Who's the girl named? Uh, I'm not sure. Name. More name. I don't know. Jennifer. Well, you don't even have to give us a name. Just, um, what position does she play? On a basketball team? Yes. She doesn't play basketball. Oh, shit. She's a cheerleader. What? Yes, she plays a sport. Wait, cheerleading is a sport? Cheerleading is not cheerleading. It's not cheerleading. Okay. Not cheerleading. Yeah. So, can we narrow it down to softball? Good if you want. So, it is softball. Maybe. So, we got... On it. Come on. Softball. We need you on this. Yeah, sure. Sure. Softball. I don't know. I'll tell you. It is softball? Softball. Okay. Well, we got it narrowed down. So, infield or outfield? I'm not telling you that. Okay. I already narrowed it down pretty much for you. All right. Softball is all we're getting. All right. Got to be same class. Got to be, right? Come on. Get on it. Same class? I'm just assuming. I don't know. Maybe he likes them younger. Younger? Not as young as you, Mike. So, we're... We can take out the even younger part. Yeah. She could be a junior. Could be a junior. I'd say that's fair. He said it's fair. All right. We have Kimber on the investigation. So, we can move on with the next segment. We can actually... We'll circle back. Welcome, everyone, to the Honest Truth Podcast. Today is a special episode, episode three. I got both my brothers here. Today, we are going to be talking about the AFC and NFC matchups for this weekend. And later on, possibly a little bit more extra sports talk. But other than that, we're going to try and get into it, dive deep into these matchups, and see what our takes lead us to, have a possible scenario, question later on. And this is episode three of The Honest Truth. Are you ready? All right. So, we're going to dive into this AFC-NFC matchups. First off, on the docket, we got a question. I don't know who wants to start off. I think I'll probably just go last. Either Nate or Steve, you guys can start off. The first question I've got is, who do you believe is in the best spot to win it all right now? All right. Well, we're down to the final four. This is probably the best weekend we're ever going to witness football for the rest of the year. I don't think the Super Bowl is going to be as good this weekend. To answer your question, I think the Bengals are in the best position. They're probably the hottest team in football right now, if I have to say. They have the best quarterback in the NFL currently. I'm talking about power ranking. They also have a very confident defense who happen to figure out make the best adjustment in the second half because they seem to do that in the last two years. Not only do they make adjustments, but they also stop the Bills to 10 points on the road. The Bills are not only one of the best, they're top five. I would have to look up top five offense in the NFL. They've got a lot going on for them. I don't think anybody is going to be stopping Burrow anytime soon. The only thing that's going to be stopping him is his offensive line. Depending on how that goes this Sunday, if the offensive line give up nine stacks like they did a year ago, I don't think he can be able to overcome that like he did a year ago and be able to make it to the Super Bowl. The offensive line needs to step it up and I'm riding the Burrow train all the way to the Super Bowl win. That's the thing with the Bengals is the big question mark about the O-line and how they will play because they end up hurting them in last year's Super Bowl against Aaron Donald. The team that I think is in the best spot right now is the Eagles because if you look at their roster, there's no weakness anywhere on that team. I mean, I can't bring up any weakness. Do you guys know the Eagles' weakness? What's the Eagles' weakness? At this point, everyone's kind of healed up for the most part. Yeah. They got everyone back. They dominated the Giants last week and I think Jalen Hurts, I mean, he's done it before. He can play at an elite level and with these other teams like the Chiefs, it's difficult with Mahomes' injury and they're so reliant on him and the big question mark for the 49ers is Brock Purdy and if he can continue to step up his play every single week, this is a true challenge for him but as far as the Eagles go, I don't see them stopping anytime soon. They're just going to keep it rolling. They're a good team. Are they the best team? I'm not sure but they're the most complete team. I would, if I had to counter-argue against that, it would be that the Eagles haven't really played anybody in the last few weeks although it showed that they dominated the Giants but did the Giants even deserve to be in the playoffs? Probably not. They won the game. They beat the Vikings. They did. The Vikings also have the worst defense in the NFL. They still somehow win 11-0 in one score game. Right. If we had to redo this season all over again, that is never going to be perfect ever. Nine out of ten times it's never going to be perfect. If we had to go back to the mean, it would be 5-6. They would be in those games. That would total up their