The transcription is about an interview with Wilma Ellis, a German actress, discussing her career and views on goodness and spirituality. She talks about her role in a TV series and upcoming projects. The interviewer also discusses their documentary on spreading goodness and the connection between science and spirituality. They touch on the importance of taking care of the environment and addressing climate change. Wilma emphasizes the need for collective action to make a difference. Searching for goodness. Well, until we have the money to go to Antarctica, we're starting right here in L.A. Hello from Los Angeles. Today I have my good friend Wilma Ellis. I've known her for 9 years. She's a German actress. I know her from that famous show, Elisabeth von Lange-Tarnti. I've known her a very long time ago. We've been friends. She was in one of my short films, Tolerance. Smile, though your heart is aching. Smile, even though it's breaking. When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by. If you smile through your fear and sorrow, smile and maybe tomorrow you'll see the sun come shining through for you. And we met again in Los Angeles. She's here with her kids and I'm actually interviewing her and her little baby in her belly right now. It's very exciting. So, Wilma, I know a lot of people know you already in Turkey and around the world, but can you please introduce yourself? Yes, thank you so much. I'm very excited to be in Searching for Goodness and I think it's a really good subject. Yeah, my name is Wilma Ellis. I'm from Germany, but 13 years ago I moved to Istanbul for the TV series, Early Biggest Showman. It was the record-breaking TV series of all time and it was in 70 countries, so now they are all over the world. There are people who watch it who like it. Thank God. And then I continued with other series and movies. I was here in this Oscar-eligible movie, Silver Carnation, which we shot in Los Angeles, so I come here quite often. It's so good that we always stay in touch and you are such a creative woman. I always love to support and be on your side when you have great ideas. Thank you so much. And you looked gorgeous at Campion Festival this year. What is your weekly project if you want to mention any of your projects in the works that are coming up? Yes, so the Campion Festival, I go there every year. I love it to be with all the friends, crews all over the world. And at the moment my new series is a streaming one. It's a conference of Netflix from Turkey. The platform's name is Tavi. And there I'm the wife of a Sultan, Jenny Hatton, in the series of Kizil Elma, Fethi Öztürk, The Great Apple. It's also in English. You can watch it in English on TaviEnglish.com. Yeah, and there are some other film projects coming up, so I'm excited. Very good. And our documentary is called Searching for Business. And we are starting slowly before we manage to go to Antarctica, which is going to be the first continent I'd like to explore for the feature film. Then I want to go to other continents of the documentary series, so there's going to be a lot of traveling involved. But at this stage, I just started asking from the point of view of an actress, artist, a scientist. My name's Nick Amoroso, and I'm a research scientist. A spiritual person. My father taught me spiritualism from a very young age and taught me how to meditate. And at that time, he was more into transcendental meditation. And to you, what does goodness mean? What does goodness do, and how can we express it? So, goodness, I think, is a good intention. So you can help somebody bring the bag with a bad intention. This is not goodness, I think. So, goodness comes from the heart. So, goodness is more like a frequency. It's like the right vibe. And I work with frequencies all the time. I use them to sleep, to relax, to bring myself in the right mood. And as soon as I have the right vibe, the right mood, the right frequency, good things happen. It always is like this. And I think there are rules in the universe, also about spirituality. When you just use them, then good things happen. And you always should desire good for the other person. You should never think bad about a person. You should always be understanding. And you should always think about the things you have. Because when you are thankful, then good things, more good things happen to you. And you should always envision good things. Then it happens, it realizes itself. But if you want to take vengeance, if you don't forgive other people, if you do all of this, then your life will be miserable. And you harm yourself more than the other person. So goodness is also, whatever you do to another person, it happens to you. Maybe not from this person, but it happens to you on some other way. Even if you stroke a cat, you know, some good things happen to you. And always, you should never forget the 10% rule. Like always trying to give 10% of what you have. Like share your food, share your income, share your happiness. Your time. Your time. So yeah, so that's goodness for me. Very good. And how do we go about spreading goodness to our work and our arts? How do you spread goodness? And how do you think we can spread goodness to the community? I think it's a wonderful subject. And you know, always in the world, bad things happen. And now we came out of a pandemic and I think it's a really good subject, what to choose for your documentary. Like thinking about it and like being clear about yourself. We want to spread goodness. We want goodness. We don't want war, loneliness, fear. We want to help other people. I think that's very, very good that you remind the people that we are all one big family in the end. Very well said. Very well said. And you mentioned the frequencies. I'm also very interested in finding the coexistence between spirituality and science. And you mentioned pandemic times. I remember I was really into reading about new thought movements, how people's energies and thoughts can be healing or protecting from diseases for your health. So how do you see