The host, Larry Marble, interviews Budge Herbert from Fort Smith Stockyards on the Arklahoma Livestock Market News Service. They discuss the previous week's sale, which was better than most places, and highlight some of the notable consignments, including steers and heifers. They also mention stock cows and upcoming sales. Budge provides contact information for the sale and Larry thanks him for being on the show. Arklahoma neighbor, welcome back to my kitchen table. I'm Larry Marble. This is Let's Walk the Pins on the Arklahoma Livestock Market News Service in Red Dirt 96.7. Budge Herbert, Fort Smith Stockyards. Budge, you had a good sale this last Monday. You're going to sell today. We'll tell folks about that here in a bit, but let's talk about last week. How was it? I had a really good sale, Larry. It was a 5 to 10 better than most places this week with Big Irwin's being steady. I had 1,668 heads. Really nice set of cattle this week. Good deal, Budge. Let's talk about some of your bell ringer consignments, those front pasture kind of cattle everybody wants. Larry had a couple of straight loads of steers. Had 72 steers being mostly black, bought as peewees, weighing 400 pounds, turned out all summer. Weighed 723 at 261. Had 71 of those steers weighing 825 at 251. Really nice sale, Larry. A set of little black heifers, really thin, long-tailed, weighing 469 at 250. Had a set of unweaned crossbred steers. Actually, they were my home-raised steers, weighing 6 at 260. Had stock cows this week. Had a little set of crossbred cows. They were young, bred. Some of them were pairs. Cows weighing 1875. All of the pairs weighing 1950 with little calves on their side. Stock cows would have been a couple better this week, up to 118. Bulls at 125. We did not have a fancy-killing bull this week. Budge, tell everybody how to get ahold of you for today's sale. You can reach us on the barn phone at 918-875-3131 for the links to the three owners, Budge Herbert, Scotty Smith, and Sam Chandler. We'd be glad to help you. I'd like to remind everybody about our upcoming pre-vax sale. See you on November 20th. It's been a really good sale for Wayne Cattle. Budge, thanks for being on Let's Walk the Pens here on the Arklahoma Livestock Market News Service. And, Arklahoma neighbor, thank you, too, for listening to us. We'll be back tomorrow, 645 in the morning, 1245 at noon. No place but Red Dirt 96.7. I'm Larry Marble. You're my neighbor. Good day.
