Hey there, this is Anna with God's Podcast. Lord, I want to thank you for bringing us together today in worship. I thank you for all that you do for us, Lord. I lift up each and every person listening, open their ears, their hearts, and their minds, Lord. I thank you. I give you all the glory. In your mighty name, Amen. The closer you get to God, the more you're going to have to let go. I want to share seven habits I feel need to be let go in this journey with God.
Number one, worrying. When you are getting closer to God, you have to let go of worry. We are called to cast our worries onto God. He wants us to cast all of our burdens onto Him. That is how amazing and good of a God we have. So stop worrying. Cast those burdens onto God. Number two, fear. God does not want us to fear. That is the devil at work. He is a liar. The devil places fear, doubt, and anxiety in us to distract us, to get us off our path and our purpose God has for us.
You don't have anything to fear, for the Almighty God walks before you, besides you, in front of you, and sometimes even carries you. So stop having that fear, because God did not give you the spirit of fear. No weapon, he says, can come against you. Stop the devil and put your faith in the Almighty God, who is with you. You need to stop saying, I could never do that, or I'm afraid of that. That's fear talking.
That's the devil. You need to stop speaking death over your life. Which brings me to number three, life and death of the tongue. Do not curse death over your life. What you speak into your life makes or breaks you. If you speak death, you allow the devil to come in. Speak life into your life, daily, and see how God works. When you speak of positivity, you will see God working in everything. God will bring good into your life.
God will fill your heart. Don't let the lying devil fill your life with negativity. Number four, stop being a people pleaser. Stop caring about what people think of you. You are not always going to be liked. You will be persecuted when you preach the truth, because it is contrary to everything this world believes in. So instead, why not be a God pleaser? At the end of this life, you are not going to have to go before all these people.
You are only going to have to go before God. So please Him. Number five, stop isolating yourself. Unless you are being called into a season of isolation, you should be surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals who are going to lift you up and keep you accountable with your walk with God. God explains this in the Bible, where two or more are gathered, He will be there. Go find yourself and pray about it to find centered friendships and grow together in God.
Number six, stop giving into your worldly desires. Stop giving into your flesh. Your flesh wants everything that the spirit opposes. Live in obedience to God and His word. The things of this world cannot go with you to heaven. The things of this world are temporary, but God is eternal. God is forever and will never disappoint you like His word says. So pray to God to take back your flesh and give you godly desires. Number seven, believe in God's promise.
God is not a liar. He fulfills His promises always. You need to put your faith and trust in Him, for He knows the plans for your future. Believe in God's promise, for He will never forsake you. God is a God of mercy. God is a God of love. God is a God of promise. Never lose faith in God. I hope you enjoyed today's episode. I ask that you share it with someone who needs God in their life.
I ask that you share it with someone who is depressed. I ask that you share it with someone who needs a friend. Lord, I thank you for today. I thank you for allowing us to come together and share your word. I ask that you bring peace, joy, and love to each and every person that is listening. Lord, I thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my love for you. None of this would be possible without you, and I give you all the glory.
I praise you, in your name, amen. Until next episode, keep bibling and keep walking with God.
