She has had a successful career in acting, writing, and television, and has a large following on TikTok. Miriam believes in living life to the fullest, comparing it to enjoying a cheesecake. Welcome to the Late Fragments podcast. In this episode I'll be talking to the actress, writer and television personality Miriam Margulies. Best known for her comic turns in Blackadder and Harry Potter, she's also won several awards for her more serious roles, fronted a number of BBC documentary series, and over the course of a 55-year career voiced hundreds of books, radio plays and commercials. Her no-holds-barred appearances on The Graham Norton Show have become the stuff of legend, and she has a TikTok following that would make Kim Kardashian sit up and take notice. But Miriam was not at all what I expected. Her reputation may be as a truth-teller, sometimes to the point of overshare, and by the way, her autobiography This Much Is True does not disappoint on that front, but her public persona belies a much quieter, more thoughtful truth. Yes, she swears, and no, she doesn't have any filters, but there is, as I'm discovering, is almost always the case with people in the public eye that you think you know. So much more to her than that. Life is like a cheesecake, she says. You want to have as much as you can. I hope you enjoy listening.
