Today, in the technology class, we will talk about when technology was born. But what is technology? It is the discipline that studies materials and how to transform them into objects. These objects must be useful for humans to live well, to be healthy, and to perform various activities. We could say that technology expresses human life, their ability to construct things. The word "technique" means exactly that, the ability to construct things. What makes humans builders? Certainly, it is the necessity to survive, to stay warm, to dress, to light houses to see at night, to use fire for cooking. All these needs and many others have led humans to develop technology, to use techniques to build objects. Oggi, per la disciplina tecnologia, parleremo di quando è nata proprio la tecnologia. Facciamo un passo indietro, ma che cos'è tecnologia? La tecnologia è la disciplina che studia i materiali e anche il modo per poterli trasformare in oggetti. Gli oggetti, naturalmente, devono essere cose utili all'uomo per vivere bene, per stare bene e per fare tante attività, per fare tante cose. Potremmo dire che la tecnologia, in un qualche modo, esprime la vita dell'uomo, la sua capacità di saper costruire tante cose e, in effetti, la parola tecnica vuol dire proprio questo, saper costruire tante cose. Cosa rende l'uomo un costruttore, cioè cosa rende l'uomo un essere capace di costruire oggetti? Beh, sicuramente la necessità, la necessità di sopravvivere, la necessità di riscaldarsi, di vestirsi, di illuminare le case per poter vedere la notte, di utilizzare il fuoco per poter cucinare. Tutte queste necessità e molte altre hanno fatto sì che l'uomo sviluppasse la tecnologia, cioè ricorresse a delle tecniche per costruire degli oggetti.