overall score about 9-8, 8-9. Put them right outside the playoff scenario. That's one of the things that I don't know if the Eagles really can put themselves in the best spot right now. They're definitely playing like they're the best team in the world for sure. I feel like them playing the Giants is kind of being overshadowed by how bad the Giants really are. Because the last few weeks Jalen Hurd hasn't really looked the greatest. He finally did last week. He's healthy now. He's like 80%. Another week of getting ready, he might be 95-90. Who knows. Maybe you might be 90-95 but you're not going to be 100% healthy. Is anyone at this time of the year though? Nobody is. I wouldn't be surprised if Jalen has to get surgery in the offseason. He's definitely not healthy. 100% healthy. He's playing through a lot of pain right now. It's just a matter of adrenaline and keeping him protected. The Eagles just so happen to have one of the best O-line in the NFL. They got that going for them. If he goes through this game clean, then he's got another week, two weeks. Yeah, he's got two weeks. I think you guys bring up some good arguments there. Good points. I personally, I don't really know who it's a good question because you got four of the best teams as of right now. Clearly because they've all won their respective games and got to this point. They got the four best teams in the league. Each are individually They each have their individual game that they excel at. With the 49ers, it's that they have a system quarterback that can distribute the ball to their playmakers, to their star players. They have guys on the other side of the ball, the defensive side, that can be game wreckers and game stoppers that can make the offense not be able to run the ball or throw the ball against the 49ers. Then you also have the Eagles who are just all around a really good team. They got that Philly mentality where they're not going to lay down and let somebody stomp all over them. They're going to try and give it their all every single minute of every single game. But that offensive game is going to be pretty interesting to watch. I do agree with Stephen, which Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, they are probably the hottest team. The thing that they have going for them is that they've been to the Super Bowl. They were there last year, so they know what it is. They know what it takes to get there. They have a familiar road. They beat the Chiefs last year at the Chiefs, so they know what that's like. However, will that get to their heads? It could. Possibly. You never know. They just have to play a cool, calm game. As for the Chiefs, all you have to say is that they have Patrick Mahomes. He can be a game changer no matter if he's hurt or if he's not. It depends on how well he's going to be able to move in that pocket. If he can't move well, then that will change the game. I'd probably have to say that the Haas team is the Eagles. They did their job last week in handling a very bad team that made it so far. It's just a matter of time to where either Jalen Hurts or Brock Purdy is going to have a game. It has to show up. It's the second to last game of the year. It's going to have to show up. You have to play your best football right now. Here's a fun stat that I was able to pull together for all of us. The main goals with Joe Burrow against the Chiefs, Mahomes, the main goals are 3-0. Are they going to be able to find another win to go 4-0? Or is Andy Reid going to be able to figure out the adjustment to be able to finally beat Cincinnati Bengals? That's the real question we have. I honestly don't know. I think the Bengals might be one of those teams that Andy Reid just can't figure out. Who knows? We'll see on Sunday. That is one of the stats I have for that game. For the other game, the 49ers versus the Eagles, rookie quarterbacks are 0-4 in the last four games, obviously. In the conference final. The last quarterback to reach the final was Mark Shams. We all know what happened to him. The infamous fumble, I don't even think it was in the conference final, but you can't shake that off. I thought that was in the conference final. No, I don't think it was. I don't know, I forget. Does any quarterback, rookie quarterback have the same amount of talent on their roster as Brock Perdue, though? I would argue the Jets know the previous one was the Steelers with Ross Benberger. I would say they probably had a good they definitely did have a solid defense, but I'm not so sure about their offense. They may have had Holmes, I don't even know his name, or Hines. They had Hines, and he's a Hall of Famer. And Pettis, or no, Jerome, who's the bowling ball in the backfield for the Steelers. Yeah, I think so. So that was a solid team all around. I mean, just based on history, rookies are never going to get it done. Are you going to be able to overcome that? I don't know. The other interesting stuff that came up with the rookies out of the four games, there have only been four touchdowns and nine interceptions. The one thing that Purdy does have going for him is he hasn't