The speaker explains how to add alternative text to a photo on Facebook. They demonstrate the process on an iPhone, but mention that it can also be done on a Windows computer. The steps involve opening the Facebook app, creating a post, selecting a photo, clicking "I'm done," and then swiping to find the "more" option. From there, they explain how to edit the alternative text by typing a description of the photo. Finally, they mention that once the text is added, the post can be completed and posted. Today, folks, I'm going to show you how to add alternative text to your photo that's in Facebook. This is being done on my iPhone, but basically the same way it could be done on the Windows computer. So what we're going to do is go ahead and go to my Facebook app, and I'm going to double tap. Facebook. Okay. Now that I'm on Facebook, I'm going to go to the very top, and where it says create a post. Create post. Okay. Now I'm here. Create a post. Okay. Now that I've double tapped it, I opened up the post. To create a post, I'm going to swipe down until I get to photo slash video button. Okay. There it is. I'm going to go ahead and double tap. Now for simplicity purposes, I'm going to go ahead and just tap or click on any photo I have just as part of the demo. I'm going to swipe to the right. Okay. Here's a photo. I'm going to go ahead and double tap on it. Okay. Now that the photo is selected, I'm going to go to the top of the screen and click on I'm done. Okay. Here it is. Done. I'm going to go ahead and double tap. I'm done. Done. And now what I'm going to do, I'm going to swipe down until I hear more. Now, for those who are low vision, you're going to see three dots. The same thing. Okay. I'm going to go ahead and swipe until I hear more. Okay. Here we are. More. I'm going to double tap. I'm going to get a pop-up, which is fine. You're going to swipe to where it says alternative text. Okay. Edit all text. I'm going to double tap. And just, if I had mentioned it earlier, all text, what it is, for those who don't know, it adds text to the picture so someone like myself that uses voiceover or even JAWS can see or hear what's in the text or what's in the photo. Okay. Now that I opened up the edit text, I'm going to go ahead and swipe to the edit box. Change all text. Add alternative text that describes the contents of the photo for people with visual impairments. Text field. Text field. Okay. Is editing or mode. So now that the edit box, you're going to type in whatever you need to type in, you know, whatever you want to describe your photo, and then you're going to swipe to the right until you hear done. Done. Dimmed. Button. It might as dim. But once you put text in there, just click on done, and it's going to put you back on your original post. And then just complete your post, you know, whatever you want to add to it, more stuff and smiling and whatnot. Once you're done, just hit post on the very top of the page, and there you go. That's how to add alternative text to a photo on Facebook.
