Hello, and I welcome you all to the Peach Perfect's first podcast, where you can find gold reviews, giggles, and a little bit of glory. I am your host, the Tagalog Hotspur, or in other cases, you can just call me Jerry. So, I have been a fan for as long as I could even remember. And there is one thing that my parents would always teach me when I was a kid, and that is to always be honest. So, to be honest, I have never been to the stadium, since I do live miles away from the stadium. But I sure do hope that one day I could feel that atmosphere, that rocking stadium of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. So, I am like young, I'm like around the early 20s. I am in college, and I do live in the Philippines, which is like a tropical climate type of country. It's way different compared to England. We have a lot of rains here, we have a lot of storms, there's some earthquakes from time to time. I mean, the food is nice, and we do have a lot of like tourist spots to go to. We have beaches, I mean, we have some like amazing scenery from mountains to plateaus to hills. In other words, it's just a place where you can go out there to have fun, to drink sometime, or have a sense of adventure. It's the Philippines, I mean. But I don't want to talk about the Philippines, because this is not a Philippine-centered podcast. This is about the Spurs podcast. So, moving on, I'm going to talk about my history as a family member, I guess. My family are sports fans. I mean, my father and then his family, and also my mother's brothers and their family. We do love watching boxing, if you know like Manny Pacquiao. And we do watch like football from time to time, especially when it's World Cup or World Cup qualifiers here for the Philippines. But the Philippines don't really have that firepower in the football department, even though we do call it soccer in this area of the world. Since we are like linked with the Americans, you know, like history-wise. But my family are, when it comes to football, my family do support Man United. Like most of my cousins who are in London, or like in England in general, they do watch and even, yeah, they do watch in the Man United department. They are fans of Man United, and sometimes they would just give me like kits from Man United since I was a kid. And I do wear it from time to time, but I don't really have much of a sentiment value to it. But I do have a lot of Spurs kits here. I have a Spurs kit from the time of Pochettino, the time of Mourinho, the time of Conte, and even now, the time of Postecoglou. And talking about the podcast, going away from my history, oh, we could just go back to my history. I do play football when I was a kid. I have played in a small team when I was young, around like 12 years old, 14 years, like young teenage years. I do play like on the right mid, but it has been stopped. I stopped playing it around like high school towards college, since we don't really focus that sport here. They do focus around like sports that are different compared to the whole world, like volleyball or basketball or whatever sport there is. Well, it's okay, but I do watch Spurs from time to time. But in our case, we do watch it around 10 p.m. to 12.30, midnight to 1 a.m. in the morning, or sometimes 3 a.m., mostly around 3 a.m. Since the gap between games from the Europe side or in London time is like 6 hours, depending on the time that it starts. So you might be asking, why am I starting a podcast? I am starting a podcast just for fun. I do have a lot of things to talk to when it comes to games or even before games. And I do want to start my own podcast since I was young. And this is the only time where I could actually buy a cheap mic, some laptop and some recording software, so that I could just spread my voice out there. So don't be harsh on me, since this is really my first time. I haven't spoke in front of a mic for people for a very long time. And I do have public speaking skills. I do oration, declamation, and whatever speech there is. But it is different when it comes to a mic, since it's different when you talk in front of a mic. And then the words and the way you sound after you record is just different when it comes to speaking publicly. For those of you who are asking, I do want this podcast to be a lone podcast. I don't want to have a special guest, but it may change in the future. The name of the podcast is Speech Perfect's First Podcast. And I do not want to change it for a while. And my theme is just me. It's just me and the mic and just my thoughts. So I hope that all of you could just listen to me, hear from what I would say, and let's just grow and just feel this connection as a person. So my goals and expectations for this podcast would be just to... I don't really have goals in this podcast. I just want to set a target audience, and I want to talk what I want to talk about, and that is about SPURs. I do have projects upcoming that I do want to talk about, like a new podcast about a different type of podcast compared to sports podcasting. Since I do want to make this a new hobby of mine. So my goals and expectations for this podcast is just chill around. We'll see where this comes. I'm not really impatient when these things come to mind. I am new. I don't want people to be harsh, but it's okay to be harsh since I do take it lightly. We could just banter around many things. We could talk about certain games. But in this podcast, we'll be talking about match reactions, where we talk about post-match reactions about the game. We'll talk about things considering tactics. We'll talk about which players turned up and which players didn't. We'll talk about the tactics from our manager, from the gaffer, some moments that are just like what the F, some moments that are amazing. And we'll also have pre-match reactions, not really pre-match reactions, but pre-match covers about the games before. The next game, the moment I'm recording this podcast, two days from now, we'll have the Luton game. I will be starting a pre-match review about the Luton game. I hope we'll win it 3-0. Those are basically the start of my