Dylan Bangs, a 21-year-old sports communication and media major from Glendora, New Jersey, talks about growing up in a small town where everyone knows each other. He describes Glendora as a small, middle-class suburb with not much happening, but a strong sense of community. Dylan enjoyed playing baseball in the little league and made most of his friends there. He felt safe in Glendora and credits the support of his family for keeping him motivated and on track. My name is Nicholas Marchesani, and today I had a conversation with Dylan Bangs, a 21-year-old sports communication and media major who grew up in Glendora, New Jersey. He talked about what it was like to grow up in a small town and be surrounded by people that you always know. I'm Dylan Bangs, I'm 21 years old, and I'm a senior sports communication and media major I grew up in Glendora, New Jersey. It's about 20 minutes from here, South Jersey. It's located, I guess, near Triton High School, for anyone that knows the area. Not far from the Washington Township and Blackwood. It's a very small town compared to our surrounding towns. It's basically kind of three neighborhoods split by like two streets, really. Basic middle class, I guess, a little lower than middle class suburbs. Not a lot going on, but everyone knows each other kind of, so it's nice. So it was a basic, normal neighborhood, like I said, suburbs area. All the houses are kind of split level. A couple ranchers and all, a bunch of, we have a lot of baseball fields around us and a few things like that. Like I said, it was a small town, so we kind of all knew each other. I like playing baseball for my little league because it's where I met most of my friends. We all went to school together, all came home and played baseball together, so it was nice having that. Being a small town, it's kind of helped me be friendly with everyone and kept it good. It was not a dangerous town at all, so I always felt safe there. It kept me in the right head space and motivated to go there. I had all my family by me, so that helped me stay motivated towards where I am now.
