Hello, and welcome to another episode of The Holistris. I am so excited that you tuned in today because I have a very special episode planned for you. Since the full moon eclipse is coming, I have decided that what's better of a time than to do a different type of an episode. So for all of my plant medicine people out there, my holistic people, my herbalists, and even if you don't dabble with it but just interested in it, this episode is definitely for you. Because today, we are going to be talking about the very important topic of sacred cannabis as plant medicine and how we can all use it to help heal ourselves, not just physically, emotionally, but spiritually as well. So stay tuned because we're about to get into all of that. So in order to start this story, we have to travel back in time a little bit. COVID hit and this part of my life, I was practicing as a nurse in a hospital. I was in the OR and because COVID hit, the OR shut down and I was redeployed to the intensive care unit, the COVID positive, COVID positive intensive care unit where I was taking care of patients who were sedated with drugs, they were paralyzed with drugs, and they were intubated in order to save their life. And this was a lot, this was a lot for all of us. So this is the start of a journey that we're about to go on here, friends, and I'm excited to share it with you. So sit down, pull yourself up, a cup of tea, a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, whatever hits the mood and even maybe a little, maybe a little joint of some sacred cannabis because we about to dive in. So I'm redeployed and I'm seeing firsthand, witnessing firsthand the effects COVID is having on everyone. I also had a baby at this time. I had a five month old who, you know, he was a baby five to six months old, but still impacted. Everyone thinks, oh, well, he was a baby, he didn't know. We all know. Our kids know, babies know, adults know, we all know. It was a very stressful time. And as an empath, feeling the collective, not just myself, but my family, my coworkers and my patients, it was a lot. So most of my empaths out there probably know when you're dealing with emotions that you really don't want to give your full attention to, your body stores that. And my stomach was just a mess. So fast forward another year now, we're in 2021, and I'm about five seconds away from receiving a diagnosis for an autoimmune disorder. Science is just starting to link IBS with autoimmune disease because there's really no cure. There's really no treatment, medically anyway. Let me rephrase that. There's no prescription drug treatment or cure offered for IBS. My IBS was debilitating. I had gone through all the tests. I had seen all the doctors. It was to the point where I was unable to leave my house, unable to leave the bathroom. I, as a nurse, started to become concerned for my health and well-being. The dehydration, I was concerned about dehydration and the pain at some moments in time, the pain became so unbearable that my husband was like, do I need to take you to the ER? So that's where we're at. We're at massive amounts of pain every day to where I cannot eat. Water is burning me. Water is giving me so many adverse reactions. Now I have four, I'm one of four, I have three siblings, three younger siblings, I'm the oldest. And my sister and my youngest brother were like, you know, we smoke weed, it really helps our belly. Why do you think we smoke it? You know, we smoke it and it helps us like nothing else helps us. I recognize that I'm an empath. My family, we are all empaths, just different kinds. And we've always said this, you know, some of us speak on it a little bit more openly than others. It just depends on your comfortable, you know, your personal comfortability. However, we all have the understanding that we are empaths and I'm like, okay. I want to pause right now. And I'm like, okay. So we're gonna have to pause and we're gonna have to go back again. I'm not, I want to set the story. I want to set the scene straight. As a teenager, yeah, I've smoked weed. Yeah, of course. All of our friends did, right? I smoked weed a handful of times as a teenager. And the first few times it was magnificent. It was glorious. We laughed. We had the times of our lives. It was amazing, surrounded by such love, such fun, such bliss, you know, feeling comfortable with your friends, that environment where you're not going to feel judged. So yes, I have smoked weed before this moment, but one of my most recent experiences with smoking weed was with a panic attack. It ended with a panic attack and I, from that moment forward, I said, never again. I'm never going to smoke weed because it just doesn't work for me. You know, it's not, it just, it doesn't vibe with me. Some people it vibes with, some people it doesn't. And now I want to pause and I want to take the moment to say, yes, that is very true. However, when you utilize cannabis, Mary Jane, with an intention, in the right environment, feeling