podcast. I would also want to talk about some areas in football that I do think about. Regarding the team, Spurs has been a very great team for a very long time. I know it's been said that we haven't been winning. We have been going there, but we're not winning. But I do hope that someday we could get the trophy that we do deserve. And I think that three years, I think two years, or even next year. But I believe wholeheartedly that two years from now we could get some silverware so that we couldn't be that Spursy tag anymore. But I don't think we don't, we do even have that Spursy tag. I think Chelsea has it even. I think Spurs is the best thing for me. I've been supporting it since I was a kid. I do have a lot of Spurs merchandise in my room. I have all the kits here and I've been wearing them even for going out with my girl. But yeah, we'll just wait for the trophy and I don't really have thoughts about the recent regime with Daniel Levy and Enoch. I'm not Enoch out, I'm not Levy out, but I do recognize the people who are Enoch and Levy out. I do understand that Levy hasn't been Levying, but he has been Levying when it comes to the business side. And since then I think we are the richest club in Europe and I do, I'm proud of that. And I hope that in a year or two years or three years or even years from now, I hope that we could use that money and invest on young talent and invest on big talent even. And just make this club balloon. For what I could remember, we are a team who is growing from the bottom. We don't have that oil money, we don't have that airplane money, or we don't have any money that we could just inject. And there are some cases that we could have been in a position where we could be injected by that sum of money, which didn't happen, I guess. I think there was a time that there was a Googleplex thingy where the name of our statement would be changed to Googleplex and there would be a large sum of money to be given. And of course it didn't happen because of Daniel Levy or whatever with the organization. But we just need to trust the process. We're fans, we do have a say to this. It doesn't mean that we don't have a say on what we want our club to be. Of course we want our club to be winning. But we want our club to spark that philosophy of attacking football. And there's now a check with that with Ange Postacoglu. And we don't want that fossil football with Jose Mourinho or with Conte or with whatever manager there is. We want to stick to that attacking football. We will stick on the transfers where we buy young players to become great talents like Harry Kane. And we stick to whatever the management has for us. We have no choice. We do have our voice and we want Daniel Levy to hear about it. But at the end of the day we just have to trust the process. Trust what the manager does towards the club. Trust what Daniel Levy and Enix does towards the club. And until the time comes when everything falls apart and everything burns to the ground. I hope we turn our eyes towards the management. Because just like in the government position, it's always democracy. That we have the right as people to have a voice against what these people are doing towards our country. And in this case towards our club. We have a voice. We need to speak it out. We don't need to be afraid. There will be times that we will be pissed about them. Why is this ticket pricing increase? Why is this problem that? Why won't we buy this player for 15 million? Why won't we loan this player? Why won't we sell this player? But at the end of the day we just need to trust this process. We don't need to trust this process. But we need to show to them that the fans are the ones giving the money to the club. And we do deserve the best of the best. And I think since Ange went here. We could see a glimpse of it. Like the attacking football. And I hope this window in summer. And the next window. And the next window. Daniel Levy would give in the money. The hurricane money. And the 600 plus million of money. To buy the players that Ange needs. So that we could win a trophy. So yeah. So separately from the team. I think our summer. I think our summer before the season. I think our pre-season. I mean pre-season team. Our players from the January window. I think for Ange Postacoldo's first season. As managing this football club. I think it has been amazing. The first hand games have shown me that. This team could beat the best of the best. And show up whenever they want. And this team are young. They are hungry. Most of them are like 21 years old. There are some who are like below 25. And then our oldest is our captain. Just like son. Overall with the players. I think Vicario is like a huge signing. Probably the best player. The player of the season for me. He has saved a lot of goals for us. Since we do play a inverted fullback. We do have that weakness. We do have that weakness. And with a high line of course. But with this season I think that Pedro Porro plays a huge part I think that Pedro Porro plays a huge part same with Destiny Odogi plays a huge part in the attack and they also play good defensively and of course they are still young and they have still a lot of time to grow and to learn from their mistakes. and to learn from their mistakes. And I know there are some moments where Destiny would have mistakes and same with Porro but we need to give them time but we need to give them time to grow their potential. Just like playing FIFA or Football Manager they didn't reach their peak yet. they didn't reach their peak yet. Also we have our two center backs I think Miki van der Ven has been one of the signing of the season also I do believe that Miki van der Ven and partnered with Christian Romero are like the best center backs of this league one of the best center backs of this league not being biased but the way that van der Ven moves his balls forward and his recovery pace of catching balls of that recovery that he has and also his speed was like Usain Bolt and he's also the fastest Premier League player and he's also young so not a big deal I guess and of course Christian Romero