thrown an interception this postseason so far. I would also argue that he hasn't played the cleanest game, but it doesn't show up in the stats. So that's one thing we got going for them. I think this weekend will be definitely the better games to watch. Two very good games to watch. Let's just go on to the next question here. So the next question I have for you guys is we talked matchups kind of, but we kind of just asked who was the hottest team. What would the matchup you would most like to see in the Super Bowl? What matchup would you like to see in the Super Bowl? Matchup? What my wallet is telling me is the 49ers and the Chiefs. That's what my wallet is telling me. So I'm going to be fighting hard to hedge against those two opponents because I'm looking at maybe $500 total if both of those teams make it. So it's a little biased for me. I know this is the Honest podcast. So that's what I got going. I got to go with Bengals and 49ers. That's the matchup you want to see? Yeah, I want to see. You know, Gilboro, he's just the most exciting player in football right now, I feel like. The things that he says off the field, his whole career is his Super Bowl window. And I think the Bengals are just a fun team. They're a really good team. And if they can go against the 49ers who have the ultimate underdog, Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy against that elite defense, those elite receivers and that passing game against that elite defense will be something to watch. And to see Brock Purdy, if he's Mr. Irrelevant and somehow manages to win the Super Bowl, that would probably be one of the craziest things to happen in sports. That would be, by far, the greatest story ever. That's a 30-for-30 that will one day be a thing. There's got to be a 30-for-30 already happening. I mean, the 49ers had two quarterbacks that fell off the mat. Well, not off the mat. Yeah, got hurt. Yeah, they fell off the table. They can't have... They didn't drink enough milk because they have brittle bodies. Especially Jimmy G. Yeah, drink that milk. If they can drink enough milk, I don't think we would ever see Brock Purdy in this position. Honestly, the 49ers are probably lucky that they both got hurt. I don't think Jimmy G is taking this team all the way as far as right now. That's a hot take for me. I think that the matchup I would like to see is I'd probably go with Nate and how the 49ers and the Bengals that would probably be... create bigger storylines because you can't not root for a guy like Mr. Irrelevant and see him do well and go far and then compete against the swaggiest guy on the other side. The guy that has everything going for him. He's got the best demeanor on and off the field. Smoking cigars in the locker room after postgame. Joe Burrow. Burrow meant swag. Joe Burrow, man. Joe Shiesty is him. Joe Shiesty is part of the organization of quarterbacks to lead this league. We're gone with the age of Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Philip Rivers. Who? Who? Who? Who? Who? I think we can all come to a consensus that the Bengals might be our favorite team outside of the Bears. I don't know about you guys, but... Joe Burrow, man. Joe Burrow is something else. Yeah. He also has a great story because back in college, he was at Ohio State, wasn't able to get a certain job, had to transfer out, go to LSU, created the greatest offense of all time in college. Greatest college football season of all time. Get drafted to the worst franchise at the time. And you can see why, because he got broken in half the first season, was able to rehab and show the offense line, hey, don't do this shit again, and then I'm going to take you to promised land. Sure enough, in the same season, took him to promised land and only if the running back could I don't know, maybe an inch, he would save that ball and get a first down, and we could probably be saying they won the Super Bowl last year, but we'll never know. Yeah, Joe Burrow is special. He's special. It's also funny seeing everyone trying to compare all these older quarterbacks to all these young talent coming in. They're trying to compare Joe Burrow to Tom Brady. You can't really compare them yet. You don't know how their careers will pan out or who's who. They're all kind of their own guys right now. They're very talented. You got these analysts trying to come up with a comp. Do we really need to come up with a comp for Joe Burrow? Can Joe Burrow just be his own guy? I don't think we're ever going to see anybody like him. Same with Mahomes. Can we just not come up with a comp for him? He's his own guy. We have to compare them to the old quarterbacks we had in the league. Why? Both of them might be the greatest quarterbacks of all time. We're just witnessing them both in the present right now that we haven't been able to finish their career. Obviously, we've seen the other quarterbacks finish their career. We're kind of biased towards them being the best quarterback of all time. I think by the end of both of their careers, Mahomes and Burrow might be the greatest. Obviously, we'll have to talk about that