The speaker begins by encouraging listeners to rejoice in the Lord and thanking God for the gift of life. They introduce the Morning Glory Devotional and lead a prayer. The theme of the devotion is about being downcast in spirit and finding hope in God. They read from Psalm 42 and emphasize the importance of trusting in God and not allowing circumstances to bring us down. The speaker encourages listeners to put their hope in the Lord and praises Him for His help. They conclude with a memory verse and a prayer. Overall, the message is about finding hope and strength in God during difficult times. Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice. Shalom dearly beloved, we thank God for the gift of life and the privilege to encourage one another in His Word. God bless you so much for being a part of the Just Ended Prayer Startup. This is Harvest Chapel International Dinami Kumasi and facilitating today's episode of our Morning Glory Devotional, Pastor and Mrs. Tigra Staria. Please let us share a word of prayer. Father in the name of Jesus, we commit ourselves into your hands. We pray that the entrance of your Word will bring us understanding. May we be blessed by your Word this morning. In Jesus' name, Amen. Amen. Please let us take our confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Amen. Amen. The theme for this morning's devotion is, Why art thou cast down O my soul? Why art thou cast down O my soul? And our scripture reading shall be taken from Psalm 42 verse 1 to 10. Please I'll be reading from the New King James Version Psalm 42 verse 1 to 10. As the deer pant for the water brooks, so pant my soul for you O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, Where is your God? When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with a voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. Why are you cast down O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me. Therefore I will remember you from the land of Jordan, and from the heights of Haman, from the hill Medah. Deep calls unto deep are the noise of your waterfalls. All your waves and billows have gone over me. The Lord will command his loving kindness in the daytime, and in the night a song shall be with me, a prayer to the God of my life. I will say to God my rock, why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? As with the breaking of my bone, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, where is your God? The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God! Why art thou cast down O my soul? There are many circumstances in life that sometimes causes us to be down in spirit. Disappointment from family, friends and colleagues, heartbreak from a beloved, we may have lost a job, lost a loved one, our businesses may not be progressing as expected, and the likes. Our hands and feet may have been weakened from these devastating events that we seem to want to remain in the misery that we find ourselves in. When that happens, we fail to realize that we have rather given room for the devil to triumph over us. So from being downcast, we gradually gravitate to a state of being depressed. Why don't we rather put our trust and hope in the Lord? His word assures us that when we put our hope and our trust in Him, we will not be put to shame. Instead of brooding over our mishaps, let us look up to God who is the author and finisher of our faith. He will honor our faith in Him and resolve our issues. The psalmist says in the last part of the verse that, For I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. The Lord is our ever-present help in times of need. And for this reason, we can praise Him even in advance because we know that He will definitely show up on us and quicken us. He will inject His strength into us so that we can triumph over the enemy. Let us rise up and quicken ourselves as we put our trust and hope in the Lord. Amen. Amen. Shall we please take our memory verse for today? Our memory verse for today will be taken from Psalm 42 verse 5. Psalm 42 verse 5 and I read from the New King James Version. Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. Amen. Amen. So beloved, many circumstances in life can cause us to be down in spirit and even lead us to a state of being depressed. Instead of focusing and building so much on them, let us look to Jesus, putting our trust and hope in Him as He is our ever-present help in times of need. Amen. Amen. Shall we share a word of prayer? Almighty Father, we thank You so much for Your Word that has come to us this morning. We pray that Lord You help us to put our trust and our hope in You always. In Jesus' mighty name have we prayed with thanksgiving. Amen. Amen. Please continue to keep your dial on Radio HCI today as we have more spiritual content for your spiritual nourishment. Thank you and please have a blessed day. Amen. Amen.