World Cup winner a beast he does take a lot of yellow cards for some reason by the moment that I recorded this which is a few days before the Luton game he hasn't got any yellow since he got sent off during the Chelsea game I guess and when he got his yellow whatever I think he's playing well I think he is being a captain in the back line him and Miki van der Ven have been a perfect partnership and I agree that sometimes if you take Miki van der Ven due to injury and you put Dragozin there Dragozin Bolt it's just different since Dragozin do plays somehow like like Christian Romero and I think in the summer we could just buy another fast paced recovery type of player that could replace and just have that solidity in the back and I know we have some players in the academy we do bought some upcoming players I forgot his name some youngster like a tall 17 year old player for the future so the future is good for Spurs and we do have also going forward we have our midfielders we have a lot of midfielders I think Bizuma has been playing well in the first 10 games and ever since he got that red card and he got sent off that Luton game he hasn't been playing well so I think during this time in the next Luton game I hope he gets back his form same goes with the other players I think he's going to be out in the summer but he has been playing well when he was subbed in when he plays like for 10 minutes or 20 minutes same goes for Nassau who is injury prone I think he'll live in the summer also even though it's unfair for me since he has been playing well in the season he has been scoring goals but yeah the injuries do play a big part towards the season and even when he plays international breaks playing for Argentina I think he has been playing well and he's a key player there since he does play 90 minutes most of the time same with Romero so yeah we have Sar Papadisar I think also is our star boy he is playing a lot better compared to last season he has been playing consistently compared to last season and I think he's one of our star players and key players since he also has that recovery pace he's also like a rabbit with batteries and he's like that toy that doesn't run out of batteries keeps on running he keeps on progressing the ball he keeps on recovering the ball so I think he's a great player and I think he's like one of the lowest signings in the squad so I do hope and he deserves more of course and yeah Sar is like one of the my favorite players in the squad and there's some mentions I think with Skip I think he doesn't just fit the system but he does play well especially when the injuries come but he hasn't been getting any minutes since the players recovered from those injuries and yeah I guess he doesn't really just fit the system he does play it defensively and knowing Ansh Pastakul he wants everything to go forward it's not Skip's fault when we're talking about Conte he would always prefer Skip over Sar and of course Conte plays defensive type of football fossil football, dead football dragging horse, coffin whatever type of football coffin football but now we're playing champagne wine football amazing attacking football so I think formations do matter and like the way we play matters so I think Sar is greater than Skip in this system compared to last system we also have Betancourt who has just recovered from injury he did get injured recently in this season but I do think he played well I think the past few games he has not been getting any minutes and even though he did get minutes or when he starts he's just playing bad honestly bad like with Bissouma I don't know what's happening with them I think he's not fully fit yet and I hope that since we have this international break and we have a time to chill a bit to think a bit before the next game with Luton and hopefully we do win against Luton we are supposed to win against Luton and it's Luton man come on it's not being disrespectful to the Luton fans but it's Luton so I hope that they could turn up go back to form since we do have a hard run in the next few games especially in April going forward we have our we have our forwards let's start with Johnson he's also playing well but he's not supposed to start but he is starting because of the injuries we have we have Johnson we have Tim Werner who is back from he's back from who is in loan for us currently do I think that he's supposed to be loaned? yeah do I think that he should be bought like permanently I mean it's up to the club but for me I don't think we buy him since we could use that little bit of money for something else like an upcoming player like an upcoming one on one demon the left and same goes with the right so Kuluseps he also is a good player but in the past few games he has been stinking the place out but I do believe that he has the ability to create magic same with Johnson even though he has been getting a lot of abuse from different fans I do not condone it I do not want players to be disrespected because they played bad I get it that he is like 50 plus million and he's young he's supposed to be like a backup for Kulu and now he's been playing regularly and he's like young like 21 but yeah we just need to trust the process just like what I said we are a young squad I think Johnson does fit the system given time there are some moments where he would just beat his man and just cross the ball and there are some moments where he would just be lackluster and just pass it back but we need to just trust in this development and hope that someday that we could just reap the rewards from it and we do some of the players who are in the lone whatever and while Richarlison has been in a new stage where he would face his fears like mentally and even in his problems like internally and even physically when he had a surgery which gave him that form that amazing form where he keeps on scoring I think we don't need to change I don't think there are some cases where we should sell Richarlison or someone else but I don't think we should sell Richarlison but when the time is right and we do have the cash like the cash is right I mean like 80 million or
