Dear listener, I am your speaker and health educator, Kengacha Marcellus Agendia, a medical laboratory scientist and a public health professional. Dear listener, this evening we have prepared some very important healthy tips for you and your loved ones and we believe that if you listen to us very attentively and put these healthy tips into practice, you will go a long way to enjoy good health and live a very healthy lifestyle. Dear listener, here are the 10 tips that we have prepared for you. Tip number one, prevention is better than cure. Tip number two, put God first, always. Put tip number three, seek expert help. Tip number four, talk to your doctor. Tip number five, listen to your doctor. Tip number six, drink, drink and drink. Not alcohol, but water. Tip number seven, stop the refined sugars and food. Tip number eight, avoid foods cooked at high temperatures. Tip number nine, eat the colored and natural foods. Tip number 10, fast and exercise regularly. Dear listener, we bring the first point, the first healthy tip to you and here we are talking about prevention is better than cure. And here, dear listener, we advise that you always take important measures to prevent diseases and infections at your individual level, but also at the family and community level. Don't wait until you are infected because you might not even find a cure. Yes, of course, because we know, dear listener, that many diseases in the world today that do not have a cure. And if you are careless about prevention and you get infected or you contract any of these diseases, then you will have to leave yourself, your loved ones, and maybe some of your close friends on a very heavy burden. And dear listener, it's not only all about burden taking care of you, but we are also talking here about the financial burden in a very challenging economy. Therefore, dear listener, in all you do in life, always ask yourself this simple question, is this healthy? You are going to bed and you don't want to use a mosquito net, ask yourself, is sleeping without a mosquito net healthy? You have food to eat and ask yourself, is this food healthy? These are some of the questions, dear listener, that we should ask ourselves before engaging in whatever activity that is before us. Point number two, dear listener, we say put God first always. And of course, God has repeatedly told us that without Him we can do nothing. And you can read it in the Gospel of John, chapter 15, verse 5, ask Him always for direction either to prevent diseases or to heal yourself or your loved ones from diseases. Because without Him, we can do nothing. Dear listener, this is very important also because there are things that God can do to you directly and there are some other things that He can only direct you to people that He has prepared to handle your problem. And this could be health professionals, this could be medical doctors, and we must put God first so that He heals us or He gives us this direction. Therefore, dear listener, we invite you at this juncture to search, read our very important video on YouTube and watch and listen to it. It is titled, Prayer of Faith, The Solution to All Health Problems. Just put up this title and you will be redirected to the video. Dear listener, tip number three, seek expert help. And as we have said before, dear listener, sometimes, most often, when we talk to God about our problems, He will redirect us to those that are competent to handle our health problems. And these are no other persons than medical doctors and health professionals. Therefore, when we pray to God, when we put up our problem to God for some time and we are not getting a solution, just listen very attentively to Him, He might just be directing you to somewhere. And dear listener, it is very important that you take the step to move as directed, as God might just be referring you to somewhere, to a doctor, to a health facility. Tip number four, dear listener, talk to your doctor. And here, dear listener, we want to reiterate that all that we do is to receive information from you, the patient, and formulate, use that information to formulate the treatment that you need. It is always the case that your treatment, the medication, what we need to formulate your medication is actually found in what you have, in the knowledge you have about your disease. And this is a very common scenario as we understand that to defeat any enemy, we need good information about that enemy. Therefore, you are in the best position to tell us, to give us vital information about the enemy that is the germ that is in you, causing you your disease. Therefore, dear listener, once before a doctor, tell him everything about your illness and tell him all you have read and heard about that illness for advice. Tip number five, dear listener, we say listen to your doctor, and we say listen, listen, and listen to what your doctor is telling you. It is very important, there is power in information. And after listening to your speech, your doctor has formulated maybe your treatment in the form of advice, and he is telling you what to do to get healed. And it is very, very unfortunate, dear listener, that because of maybe the level of education that some of us do have, once before a doctor, we prove to know everything. And this is a very big limitation. We do advise that when we are in front of our doctor, we should play low, we should play humble, and we should play some sort of ignorance to be able to listen to him very well and put whatever thing that he is saying to us into practice. Dear listener, tip number six, we say drink, drink, and drink. Not alcohol, but water. We say drink water into your body and drink alcohol out of your body. Dear listener, it is very important that as a human being, you drink at least two liters of potable water on a daily basis. Not just at once, within maybe 30 minutes, 60 minutes, but it's important that whatever quantity that you have to drink, we are advising here that you drink at least two liters of water, that these two liters should be spread throughout the day. Because if you don't do, if you drink this quantity at once, the next 30 minutes, you will urinate everything out and nothing will be left within you to do the work that it is supposed to do. Dear listener, water is a very important micronutrient to our bodies and it is also important for you to understand that your entire body is made up of at least 70% of water. Can you imagine, dear listener? And why is it so? Well, thousands of chemical reactions, including digestion, repairs, fight against diseases, and you can name the rest, actually happen in our bodies every day. And without water, this will never be possible. Dear listener, tip number seven, stop the refined sugars and refined foods. It is important that you understand that artificial or refined sugars are your health's worst enemies. All refined and fast foods contain either refined sugars or additives that are very unfriendly and detrimental to your health. And some of these refined foods include sugars itself, juice, biscuits, and all refined sugars related foods. It is also important, dear listener, for you to understand that foods found in fast food shops or like supermarkets often contain additives that increase their shelf life and most of these additives are very, very cancerous and contain inflammatory agents that cause chronic diseases. Dear listener, the eighth point here, we talk about avoiding foods cooked at high temperature. Dear listener, foods cooked at high temperature, that is frying, browning, grilling, and roasting, actually produce health unfriendly compounds that we call advanced glycation end products, which are the main causes of oxidative stress and chronic inflammation. Dear listener, a very common thing to all infections that we know is inflammation. And most of the pain, all the pains that we do have, especially chronic pains, are as a result of inflammation. And so when we consume food cooked at high temperature, we only aggravate these diseases because we keep accumulating these inflammatory compounds within our bodies. Dear listener, while frying dries off the abundance of useful water in natural foods. High temperature cooking also destroys vital micronutrients from the food. And it is very important that you know this, my dear listener. Point or tip number nine, dear listener, we advise to eat the colored and natural foods. It is important to know, dear listener, that natural brightly colored foods like the vegetables and fruits contain a wide variety of highly potent and biological active antioxidants. And these oxidants are molecules or compounds that are very active in the body. That are very active micronutrients against inflammation. Inflammation is the origin of most, if not all, our diseases and pains, as I have said before. And so we must avoid, while we avoid inflammatory causing compounds within our bodies, we have to also consume this natural colored food so that the compound, the antioxidants that we produce will help combat this inflammation and make us stay healthy. Dear listener, grains and legumes are whole foods with lots of fibers which also help us in digestion. Dear listener, the last but not the least, the third tip is fast and exercise. Of course, dear listener, eating and eating and eating should not be all we know as we eat. We have to also look for means to take off toxins, the accumulated toxins stocked in our cells and tissues out of our bodies. And fasting is a very important activity or a very important practice that can help us do this. And dear listener, surprisingly, it is important that we know that fasting is the medicine that your doctor is not telling you about, is not talking to you about. And fasting is that very common thing amongst all religions. Research tells us the extent to which fasting is important. Fasting and exercise cleans your body and takes off the excess toxins stocked in your cells and tissues, giving your body more space to carry out the thousands of metabolic activities that are important to your health. Of course, when we only eat and we don't look for means to utilize the stored food or take out of our bodies the toxins, we end up creating traffic within our cells and this is a big problem for our health.