a correlation between science and spirituality? I think actually science and spirituality is one. So there are special rules for spirituality to reach your dreams, your goals. And I think, I'm a religious person, so I think that also the rules, like how to reach your goals, how to reach your dreams, and how to use spirituality. You can be spiritual, but when you use spirituality to reach your goals, then that's science. Like it's described in the Torah, in the Bible, in the Koran. They are the rules. And also in other books. I don't know at the moment, I'm sure. But I think these holy books, they have the rules. Like you should, you know, when you share, you get more. When you believe that it happens. Like all the rules are inside, actually. And so we should, we can use those rules. And if you, for example, if you are very angry with somebody, then things break. You get sick when you feel lonely. You always have to, like the most important is your soul. Because for the health of the soul, the body can go sick. So always make sure that your soul is healthy and you will never be sick, hopefully. Right. So it's like, like whatever, for example, this is a rule, like if I left this, then it would fall down. And the same is with the rules, the spirituality rules, which is like, when you wish bad to somebody, then it happens to you. So that's also a rule, I think. Beautiful. I mean, everything you just said is perfect. And you mentioned something very important. Because when I was first starting this documentary, I had this called Oneness. And from all different world religions, it's just showing things how they have in common. Like love thy neighbor, love one another. About a lot of things, golden rules, do unto others as you'd like them to be. What goes around comes around. So this is very important. I was actually starting this documentary called Searching for God. And because of the misconception, like people thought I'm making a movie about Jesus. They thought this was something state-based. I'm like, no, this is like large. I want to include everybody and everything. I want it to be a universal thing. So then I changed it to goodness. Because goodness can be found in science, in different religions, in different things. So climate change and global warming, we keep hearing, which I'm also going to be interviewing some activists about that. Actually, today is a Friday. I usually work Fridays on Searching for Goodness. And there's this young activist, Greta Thunberg. You know that little girl, How Dare You? So she has an organization called Friday for Future Day Go. And they do activism for climate change. They go standing from the parliament and call the government and corporations for action. They do the right thing for the environment. So anyhow, what's your thoughts on if you have a mom with her two beautiful kids and you have a new one coming up. So for the world we're going to live for our children and your children's children. What do you think we should do for our environment and climate change, global warming? What's your words on that? Yeah, unfortunately we are all in this together. And it's very frightening how fast this change was. When we think about the motor, it was invented in, I think, 1890 or 1900. So it's just 140 years ago this process started. And before that, like thousands and thousands of years, we lived one with nature. And now, with the motor change, just in 140 years, we destroyed so much. And it's going faster and faster. All the people now have like washing machines, televisions, multiple phones, too many things. And I see everywhere, I think I see the storage. The people are just buying too many goods. And the population is growing. And more cars are going on the street every day. So this process will be even quicker. And I think there needs to be a very big political change that we can all react to this change. And this was the hottest summer since 143 years. So the climate change is here right now. And it's happening. So it's very bad that every third person dies of cancer. And we destroy all the environment, unfortunately. So we have to acknowledge that. It's our fault. And only if we can do it all together, then we can manage it. And I always tell my kids, and I know it's going to happen. You can't deny it anymore. So it's better for us to be prepared and not to cry about it. I'm not here to just say, oh, it's so bad, it's so bad. No. We have to adapt to this new situation. And, for example, I was looking, Canada is a great place. Maybe it will be the best place to live in my 20s. Because there's a little population, a lot of trees, and a lot of nature. So we will all, I think, look for different places to live. So we have to change all of our things we are used to. I tell my kids, everything which you see here right now, it has to change. Isn't that crazy? But it is. We have to change everything. And this is also a chance for the new generation. Because now we have the rich and the poor people, let's say. Like the car sellers are the rich people. But this will change because the new generation will create new inventions. How to move around without destroying nature. How to use electricity without destroying nature. Like clothing. Everything is now about longevity. And about being stable in the nature. This has to change. If not, we will all die very soon. It's just how it is. So we better change fast. It's like Darwin. Who in their past will be stronger, will survive. And Descartes. There is only one thing that is not going to change. Constant change. Everything will change. So let's not just cry about it. Let's not just be mad at each other. Let's do it all together. The political change. And then the change in population. And population living together. Community. Right. So what's your thoughts on AI? And anything you want to say on that? Yeah, I think now we are right in the center of the discussion of artificial intelligence. Los Angeles, the strike. And I think this process started also with the pandemic. When we got used to see each