love, feeling protection, you're going to have a great experience. When you smoke weed, it is important to surround yourself and make sure that you are in a loving environment because guys, Mary Jane is a catalyst for healing on all levels. All right. So as a teen, I already admitted, yes, I smoked weed. Now, one of the very last times I had a panic attack and it was just because it was at a party. I didn't know everyone. I did not feel comfortable. I shouldn't have done it. And it lasted me with this like really bad taste. So I'm like, no, my siblings like, come on, it's going to work. I swear. Why do you think we do it all the time? I'm like, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not doing that. I've done that way too many times. And I know now that it just doesn't work for me. And my sister was like, yes, I hear you. But she was the one that brought it to me. She was like, what was your environment like? What was going on? Were you in a bad mood? And after having a conversation with her, she kind of brought that to light to me. Like it had been decades since I had smoked and now it's being brought up to my attention and I have this dusty memory, this dusty experience. And my sister's like, no, you can make sure that you're surrounded by good people and it's going to work. And I was like, still hesitant. So finally, my youngest brother, he broke through to me and he was like, listen, I'm coming over. It's just going to be me and you. I'm going to roll a joint and I promise you that your pain is going to go right away. And I finally listened to my body and I dug deep down and I said, is this something that we can have hope for? And my body relaxed a little bit. And I said, okay, that's my body responding and saying, let's try this. So my brother comes over, we go right out onto the patio. He rolls up a joint and he tries to pass it to me. And I said, oh no, hold your horses there, buddy. I said, I'm going to sit here for a few minutes while you puff on that bad boy and I'm going to get myself in the right state of mind. Because as he was out there rolling the joint, I felt myself starting to tense up again and I held what my sister said very close to my heart and I allowed it to relax me and I allowed it to bring me back into the present moment and I allowed myself to remember my intention. I am safe, I am loved, and I am doing this because my body is going to receive the relief that it needs, the medicine that it needs. So I said to my brother, okay, I'm ready now. I took the tiniest little puff and lo and behold, girl, if that pain didn't stop, oh, I was like, I'm sold. It had me so relaxed to the point where fast forward, I ended up getting my medical marijuana card and now I'm doing a bunch of research because that's just who I am. If I'm going to put something in my body, I need to know everything there is to know about it. I've been dealing with plant medicine for the longest time, so I know that there's interactions, there's this, that, and the other thing. It's a dance, everything, this whole life, everything in life is a dance. So I got to studying, I got to studying the sacred cannabis plant medicine magic. This is a very old herb for all of you out there, you all know this. Ancient civilizations used to utilize sacred cannabis in a lot of specific rituals, healing rituals, initiation ceremonies, honoring light, honoring love, and what it does is when you use it with the intention, now I feel that it is an important moment and an appropriate moment to discuss some of the things that I have discovered and educated myself with this special plant medicine. First and foremost, each and every one of us were born with an endocannabinoid system. An endocannabinoid system resides within our body. I want you to hold your left hand out, palm up, and open flat. Your palm, imagine inside of your palm is a plug, it is an electrical outlet. Now I want you to hold your right hand out. The right hand is the electrical cord plug that will go and fit into the outlet of the wall. On the left hand, you have the female part. On the right hand, you have the male part. The left hand represents the endocannabinoid system of the body. The right hand represents sacred cannabis when you ingest it, whether eating, smoking, tincturing, topical oils, whatever. The two were made for each other. It fits like Legos. It fits like a plug, male and female. Number one. Number two, again, ancient civilizations have been using this sacred plant medicine for years. Now, the thing is, each of us, our endocannabinoid system is different. It is unique. So there is a learning curve when it comes to figuring out which strains, terpenes, and cannabinoids work the best for you. Now, that is something that I go into depth in on my social media and my monthly membership at theholistris.com. This is something that we will be utilizing, so you will be learning more in the monthly membership. But when you look and you see and you break down the