The speaker is introducing the Flax6Basically podcast, which is a result of a group chat among students at the University of Greenwich. They used to live together and formed a close-knit group. The speaker wanted to create a podcast to discuss various topics and real-life problems. However, they no longer live together and are now in different living situations. The podcast will feature different members of the group and their talents, such as the Sabrina Project and Gabriel Paz's music journey. The speaker is excited to start the podcast and hopes to eventually have all 14 members together for a discussion. The podcast is called Flax6Basically and is hosted by Erin. Hello and welcome to Flax6Basically podcast. Yep, we're finally doing it guys. It's finally happening. I have been thinking about this for the last couple of years, ever since we moved in and lived together last year. Unfortunately we don't all live together now, but we'll get into that. So yeah, Flax6Basically, my goodness, who'd think from a little group chat it would now be a podcast. But we are all students at the University of Greenwich. We either have studied here and dropped out, or we're doing a masters, or undergrads, or we're in first year, we're in second year. We're all over the place. There's a good mixture of us. There's a good 14 of us as well. So yeah, so basically last year we all lived together in student accommodation. That's how we all got to know each other. That's how we formed this family, formed this friendship, formed this TV show, podcast. But we all lived together last year. As I said, there was 14 of us, but there's actually seven of us that actually live in Flax6. We kind of just adopted people from upstairs, downstairs, across the hallway, and they never left. Sometimes they were on our balcony before we were. But yeah, so that's it basically. I wanted to make a podcast when we first sat on the balcony and we're kind of speaking. I can't even remember what we were speaking about. We have had so many different conversations, different topics, discussions. You say it, we've had it probably. And I really wanted to just put a microphone in the middle and just be like, you know what, talk away. Talk about anything. And we could have done that quite easily. And we could have talked for hours on end about absolute rubbish kind of thing. But there's sometimes some real life problems as well that we've talked about and be like, yeah, we need to discuss this. We need to be open about this. So yeah, now we're here. A couple of years later, we're now in my own student accommodation room. As I said, we've all now departed ways of living situations. A couple of us still live in accommodation. A few of us own our own houses, flats. A couple moved away, a couple dropped out kind of thing. So we're all still around. But yeah, unfortunately we don't live together this year. So yeah, I'm doing this from my own little room kind of thing. And I'm so excited to start introducing each other on. And that will happen over the next couple of weeks kind of thing. As I said, there's 14 of us. There's a lot to get through. We all have so many of these talents, so many of these discussions, topics that we talk about. Like, for example, we've got Kath, who is part of the Sabrina Project at the University of Greenwich. So I'd love to have her come on about this and talk about what they do. They're a brilliant project that does violence against women. And it's so interesting and so humbling as well. So I'd love her to come on about that. We also have Gabriel Paz. Gabriel Paz has his own EP. I want to kind of talk to him about his little journey about music and all that fun stuff. There's so much we can discuss, so many topics. And I am so excited to get this all started and introduce you to like everyone individually. And hopefully one day we can all sit in a room of 14 of us once we have enough microphones and enough equipment and just have one big discussion. We might be screaming at each other. We might be hugging each other. We never know. New day, new us. We don't know. But yeah, so that is all I'm going to speak about today. It's been lovely trying to start this. I'm so excited to start this and see where this goes. But you have been listening to Flat Six based on the podcast. I am your host Erin for the day. And I hope you all have a fantastic day and we'll see you very soon.
