The Reverend Greg from Marble Collegiate Church shares the St. Francis Prayer, asking to be an instrument of peace, love, and understanding. He encourages listeners to be encouragers and provides contact information for the church. Thank you for calling Marble Collegiate Church's encouraging word. I'm Reverend Greg, an ordained interfaith minister for family caregiving. In my ministry, one of the most requested prayers, and one of the prayers that has meant the most to me, has been the St. Francis Prayer. And so I want to share that with you right now. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow charity. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is error, the truth. Where there is doubt, the faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand. To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned. And it is in dying to ourselves that we are born to eternal life. Amen. If you would like to be an encourager, feel free to share our encouraging word number with others. For your convenience, our encouraging word is available day or night.