terpenes of the strain and the cannabinoids of the strain, now, cannabinoids can only be found in cannabis. However, terpenes, which comprise a large part of the plant, are also found in other plants in nature, even some proteins, believe it or not. So for instance, the main reason everyone always searches for cannabis, Mary Jane, marijuana, weed, anxiety and pain relief, right? Anxiety and pain relief, anxiety and pain relief, yes. Now, pain relief. One of the terpenes present in cannabis that is a big time pain management terpene is called beta-karyophylline, or just simply karyophylline. Karyophylline is found in certain strains in higher forms, and those strains usually are a little bit more indica-dominant, but did you know that you can also find karyophylline in black pepper and other spices like that? And other areas of the world have figured this out because when you look into other cultures, like Indian culture has a sugared black pepper candy that they will use as a lozenge when they're not feeling well, and it will help with their pain. It will help treat their pain and alleviate their pain. They are ingesting a large dose of karyophylline through the black pepper. Boom. Now, it can be a learning curve, like I said, when you are learning your endocannabinoid system, what works for you, what doesn't work for you. Another thing that I want to point out and say to the public is when you are figuring out which strains work for you, everyone always hears Sativa-Indica hybrid, so Sativa, Sunny, Sativa, SS, Sativa, Sunny, daytime use, Sativa is really good for anxiety, it's like lighter on the body, it's usually for depression and anxiety, and again, I go over all of the strains and the terpenes and specifics on my social medias and my monthly membership, so hit me up there if you want more. Indica, Indigo, Indigo, Purple, Dark Purple, Nighttime Sky, Indica, Indi-couch, because you're tired, right? Now, a hybrid is just a mixture, it is for daytime or nighttime use depending, but when you're first starting off, your tolerance is going to be very, very minimal, and now while I speak on what I'm about to get into with my healing journey, it's all on a micro-dose standpoint, okay? A micro-dose meaning one to three puffs off of a joint, not an entire joint, not half of a joint, one to three puffs. You really only need a micro-dose, unless you're having like a really off day, a really, really bad moment, perhaps you're having a flare-up or whatever, but I'm talking for like a maintenance dose, a more consistent, maybe daily for you, maybe every other day, maybe every two days, maybe three days, but this isn't like a once a month type of a deal. That's where micro-dosing becomes important because you still function while you micro-dose. You're taking one to three hits to help tap in at that moment to ask the body, now that I am calm, tell me what I need to know, and allowing yourself to sit in that emotion where the pain isn't blinding you. Now I'm going to connect this to you, so let me start over a little bit more. I already said I was five seconds away with an IBS diagnosis, and I did, I got the diagnosis, and it's one of the things that assisted me in getting my medical marijuana card, so what I started to do was I micro-dosed, I was brand new again, brand new to the plant, and I needed enough so that I could cook dinner, you know, clean the house, bathe my children, you know, get myself ready for bed, and everything like that, and what I found was it actually started to reverse my symptoms in the slightest way with the continued micro-dosing, so I eventually got to a point where I wasn't in a certain amount of pain every day, I was in an amount of pain that I could tolerate without exhausting me, and I realized, like, we got to this point where I'm relaxed enough, I'm, something else is going on here, you know, there's something going on, and if medicine can't tell me what it is, if the doctors can't tell me what it is, my body will tell me what it is, because my body has all of the answers, just like your body has all of your unique personal answers, and you just have to be bold enough to ask it, because when you ask it, it's not going to lie to you, you got to be ready. I wasn't ready when I started with all that pain and that micro-dosing, I became ready because I decided that I didn't want to live in that pain anymore, and there couldn't be any pain worse than that, regardless of what I had done in my past, things that I needed to heal, moments where I felt I held myself back, whatever, I tapped into those things, so what I did was, my physical pain was abated to a point where I could do a deep dive, I started meditating, I started practicing on my breath work, I started really asking my body, tell me why, tell me why, what is happening here, and month after month, after month, more and more answers came forward, more and more tips from my body that said, we need you to do this now, we need you to stop this, and we need you to