Tales from the Nexus House Episode 1 The Director

The protagonist recounts their past as a weapon for someone, winning wars and betrayals. They were stabbed and left for dead, but found a black pyramid with a glowing door. Inside, they felt guilt and pain from betraying and killing others. To relieve themselves of guilt, they returned to their maker and killed their allies. Feeling relief, they left and encountered the pyramid again. They entered an office labeled "Director of the Hades Bureau" and found a mask. Realizing this was a new beginning, they hope to make up for their mistakes and forgive themselves. Tales from the Nexus House Episode 1 The Director I was his greatest weapon. I won the war against his father. I slaughtered all his enemies. Yet he betrayed me. He plunged his spear into my chest and threw me into a river made from the blood of my victims. I thought myself dead. But then I saw a black pyramid with a door made of light. I do not know why, but as I looked at the light I felt the will to lift myself from the mud and walk towards its mesmerizing glow. When I entered this place I appeared before two graves. The graves of the first ones I betrayed. The first ones I killed for my paper. And I felt the pain in my chest worse than the wound that my maker gave me. I believe that humans call it guilt. I screamed in agonizing pain. The pain that this guilt gave me was too much to bear. But I knew how to relieve myself of this burden. I returned to my maker to finish what I had started. I killed all of his allies just like I had done to his enemies. But unlike him, I made sure that the job was done. As my maker's blood stained my hand, I felt a sense of relief and freedom. I left my former master's domain. But as I did, I saw the pyramid again. I approached it once more and see an office with the words Director of the Hades Bureau. I opened the door and see a mask on a desk. It has horns and a depiction of a skull on it. That was when I realized that this place was a gift. A new beginning given to me by that strange pyramid. I will use this new life to make up for the mistakes that I have made and hopefully find the strength to forgive myself.
