Launch Out Into the Deep- Try once more for Success

00:00-08:20

You may have failed before, and it seems like a big deal, but great success is approaching. All you need is to try again, but this time at God's word. Peter toiled all night and caught nothing but when Jesus said to him "launch out into the deep and let your net down for a catch" he caught so much that he was afraid. Don't give up due to past failure, launch out into the deep and let down your net for a catch.

In this sermon, the speaker discusses the story of Peter and how he failed at fishing until Jesus told him to try again. The speaker emphasizes that failure does not have to be the end and that success is almost within reach. They explain that launching out into the deep means moving away from the familiar and comfortable and taking risks. They also emphasize the importance of using the tools and resources available to us, as well as trusting in God's words. The speaker encourages listeners to draw closer to God and listen for his instructions. They end by praying for God's grace and blessings for the listeners. Hello good morning my name is OVO Ayola and it's my pleasure to welcome you to Start Right With Jesus. Today we'll be discussing Try Once More Success Is Almost Here. Try Once More Success Is Almost Here and we'll be talking from the book of Luke chapter 5 verse 1 to 11. Luke chapter 5 verse 1 to 11. Previously we had discussed how Peter was busy chasing shadows and looking for fish while God was looking for souls. He failed miserably fishing all night and he caught nothing. The good news is that if you have been in Peter's situation your story does not need to end up with catching nothing. You can try once more because success is surely almost here. If you notice you have been failing because you have been chasing shadows as you described in the previous session. All it takes is to come to Jesus and make him your Lord and Master and your story will change. Peter knew all the available science and knowledge of catching fish in that particular terrain but all his knowledge and experience was of no effect. Verse 4 says when Jesus stopped speaking that is after he had fellowship with Peter and the people using Peter's boat. He said to Simon launch out into the deep and let down your nets. You know there are hundreds and possibly thousands of people there as we see from chapter 5 verse 1 where the Bible described the people as a multitude. A multitude means uncountable. A multitude means so many that they didn't bother to count them. But Jesus singled out Peter as he is going to single someone out today and I pray that I will be that person that God will single out. When God singles you out for attention your story is about to change. He singled out Bartimaeus and he regained his sight. He singled out the madman of Gadarenes and he regained his mental health. He singled out the man at the pool of Bethesda and he told him to pick up his bed and walk and that put an end to 38 years of sorrow. He singled out the woman with the pool of blood. He ended years of sorrow for the woman. Every time he does miracles someone is being singled out for the purpose of demonstrating God's power. But that's not where we are going. When he singled out Peter he said to Peter launch out into the deep and let down your net for a catch. What does it mean to launch out into the deep and to let down your net for a catch? Let's first look at launch out into the deep. It means move a little bit off the coast. Get a bit more inside deeper into the river and it could mean throw your net deeper than before. But you know in the context of what we know definitely does not just mean throw your net deeper than before because that is coming in the next sentence. So launch out into the deep could mean that you have failed before does not mean you should accept failure as the final outcome. You can start again. Peter had already resigned to faith that day but Jesus said go start again. In fact make more effort because this time around your effort will not be fruitless. The second thing that launch out into the deep may mean is that you need to remember it does not it did not say launch out into the shallow. That means you must get the best God has in stock for you. You must be prepared to do more than staying at the edge of the river. You need to move away from shallow side of the river inside into where it is deeper. In practical terms you are looking for a job. Launch into the deep means spread the net of your search areas. Stop restricting yourself to the known and preferred. Your miracles may be coming from unusual spots. Thirdly, launch out into the deep simply means change your location. You have been fishing from the edge from the shallow from the shallow area of the water. God wants you to go into the deep and change your location. Those who studied economics and business will tell you that location is everything in determining the success of a business. So fourthly, launch out into the deep may mean change your mindset. Stop doing the usual in the area only. Be prepared for new things. You have tried this before and it has failed. You can try something new. This time around you try something new by launching into the deep. And that takes us to the second to the second part of that command that Jesus Christ gave. He said let down your net. What is it that you have been doing to that your net? Jesus is saying let down your net. Your net is not useful in your hands until you drop it into the ocean. You may have packed it up and washed it. You need to risk unpacking it and getting it dirty all over again. You need to risk the fact that you are going back to the same river that you have failed before. The same net that failed you previously may be the same that God will use to bless you. Let down your net means you need to have the tools of your trade. Jesus could have said dig your hands into the water and bring a fish out but he needed to use Peter's tools. He used his boots. He used his boots to tell him to go into the into the deep and he used his net to tell him to let down his net. So the boots will take him deeper into the water. The net will take him down into the deep. Anointing does not mean you should not use your tools. Finally it is not the tool that produced the breakthrough. After all it was the same tools that produced failure before. But this time around Peter was not acting just out of his own zeal. He said add your words. When you apply your tools as his words they will bring fruitful outcome. They will bring fruitful outcome and that's why and the fruitful outcome may be so scary that you yourself will realize that this is the hand of God. That's why the Bible says in Ecclesiastes chapter 4 verse 14 I know that whatever God does it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it that men should fear before him. You cannot experience God's blessings from his word and not be afraid of him. And that is why you need to draw closer to God today. That is why we need to try once more that is why we need to listen out what is the instruction that God is trying to pass out. Perhaps the reason you have been failing, the reason I have been failing is because I have been trying to do it with knowledge. I've been trying to do it with effort but Jesus Christ is saying launch out into the deep. Let down your net for a catch. The God that promised that when you let down your net there will be a catch. He will not let you go empty and dead. And that's why I'm praying for someone today that the God of heaven will release upon you the grace for fruitful net today. And as you launch out into the deep and you let down your net for a catch, you indeed will make a catch that is good sinking in Jesus name. God bless you. Till we meet again, it's me Oviarela saying, start right with Jesus and you will never lose. God bless you. Bye.