do this more, we don't need you to do that anymore, we need you to do this now, and it was a lot of self-reflecting, and it was a lot of realizing that I never really took the time to give myself the love and delight that I was giving to everyone else in that disastrous situation. When you're on an airplane, they tell you all of the time, put your own air mask on first, then you put everyone else's air masks on, because you can't save anyone if you're not able to save yourself, and that is the message that Zika Cannabis gave to me, and I started undoing all of the things that I had repressed in my body, all of those emotions that I had repressed, all of the pain that I wanted to help my collective transmute and transform, I was harboring it, I was taking it from them, yes, alleviating their pain, but I wasn't doing anything else with it, and again, that's where Zika Cannabis came in, because it connected me even deeper to the divine, even deeper to God, and so when I sat there, and I started meditating, and I was asking my body, what is happening right now? I just felt my connection to God, and pure love, so strong that regardless of what inner child wounds came up, I moved through them in the appropriate amount of time that I specifically was meant to move through them, now everyone moves their own pace, but Zika Cannabis helped me, because it dialed down that topical physical pain body, that I was at about a 9 out of a 10 every day, it brought that down to like a 5 out of a 10, to where I could actually think, and there's a lot of, our collective understands that there is a lot to be learned through pain, now this is a choice, we do not always have to learn through pain, but as a collective, that's kind of how we all generally understand, oh we're learning, I'm in pain right now, I'm meant to learn something, you are, now this again is not the only way that you are able to learn, you are able to learn other ways, but this is the way that we're kind of the most familiar with, so when you allow yourself the security and the safety to ask your deepest self, what's really the issue here, and feeling empowered enough to actually do something about it, to do better for yourself, so that you can in turn do better for your husband, or your wife, or your children, or your grandchildren, or your nieces, your nephews, your pets, your special family pets, your mother, your father, your brother, your sister, your friend, your family, your unit, the amount of love and healing that you will be able to give unto them, because what it just boils down to is, it just boils down to unconditional love and acceptance of yourself, and when you can unconditionally love and accept yourself, and really hold true forgiveness, that's when you start to transform, and the body becomes lighter, the pain is released, and then you start learning, and lesson thinking, and you are not in such extreme pain anymore. Now my medical cannabis journey has been a ride. I still have my card, but I don't use the way that I used to. I used microdose frequently, frequently, I want to say, probably honestly, in the very beginning, five times a week, five days a week, probably two times max, in the beginning, just to help self regulate, and really bring that pain body down, and then I didn't require as much because my body was communicating with me, and I was giving my body what it needed, and what it needed was not food, what it needs was not medicine, what it needed was for me to listen, and to honor the feelings that I was consistently throwing under the rug, brushing under the rug, throwing these feelings away as if they were not important. Guys, our feelings, our emotions are everything. Our emotions are speaking to us, our emotions are telling us something, and it might not always feel good, but it does not mean that it is not important, and that was just one of the messages and lessons that bigger cannabis helped me to learn, that when you go within, that's where all of the remedies are really based, is they are based within ourselves, in our heart, in our heart. And so, that's what I have for you guys today. I am so happy that we got this down, and we got this out there to everyone, because I feel like this is really going to help you on your healing journey. I know that America is, you know, kind of streamlining, legalizing cannabis. There are countries out in the world, yes, where it is legal, but there are a lot of countries where it is not, and so I am thankful for that. I am thankful. I'm going to choose to see all of the light and the love in the developments that we've made, and I just think that it is an amazing thing, and I feel like more help is on the way. I feel like more people will realize in time that you actually can heal yourself with cannabis. And now, where am I at today? I use it when I need to. I use it, I'm going to say, probably two to three times a week, like three puffs once a day or something like that. I don't need it the way that I used to.