other more on screen. Than seeing each other drinking something together. Touching something. Smelling something. Like having the full experience. So AI is just continuation of screen time. And now we got used to social media. We are interacting now with just like a phone. And it's not the real person anymore. Still we got used to it and we use it every day more. So the people on the track go in there. And I think it's almost like you can't turn the time back. The start was I think when we had the musicians. When they just gave concerts. And then the LP came on the market. I think that's when the musicians maybe protested and said. Hey, now nobody is coming to my concert again. Everyone is just listening for the LP. Paying one time and listen a thousand times. This is not fair. But it turned out that this was the way. Now you really even not pay for any music anymore. We all watch it on YouTube for example. So how do the singers survive? That's a big question. And also we actors now and directors. We have to be creative and thinking about new ways. How can we survive? And we have to change ourselves. So myself I developed already some strategies. Like thinking about Canada. Going to Canada with the environment. Or for example I bought a house and I was checking. How big is it above sea level? Because when the water comes. And it's all soon. It can be 10 years, 20 years. Maybe 50. And this is the same. Now we need to develop strategies. And I'm looking into other branches. What can I do? Because I think the golden ages of Hollywood. I mean because Hollywood is like the motor of America. Like America is so strong. Because all the products and the lifestyle of America. Were shown to the world. And now Hollywood stops. And I think this is super dangerous. Super dangerous. Because the world is not. I don't know. I'm afraid that the world order. But it is like it is. We will see what happens. But I think also like America has grown and developed new ways. But Hollywood wants a motor. And it's now stopping for a month. And it will go on for some while. Some people say. So this is. I hope they can agree very soon. Because if not. Things will change much faster. I mean. AI is like really improved. Like I remember last movie set I worked on. Both of the assistant directors were talking. They were like getting help. Writing stuff. Sending out emails. To check in. I heard people writing stories. Screenplays through it. So I even heard. There is a writer girl. I'm talking to. She is a Russian girl. She published a book. And she ran into this whole thing. Because they might get an AI director to direct it. Like what the heck is going on. So yeah. I don't know. I mean. Just like everything else. We have to coexist with AI. Because if we try to compete with AI. I think AI is going to be too much. And I always think of the space odyssey. That famous scene. The space odyssey. How? Open the doors. How? Like the AI stops listening to humans. Like that point can come. Yeah. That can be hard. I'm sure. I'm sure. Then they would say. They would criticize the human being. And then the other thing too. Why should we have a sweating human being. You need to powder every five minutes. And you can have a perfectly made AI. Actors. Without having to eat. To eat. To sleep. In a five star hotel. Without any business class air tickets. To book. It's much cheaper. Much cheaper. Even background actors. I have friends who did background acting. Apparently they took a guy. Turned the body. Now they can't use it anywhere they want. Like Lord of the Rings. Founded the soldiers. So now. Imagine that. All the background. They don't have to feed them. Dress them. And everything. A lot of background actors. With loads of money. And it's economically wise. For the producers. Much more effective. To use AI. But. How can we change the fact. I mean the people. They all look on social media. Now. Photo. Touched photos. Have the same value. As. You know. Normal photos. Like nobody. Like even there are some profiles. Who are fake. And the people. Have a lot of. Like. Not the people. The AI's have a lot of followers. Right. So. I don't know what to say. I see art. On Instagram. I see art. I can't differentiate. Is this a person. Or is this AI. I really have a few accounts. I'm wondering. What's going on. But. I think. The answer. Is going to be. Universal. E-commerce. The goal of this documentary. Which I started. Is searching for business. In Antarctica. I want to go to Antarctica. One reason is. A lot of different countries. Like 70. 80 countries. People go there. To scientific research. For the good of the earth. And. I want to travel the world. Continent by continent. And I want to start there. As I can find a little different countries. In one place. Plus. It's a very critical place. For about global warming. Climate change. And it's like a safe haven. Another thing interests me about Antarctica. There's no government there. Yeah. So. I'm wondering. What's going on. Is going to be. Universal. E-commerce. The goal of this documentary. Which I started. Is searching for business. One reason is. A lot of different countries. Yeah. There's no real. Like. There hasn't been a war. In the history of Antarctica. There has been only one murder. I've heard of. Yeah. So. It is kind of like. A cool haven. Over there. Like in Ethiopia. So I really want to go explore. I haven't been there yet. I need to get funds together. To be able to get on an expedition ship. And go all the way. Get a crew. Get equipment. Right. The right kind of wardrobe. Because it's going to be freezing over there. That's the goal of this. Documentary. Right. But have you heard. What are your thoughts about Antarctica? When we get there. I'll let you know. You might want to come along. Of course. I mean. I think it's a great. Vision you have. And I'm sure you're going to find a way. To realize this. It's an important project. You have here. And. So. Antarctica. Yeah. I want to go. I want to come. So. Yeah. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait.