another day. Who's the girl? We want a name. Give us a name. Is Kimber trying? Kimber is our executive producer. She is narrowing it down to a few names. We got Sarah. I'm sorry. My friend called me because he has no riz. Are you talking about yourself? Because you got denied? No. He literally just called me because he got denied bad. Nice. Yeah. He was at the game with me. Oh, man. I could tell. It was really bad. Cool, dude. It's a different situation. We're going to get into our next topic. We got to finish this segment that I did the first recording. We are down to what, Kimber? No. We're not doing this on the podcast. He doesn't have the riz. I don't have the riz. I have no riz with anyone. No riz. No riz, apparently. You're just copying out. Nate, come on now. We just want to know. Yeah. We just want to know. We're off topic here. Back to topic. Hopefully, no one from my school sees this. Shout out. I have the control over here. Not you. All right? Shots fired. I'm tired. I think we're on our third topic, thanks to the sponsor of this video. I wish. Kimber, get on our sponsors for the video. You hear that, Kimber? She's going to get sponsors. Come on. All right. I guess where we left off, we were talking about the matchups. Who we would like to see versus now, who do you think is actually going to be in the Super Bowl? I guess this ties into the next question. You can just go ahead and say who... Who do you think is winning the AFC and NFC games and why? Give me some reasoning behind who's actually be in this. Who am I going to see? Like I said earlier, the hottest team, the Bengals versus the Eagles. Yes. Same here. It's not the matchup I want to see, but it's probably the matchup that we'll eventually see. I think it's a good matchup. You think so? Yeah. Fun teams. Nothing against them. Shout out Eagles. Yavi, Eagles fan. Yavi's an Eagles fan? Yeah, he told me to shout him out. So he's a Bengals fan? No, he's been an Eagles fan for a while. Tell me... He's one of those weird Eagles fans like Jacob. Okay, so who's on the 2005 team? Does he know? We weren't born yet, dude. Yeah, we were just born. Yeah, I'm sorry. I can't trust him. Got some 05 babies up in here, dude. Yeah, I know. But I mean, I don't think the Eagles are even that interesting. Honestly, they would probably just run the ball the whole game. That's the problem. I don't want to see that. I want to see some trick plays. Run game in the playoffs in order to get so far. You have to be able to control the ball in the line of scrimmage. And that is something that the Eagles can do. And probably will end up doing against the 49ers. Right. I mean, the 49ers can run the ball too. And they can also pass the ball. They're so creative. I think... I think you're on Jalen Hurts right now and A.J. Brown and Devontae Smith. I think you're really sleeping on their talent. Again, they played the Giants. There's not a whole lot. The whole season, they were throwing the ball deep. They were one of the best deep passing teams in the league. That's the other thing. They played... All of their opponents combined were sub 500. It's not a very strong case. So, is that going to hurt them this game? Probably, because the 49ers isn't a walkover team. Okay. So why do you got the Bengals in as well? What do you mean? Why do you got the Bengals in? Just because they're the hottest team in the NFL right now. I honestly don't think anybody can stop Burrow. I think it would be a different outcome if Mahomes was 100%. I just don't think he'll be able to scramble as well as he used to with that bad angle. I hate that he was hurt last game. I wish we would be able to see 100% Mahomes, 100% Burrow going at it against each other. I think that would be an all-time classic game right there. Just going back and forth, scoring points like no other. I don't even think there's going to be a whole lot of defense honestly. Versus the NFC game, it's going to be probably sub 40 points. It's going to be the boringest game ever. Almost like the Cowboys versus the 49ers. Except I think it's going to be a little bit more, there's going to be more touchdowns in this game. It's going to be a toss-up basically for me on the NFC. AFC, it's going to be Bengals all the way. A little bit of real football knowledge on the game knowledge on why the Bengals are going to win. The Bengals play a lot of man coverage which allows them to send more blitzes. In order to beat man coverage, you need to have good wide receivers to beat man coverage that can get open. The Chiefs don't have that anymore really. It's hard to scheme for guys to get open. Mike Hilton on the Bengals is really good because he's able to make those open field tackles that you might get quick on man coverage. Mahomes, against man coverage you're able to scramble and that leaves scrambling open and you're able to get a ton of rushing yards just from scrambling. If he can't do that, that limits their offense completely. The Bengals are able to play up higher at the line of scrimmage. It's hard to throw it deep when you don't have a guy that can scramble or an outside