobby, and the name of this podcast, you guessed it, is getting stories from around the world. So, today we're going to be talking about Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary has been thought to be the ghost of Queen Mary or some other person associated with the spirit. Bloody Mary has turned into a sleepover joke. Of course, young kids summoning demons at midnight. Totally safe. Bloody Mary can be summoned using these steps.
Number one, go into a bathroom. Number two, turn off all the lights. Number three, stand in front of the mirror and say Bloody Mary 30 times in a row. If you don't get out of the way once you see her, she'll kill you. And so, one rainy, dreary sleepover night, the dare came around to me. Heart pounding, I stepped into the bathroom. I turned off the lights. Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary. I ran. I don't know if I could ever do that again.
I ran. I didn't see it, but I got out of the way. And that is how I narrowly escaped death. And now it's time for a little levity. Get away, Bobby. Have you always wanted to have your parrot have glasses, but you never thought their glasses were stylish enough? Well, look no further for hairy parrot glasses. Your parrot can have glasses that are hairy. It's not the same as their fur. Wait, what? And like I said earlier, let's get into it indeed.
Is a figure named a shadow person. So this is not just a shadow person, the person isn't even there. This could have been, I believe it's from a living thing that could have died there. And it could be a pet, a person, it could be anything. Now, I've seen this one in the mirror just across from my room. Really close to my room. And so I always kind of got an edge about it. Now, a lot of spots in my house have mirrors in them, which is even worse.
So what I realized from Reddit, this could be a normal type shadow figure. Sometimes they have red eyes, but not in my case. So usually I'm okay with disguise. But this time, when I took off my sleep mask last night, I saw him. He was in the mirror right next to my bed. This is always something I was scared of. But ever since I felt like I was talking about it more, the more I felt like he was coming closer and closer and closer.
And I'm not the only person who's been having this. People for centuries have been dealing with this. And I read from Wikilove's folklore that religions and legends and belief systems describe supernatural entries such as shades of the underworld and various shadowy creatures. So we don't know if these are good or bad or not. But we do know what they are. But there's many different things, many different theories. According to HorrorRoom.com, explanations for what the shadow figures are actually differs depending on where you look.
But from a scientific perspective, when we see the figures, it's simply our minds filling in the blank spaces and creating something. Human-like, from shapes that we can see. Other explanations come from night terrors. Much of the folklore surrounding the shadow men centuries are stories of people walking up after feeling pressure on their chest, a heaviness in the air, a deep fear. When they awaken, the fear continues and they feel completely unable to move and feel paralyzed.
And that's all for this week. We hope to see you next week on Scared Stories from Around the World. Remember, our sources are Wikilove's folklore and HorrorRoom.
