The key to self-development is understanding someone's motivator and their desired state. By asking questions about their motivator and what they are willing to do, it creates an emotional attachment and accelerates self-development and talent development. Now, the key to self-development, really the major opportunity with self-development, is understanding somebody's motivator, their wift, what's in it for them, what's their endgame, what's their desired state, where do they want to end up, what do they want to be doing, what would they love to be doing more of. When you ask those questions around the motivator, and then you ask the question or facilitate the choice around, so what are you going to do to develop yourself, what are some things you're willing to do on your own? Those questions tied to what motivates someone, again, creates that emotional attachment. So when you find out what motivates someone, ask them, what are you willing to do? What are some resources you need that will allow you to learn on your own? And what that will do is accelerate self-development and talent development.