threat that can go deep. It puts a lot of pressure on Travis Kelsey. I just don't think that if Mahomes isn't 100%. I like that. It's definitely going to be tough to see if Mahomes isn't 100%. Like you said, I just don't think this game is going to be competitive if he's not. The Bengals offense is really high powered. Even though they are dealing with backups on the line they control the line of scrimmage for the most part against the Bills. The only question with that is the Bills really didn't have a Chris Jones or Frank Clark. I feel like there are two premier defensive pass rushers on the Chiefs line and they will have to deal with that. It will be interesting to see. A fun note on that topic, you mentioned that the Bengals control the line of scrimmage over the past Sunday. I have heard this a little bit by the other day or earlier today about how Tom Brady loved playing in the snow because he knew that the defensive line was not going to be able to dig in deep because it's slippery. The corner also is not going to be able to get a whole lot of traction because it's going to be slippery for them to be able to make a cut wherever the wide receiver is going to go. It's a guessing game for them. They're skilled as well. At the NFL level, on the snow it's basically a guessing game. We're not going to see any snow this weekend in Arrowhead. I really think it's going to balance out as far as the offensive line. I don't think they're going to be as strong as they were last weekend. It might be a different ballgame for them. You can still make the argument because grass and turf act very similar in essence where you hear all the time players can dig in better on turf because it's not moving out from underneath you. You know it's there. As for grass, you do still have to be careful with your footing and whatnot. Arrowhead is natural grass. Even with cold conditions, because it should still be cold, the ground isn't going to be exactly the permissible surface that you want it to be. It should be solid as far as me growing up playing on cold weather surfaces. It's not like it's going to slip all over the place. It's going to be solid. I think it's going to be more of an even matchup. No one is going to be limited as far as the element is going to prevent them from playing at the fullest level. I think it's going to be a better matchup. If I had to choose which line is better as far as the cheap D-line and the Bengals O-line, I would favor the cheap D-line because you got Chris Jones and then they also have one of the better D-line or the edge rusher. I can't think of his name right now. George Carloftis is pretty good too. He's one of the best edge rushing rookies. You're just making my point even better. I think they're going to nominate them because the Bengals, they're on their back up right now on the line. I think both tackles are on their back up and then obviously one of the interior is on their back up. It could be a closer game than you think it is going to be which is why I think it might be a high scoring game because both teams will be pretty even. I think they're going to be trying to get rid of the ball quicker and their secondary is not as good as the 49ers or the Eagles. It'll probably be a higher score game and then the other game is going to be low scoring. I hope it's high scoring just watching purposes. We better hope that the Bengals do win or we're going to have a lot of angry cheese fans. All the angry cheese fans. We already have them. If the Bengals win, we can at least prove our point. I think I only know one cheese fan and he was one of my teammates last year. Did you ban with him? No, he's from Kansas. I know that. No, he's not from Kansas. He's from Iowa. That's close enough. I guess that's really we're going to wrap that part up on the ASC, NSC championship games. I'll get into it a little bit more. Maybe have you guys on again for a Super Bowl preview. Oh yeah. Before we go, I wanted to give this last bit here and get your guys' take on this last question. I'm going to try and say it's a segment I'm going to try and do here and there where it's I ask people to give me the honest truth. My question for that is do you guys think that Brock Purdy will be the starting QB for the 49ers next year given the way he is playing right now? It's probably a better question for the 49ers fan. Who would you rather have as your starting quarterback next year? Brock Purdy has not lost a game. Why would you put in somebody else? You just rise a hot hand. Honestly. It's definitely Purdy. But that would be given that he won the Super Bowl then. If he loses this weekend, that they will just wipe the slate clean and be like, okay, let's reassess everyone and see who's going to be our starting quarterback on day one. We have three quarterbacks right now. You have Brock Purdy. They won't have Jimmy G. Right. They won't. He's probably going to go to Jets probably. I think Jimmy G. Jimmy G is gone for sure. This is his last year. He's a free agent. He resigned two years last year. You're thinking of the year before it probably. It was my understanding