The Morning Glory Devotion is about having undying hope as a believer. The hope is built on four foundations: God is, God cares, God can, and God will. Today, they discussed the fourth foundation, which is the knowledge that God will do what is best for you. They emphasized that God loves and cares for you more than you love and care for yourself. They encouraged believers to trust in God's will and not doubt when making their requests known to Him. The passage from 1 John 5:14-15 assures that if we ask anything according to God's will, He hears us and we will receive what we ask for. They ended with a memory verse from Matthew 7:7-8, reminding believers to ask, seek, and knock, knowing that they will receive, find, and have doors opened for them.
Salaam, wonderful family, and welcome to today's Morning Glory Devotion. God bless you for being a part of the Just Ended Prayer Time. My name is Joshua from Harvest Chapel International Akumasi, and it is a privilege to be facilitating today's Morning Glory Devotion. Let us pray. Father, we thank you for another wonderful day. Lord, this morning we pray for your presence to be with us as we study your word. As we listen to your word, reveal yourself to us more and more.
Let hope be renewed in us and cause our faith to be perfected. In the name of Jesus, we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Let us take our confession from Joshua 1 verse 8. Joshua 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success.
Amen. The theme for today's devotion is Undying Hope. This is part four of a five-part series, and our scripture readings for today will be from 1 John chapter 5 verse 14 to 15 and 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 13. 1 John chapter 5 verse 14 to 15. I'll be reading from the World English Bible. Now this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions we have asked of him.
Amen. 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 13. From the New Living Translation. Three things will last forever. Faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love. Amen. In our previous discourses on the theme of undying hope, we have looked at how the hope of the believer is unique in that it is built on unchanging truth. We have mentioned that the undying hope of the believer is built on four foundations which are, one, God is, God is, two, God cares, three, God can, and four, God will.
We have looked at the first foundation, the conscious deliberate conviction of the existence of God and why it is essential. We have looked at the second foundation which is the knowledge and understanding of the love of God. And we mentioned that the knowledge and the assurance that God cares for you is an essential one, especially because we live in a fallen world filled with pain and suffering. We have also looked at the third foundation, the knowledge and understanding that nothing is impossible for God.
We also mentioned that upon going through the scriptures, you will quickly realize that your situation is not an impossible one with God on your side, and no situation will ever be an impossible one as far as God is concerned. Today we want to proceed to the fourth and final foundation of the undying hope of the believer which is the knowledge and understanding that God will do what is best for you. Yes, God can do anything, but he does not do everything.
Why? Because he cares for you. The apostle Peter shares this in 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 9. He says, The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. Beloved, you cannot compete with God in knowledge, and you cannot compete with God when it comes to love. God, as the author of love, loves you more than you love yourself.
In fact, there are many of us that do not even know the first thing about loving ourselves, but that is a discussion for another time. Beloved, God exists. He is who he says he is. He loves you and cares for you. He has the power to do everything and anything, but he is concerned about doing what is best for you, and so he chooses to do exactly what is best for you and I. This is a crowning foundation of the undying hope of the believer, the understanding that God will do what is best for you.
As today's first passage makes clear, this knowledge and understanding is our confidence and hope. We can completely trust that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us and we receive what we have asked of him. We know we can trust his will because we know that he cares for us and we are able to ask anything without doubting because we know that nothing is impossible for him. Beloved, whenever the voice of doubt comes to you as you lay your petitions before the Lord, remember the foundations of the hope that you have in him.
You are simply making your heartfelt requests and trusting the Almighty God who knows all things and is able to do all things and cares for you to do exactly what is right and best for you, which is his will for you. If God did not withhold his beloved Son from us and if he did not withhold his precious Holy Spirit from us, what good thing would he withhold from us? There is no reason to doubt that he will do it.
He will do what he has promised to do. He will do what is best for you. He will fulfill his perfect counsel concerning you. This is the confidence and hope with which we pray and with which we wait earnestly for the fulfillment of the promises of the Lord. This is the confidence, hope, and the faith that the three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, had when they refused to bow down to the Eucharist's golden statue. And this is the undying hope that has been the faithful companion and comfort of every believer who has stood the test of time and entered into the hall of fame of faith.
Amen. Let us take a memory verse from Matthew chapter 7 verse 7 and 8. Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Amen. Let us pray. Father we thank you for your word that has come to us today. We pray that your perfect will for our lives will be established and that we shall all mature into the fullness of the stature of your son Jesus Christ.
Let this undying hope be our faithful companion on our journey of faith and cause us to see the fulfillment of your promises in our lives. In the name of Jesus we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Amen. Thank you for listening and stay tuned for more Spirit-filled content on Radio HCI today. Until we come your way once again tomorrow morning at the same time, do stay blessed.
