So now, let's continue with the second part of our podcast. Y ahora continuamos con la segunda parte de nuestro podcast. First Timothy. Chapter 3. Verse 14. First Timothy, chapter 3, verse 15. Here it says, if I delay, you may know how, say with me, I may know how, say with me, I may know how, one ought to behave in the household of God. So it's for wisdom, for understanding, and then that expression, ought to behave, that word, ought to behave, that expression, is the Greek word, anastrefo. Esa palabra griega, anastrefo, That Greek word is comprised of two words. Number one, the word ana, a-n-a-a, a-n-a, a-n-a. That word means, to repeat continually and with greater intensity. Repetir continuamente con una intensidad fuerte. It also means, to produce a movement from a low place to a higher place. So it means, to do something continually, with greater intensity, and to grab something that's in a low place, to lift it up to a high place. That word strefo, s-t-r-e-p-h-o, means, that word is tied to the word metaf, where we get metamorphosis, or metanoia. But that word means, to turn, to give the back to. It also means, to turn oneself in their course of conduct. It also means, to change your mind. And so if you look at it from that perspective, what is being spoken in this book, another way to express it is, it says, if I delay, you may know how one can continually and with greater intensity, just translate, if I delay, you may know how one can continually and with greater intensity, turn their back to the things that are ungodly. Taking your thoughts, from a low place of thinking, to God's high place of thinking. That's what the church is for. So that you can learn, how to turn your back, not only to sin, but to sinful lifestyles. Thoughts that are not the way that God thinks. The church is for you to give value, so you can value it. This is a house, where the Lord grabs you from your low way of thinking, and lifts you up to His way of thinking, empowering you, to continually turn your back, to unholy, ungodly way of thinking. That's what He's saying. Let's repeat it, it says, if I delay, you may know how you ought to behave. That word, ought to behave, means, it's not to how to behave in the church. It's not how to behave like a hypocrite. That you put one face in church, and another face outside. That's not what He's saying. It's not the way that you would behave in the church. It's not the way that you would behave in the church. But for you to be empowered, so that you can overcome sin. That you would turn your back to sin. That you would turn your back to the way the world lives. If you don't come to church, you will forget, that marriage is between a man and a female. That marriage is between a man and a woman. And your children will be persuaded that two men or two women can get married. Because that's what they're being taught outside. But in the house of the Lord, the truth is spoken. Wisdom arises. You are empowered, to turn your back to the way the world lives. Give value to the house of God. This is why you come to the house of the Lord. So that you can be empowered. So that you can have wisdom. So that you can have understanding. So that you can be corrected. So that you can be disciplined. So that you can be chastised So that you can be chastised by the Lord. Not by a pastor. But by the Lord. Through the word of God. Because He loves you. He wants to see you live pure. He wants to see you live holy. Isaiah 55 Isaiah 55 Say with me, thank you Jesus. Come on, say it with your heart involved. Thank you Jesus. This is why the houses exist. Isaiah 55 verse 8 Remember that word streffle means to pick something up from low to high. And Isaiah 55 verse 8 says My thoughts are not your thoughts. Nor my ways your ways says the Lord. Verse 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth So are my ways higher than the earth. And my thoughts higher than your thoughts. So when you come Go ahead So when you come to the house of the Lord Don't pick and choose What I want to obey, what I don't want to obey. What is convenient for me and what is not convenient for me. It is the wisdom of the Lord. His thoughts are higher than ours. His ways are higher than ours. His ways are better than ours. So, in love I tell you If you feel uncomfortable when you come If you feel uncomfortable when you come It's the Lord speaking to you. To help you change your ways. So that you can see the way He sees. Not going to sugar coat it. That's good, good translation. Romans 12 Are you receiving? Say it with me. I want to value the house of the Lord. Say it with me. God is giving me greater value To value His house. Romans 12 Verse 2 This goes tied to what we just read in 1 Timothy. Do not be conformed to this world But transformed by the renewing of your mind That by testing you may discern What is the will of God What is the good and acceptable And perfect. What is good, acceptable and perfect. And so, in the house of the Lord We will be confronted. The Lord will speak harsh Not harshly to us But He will speak to us To discipline us To change us So don't run away Because they tell you the truth Don't feel offended Because truth is being spoken Grasp the word Turn your back to sin Walk right with God God never called you to walk According to the world God never called you to walk According to the world But He called you to walk According to the way He walks 1 Timothy 3 verse 15 Let's go back there If I delay, you may know How one ought to behave You already know what that is In the household of God Which is the church of the living God A pillar and a buttress of truth Number 9 Number 9 of the value of