Nothing to say, yet
A radio show host named Warren receives an email from a listener named Emily, asking for help with a prank. Emily wants to play a joke on her friend Anna, who recently bought a BMW. Warren decides to make a prank phone call to Anna, pretending to be from the BMW dealership and telling her that her car has been damaged and is in pieces. Anna gets upset and demands to speak to the manager, but eventually realizes it's a prank and laughs it off. Warren and Anna have fun with the prank and plan to do more in the future. It's the Morning Show with Warren. It's me, of course, if you're having a good start to your Friday so far. Of course, the show is always about you. I'm always looking for ways to make the show even better, obviously. And we know you could be listening to the Lo-Fi Beats to study to and relax to channel right now on Spotify, but no, you're not doing that. You're listening to the radio, listening to me, which I absolutely appreciate. And I wanted to share this with you today, an email from our dear friend Emily out there in Redmond. And she wrote in today looking for some help with a prank. And you know, this is right up my alley. So she writes in, Dear Warren, I wanted to write in the show and see if you'd be willing to help me pull a prank on my dear friend, Anna. Well, of course we would be. She recently bought a 2022 BMW M3, and she's treating this car like it's her baby. She had to take it to the dealership recently for some maintenance, and she's stressing out about something going wrong while the car is there. Is there any way you could help me mess with her and make her think that something went wrong with the car at the dealership? From Emily. Well, Emily, I think there's only one thing to do. I think it's time for a radio prank phone call. So let's do it. Hello? Uh, hello. My name is like William. I'm calling for Anna from BMW of Hello. Is my car ready to pick up? Uh, hi Anna. So like I'm calling about your 2022 BMW M3, like super, super nice car, by the way. Um, I just want to tell you that your car is not quite ready because we, uh, had some issues with it. Uh, we did like all the fluids and all the filters and whatnot. And like, that was all like good, but, uh, we kind of had an issue with your car. What happened? Um, like your car is not actually here right now. It's like somewhere else. So I want to tell you that so you don't come down here later and like wonder where your car is. Nowhere is it? Um, it's like in 50 pieces, like a hundred pieces somewhere because like we had a little bit of an incident. So your car is just not like ready for pickup and it probably won't be. Sorry. What's your, what's your name again? Uh, my name is William from BMW of Bellevue. What do you mean there's an accident? What happened? Um, so like your car had like a bit of an incident on the freeway. Like we were testing out the fluids and the filters and whatnot, because like, that's what we do. We just like check it. And, uh, your car just like had a little bit of a problem and now it's in like 50 pieces. Where did it happen? Um, so like, just like on the freeway, just like right in front of you. Where did it happen? Um, so like, just like on the freeway, just like right outside. Like we got on the freeway, just like check it out. Why, why did you guys even need to drive it to the freeway in the first place? Uh, cause when we like, like service the filters and like the fluids and whatnot, like we have to check it and make sure like everything is good. So we like drive it on the freeway. I never heard of that. I thought you guys only test my car inside the shop. Yeah, this is like a totally BMW thing. Like we just have to like drive it just to make sure everything's good. But even like previously you never drove it on the freeway? Yeah. So like every technician is different. Um, we just needed to test it and make sure everything is like good for you. Cause we want you to have like a good car. Okay. Then what happens now? Um, okay. Well like your car got into an accident, um, like it's in 50 pieces. Uh, we did have the insurance company here. Um, they were like, yeah, this thing is probably not drivable and probably will never will be. So your car is just not like drivable. Not drivable? Then I would just get the exact same car back home, right? The same model? Uh, yeah. So like, that's the thing. So the insurance company says that like they can work on like that thing for you. But unfortunately we can't help you anymore because like, it's not really our fault. So like the insurance company is going to have to do that. What do you mean it's not your fault? It happened in your place. Uh, well see, that's the thing. So like it didn't really happen like at our dealership. It like happened outside, like somewhere else. Um, and that like means that we're not really, uh, that's not really our problem. So we just have to- But it was not me driving. It was your staff driving it, testing it and have the problem when I sent the car to your maintenance, right? It's not my problem. So I will not go to my insurance company to fix it. Yeah. Yeah. But that's the thing. So like once the car is not on our lot anymore, like that becomes like the owner's responsibility because