that Trey Lance was supposed to take over this year full time and it still happened that Jimmy G was still under contract and honestly, Trey Lance got hurt and they were like, well, shit. We got to go to plan B. Luckily, we have Jimmy G. I think it was actually for the best because Jimmy G led them to where they are almost and then Brock Purdy came in seven games ago. They were winning games with Jimmy G. I think they were able to kick it up a gear with Brock Purdy because he's more agile. He's able to get out of the pocket more often versus Jimmy G. Basically, Brady 2.0. Wait, hold up. Hold up. He's an agile quarterback? That's not a sustainable career. Sorry. He's mobile. He's a running back now. He's an agile quarterback. He's not going to last six months. That's another topic for another day. That's another day. For all those listeners out there who we're talking about. It's been said many times. I want to get back to Purdy. I believe it should be Brock Purdy. If the 49ers are a smart organization, they'll keep Brock Purdy whether he loses this weekend or not. To do this 7-0, four of which are against playoff teams and two of them in the playoffs, he's had five games over a quarterback rating of 110. Those are elite games. Five games. His worst game was only last week against the Cowboys, a top five defense, and his passer rating was 85 and yet they still won the game. It doesn't help that they're playing potentially the better defense this week. But still. You made your point. He had a great run. I wouldn't be surprised if he came out with another strong showing. I also wouldn't be surprised if he completely flat on his face and just shit his pants. Pardon my language. Family show. Family friendly. What the hell? Sorry. Family friendly show. Brock Purdy is the man for the 49ers here on out. Get rid of Trey Lance. Just send him the wrong invite for next spring. Honestly. Just tell him that the OTA is in Tennessee next year and then he'll just never come back. That's what you need to do with Trey Lance. He's honestly not that good of a quarterback. If you get rid of Trey Lance, who's going to be the backup? You still got to have a backup. Just draft another Mr. Irrelevant. Brock Purdy is the best system quarterback for Kyle Shanahan's system. All you need is another system quarterback. He's still just a rookie too. He's only 23 years old. He still can get better. He doesn't look like a rookie. So what you're saying is that he's a younger Stetson Bennett? Yes. Younger Stetson Bennett. Just draft Stetson Bennett. They could draft Stetson Bennett. There we go. We got two system quarterbacks. Put us in the draft room. We'll take care of the draft for the 49ers. The 49ers should sign Tom Brady to be the backup. The backup? Sign Tom Brady to be the backup. I've heard rumors of Tom Brady going to the 49ers. That's a strong possibility. I don't know where he goes. I have a stat here. I took Brock Purdy's seven games that he's played so far and put them into a 17-game season. If it averaged out to 17 games, he would have 3,993 passing yards, 34 touchdowns, and 5 picks. That's an amazing season. That's rookie of the year numbers. That's amazing. 34 touchdowns, 5 picks. That's what Aaron Rodgers put up last year. We don't talk about Aaron Rodgers on this show. Those are still elite numbers as a rookie. Tom Brady needs to go to Fox Sports and be in the broadcasting booth. He's not better than Brock Purdy right now. Honestly. Tom Brady's going to Fox Sports? Yeah. He has the contract. He's going to kick out Greg Olson. Greg Olson's a good analyst. He's a good analyst, but they're still going to kick him out. They'll kick him out. They'll have Tom Brady over him any day of the week. I don't like that. They have a huge contract with Tom Brady to be the elite color analyst. Tom Brady's making money no matter what. Where he really needs to go is to a brothel house. Get his frustration out there and then get back out to another team and then finally lead him to another Super Bowl. That's what really needs to happen. Tom Brady's got all his hands in the offseason now because he hasn't been knocked out of the playoffs before January. Ten years ago, probably. Yeah, he probably doesn't know what to do. He didn't schedule his Cancun trip until February. Yeah, he's divorced now. He's got that timeshare he can't have access to until February 10th. So he's just sitting around the house contemplating whether or not he… Yeah, he hates his kids. He's going to come back though. It's only a matter of where. Where? Where will he go? What team? To the retirement home. That's where he's going to go. There's no way he'll retire though. I don't think he'll retire. He'll probably die on the field, honestly. He won't retire. Yeah, so I don't know. That'll be a topic for another day for sure. Same with Aaron Rodgers. Tom Brady. They might trade him. We'll have a GOAT debate. Is he gone? GOAT debate? GOAT debate quarterbacks. We'll have a We'll do a QB room. We'll do a QB room. The best QB rooms in the NFL. Got you. With that being said, that will be the end of the show here.