the house of God Is so that truth can be spoken to us When I read this verse And I saw that really weird word In chapter 15 It's like buttress Don't worry, I got it in my translations Not in yours Here it says the ground of truth But the translation I have Says buttress It's a weird name It's a weird word So I went to find the definition To my surprise That word means A projected support of a stone Built against the wall It also means a source of defense It means to increase the strength Of justification To reinforce But the main translation is That it's a stone According to scripture Jesus is not only the head of the church But He's also the cornerstone The chief cornerstone of the church And so when He speaks about How there'll be a pillar And a buttress of truth Of truth What He's speaking of Is that cornerstone 1 Peter Chapter 2 Verse 7 Can you give me just a few more moments Yes Learning on the value of the household 1 Peter 2 Verse 7 It says So the honor is for you who believe Or for those who do not believe The stone that the builders rejected Has become the cornerstone So the honor is for you who believe Or for those who do not believe The stone that the builders rejected Has become the cornerstone Say with me cornerstone Christ Represents that cornerstone Of the building of the church He's not just the head But He's also that cornerstone Verse 8 says And a stone of stumbling He's speaking of the cornerstone And a rock of offense They stumble because they disobey the word As they were destined to do Do you know what a cornerstone was for? A cornerstone in those times Was extremely important Because that stone Was going to set The direction of the foundation Of that house It's a stone that is somewhat Like a triangle And it would set The limits The direction The borders Of how that house was going to be built Without the cornerstone That house It's foundation Will be out of whack This is the reason why Christ is the cornerstone He's not only the head So He doesn't just cover But He's also the cornerstone He's the foundation From where everything else Is built off of That cornerstone Is the first one But it's the one that gives direction To the rest of all the other stones Ephesians 2 If I could have the worship team Verse 19 I'm giving you the value of the house I'm giving you the value of the house There is no house If Christ is not the cornerstone I'm going to get in trouble If the Virgin Mary Is the cornerstone That house is not going to remain If Buddha is the cornerstone If Muhammad is that cornerstone If your flesh is that cornerstone If your desires is that cornerstone That house Is going to be completely out of whack There's only one cornerstone For which we should build our own life And for which we build this house His name is Jesus Christ He is the cornerstone of the church It begins with Him And it ends with Him Ephesians 2 Verse 19 So then you are no longer Strangers and aliens But you are fellow citizens With the saints and the members Of the household of God But built on the foundation Of the apostles and the prophets Christ Jesus himself Being the cornerstone In whom the whole structure Grows into a holy temple In the Lord In Him You are also being Built together Into a dwelling place For God by the Spirit So then you are no longer Strangers and aliens But fellow citizens With the saints and the members Of the household of God But built on the foundation Of the apostles and the prophets Christ Jesus himself Being the holy temple In the Lord In Him You are also being built Into a dwelling place For God by the Spirit Verse 21 In whom the whole building Being fitted together This is why the Lord Brings you to the house of God So that you are a part Of the church So that you would be Fitted together Together with Him But He gives you The direction He gives you the shape He straightens you out He places The correct measurements So that we would be Fitted together Grow together Grow together As a holy temple For the Lord That way This is why the Lord calls us This is why you are so important This is why you should be In the house of the Lord Oh, I'm going to get in trouble This is why Whenever you stray away And you come back This is your language I feel like I don't fit in You are outside You stop being fitted together Because we are spiritual beings I'm not even touching the verse Where it says that we are spiritual stones Being built together As a church As a spiritual temple For the Lord So if you have revelation of this When we come to When you are not here This is a revelation This is an empty space But when you come Regardless of how you come The Lord is fitting you in And we are becoming a holy temple And we are ministering to the Lord And His presence comes Over the spiritual Stones And He is fitting us together In preparation For His glory Man, that's so good That's so good Number 10 It's a place of growing together It's a place of becoming one as a family I'll leave this for homework Psalms 122, verses 1-4 Number 11 The house of the Lord Is a house of joy And a house of delight Where we delight in the Lord We grow together as a family There's unity Number 12 The house of the Lord It's a house of encounters It's a house of miracles It's a house of healing This is not the place Where your heart should be hurt When you come to the house of the Lord You run so your heart Would be healed This is the place where the Lord Can heal your heart That's His heart But pastor, I got offended And my heart is hurt Because someone in church Yeah, but hang on to that Cornerstone And you will see how He will heal your heart Remain fitted For more information visit www.fema.org