it's not really our thing anymore. So, uh, unfortunately- That doesn't sound right to me. I'm not going to know. I cannot accept that. Okay. So here's the thing. I thought that maybe you might have a little bit of a problem with that. And I talked to my manager, Karen, and she's just like, yeah, maybe we should try to make this better. Um, so what we can do is we can have you like come down and maybe you could like pick out a different car if you want a different car. I don't want a different car. I only want the same model and the same price. Okay. So like your car is worth like $90,000 and it's really nice and stuff. And like, you know, we would love to give you that car. We don't have that car. Um, so I can give you like, you know, a used car that we've got in our lot. Like right now, I mean, we've got like some really good cars. Do you want to hear about them? We've got like a 2006 Honda Odyssey for sale. It's like really nice and stuff. No, I'm not going to take that. How much does that cost right now at the market? That would only cost you like $9,000 extra. So you could get like yourself a new car, like right now and start driving again because like this car is not- What do you mean? You mean I'm going to pay for it? Uh, yeah, you're going to have to pay for that obviously, but it's like really cheap. And you can wait for your insurance money that way too, right? That doesn't sound right to me at all. I don't want to listen to other options. I would just take my exact same car back. And I think you guys are responsible for it. Uh, we don't like have that car though. Like we don't have like really nice cars right now because of like COVID and whatnot. So, um, if you could like just maybe, you know, consider another- Then maybe you guys should import one from other countries or from other dealerships storing the country. Yeah, we might get some more in the future, but like we're thinking that right now, maybe you just want to like contact the insurance company and let them deal with it. No, I'm not going to talk to my insurance company. I'm going to talk to your manager. Is she there right now? Uh, yeah. So Karen is like busy right now. She's like in the parking lot trying to pick up some pieces for your car. Like it was all like dropped off like earlier on. So she's like picking that up right now, putting it in some trash bags. You guys don't have other tax to do it. You have to ask Karen to do it. Uh, yeah. So like Karen, she's trying to like make this right for you in every way possible. Like, you know, if you want to like come down and look at the other cars we've got, like we've got other things that you can look at and like- I'm not willing to come down to look at other cars. I'm going to come down to discuss this issue with you. Uh, well, if I pull out like the 2005 Sunflyer we've got like on the lot right now, it's got like 130,000 miles. It's really- No, I'm not listening to these other car options. I'm only going to drive the same exact model. Okay. I should caution you if you like come down here right now. So, um, here's the thing. We don't really have like $90,000 for your car. Um, so that's why you have to go through insurance because we just don't like have that right now. So- I don't think BMW will not have $90,000 in their cash this year. That's not possible. Yeah, but we're like not BMW exactly. We're like a dealership. So like, you know, we just don't know like what is going to happen from a day-to-day basis. I mean, like today was just like, whoa, dude, like what's happening? Then I need to talk to Karen right now. You need to like get her back into here. I need to put her on the phone. Uh, Karen can't come to the phone. So like, you're gonna have to talk to me. Uh, again, my name is like William. So I'm always here to help you if you need it. But like, this is all I can really offer you. That's just ridiculous. No, I have to talk to your manager right now on Karen's manager. Uh, yeah. So she's not going to come to the phone. Um, I can, I can like write you like a cashier's check maybe. And then it could be like for like $9,000. Oh, it's fine. You know what? I was just to talk to the salesperson who sold me this car in the first place. And I would figure out who your real manager is. Uh, like that's not going to work either because like, this isn't actually a real phone call. This is like a prank to you right now. What do you mean by that? This is actually Warren. I'm calling you from the radio. Have you ever listened to the show? Sometimes. Well, your friend, Emily set you up with a great phone call. She wanted to see if you would react to hearing that your car is destroyed, but your car is fine. That's funny. That's funny. Okay. Fortunately my car is fine and you don't really work at BMW. No, I do not. And I don't think they want me to work there anytime soon. Thank God. Thank God my car is fine. Did you have fun? Yeah. Oh, I love it. I love it. I don't know. What do you think? Maybe next week we'll do the same exact thing. Do a prank phone call. Anna, you're such a good sport today. Thank you for being a part of the show. We really do appreciate it. We will do that again next week, same time, as long as I still have this job. We'll see about that.
